I'd go 1 step further and guess that the main reason for the new designation is to separate it somewhat from the regular MP line since I doubt they will be able to design a combiner to normal MP standards for the combined form, 6 individual trains and 6 individual bots. Some compromises will be needed somewhere and I'm guessing they will stand out somewhat from the regular MP line due to this.

Agreed 100%

I personnaly like the idea of purchassing them separatly. Being on a budget of late, it will be easier to get all of them one at a time rather then spit 700$ on a set. I'm really excited about this. Hopefully we will soon have a date for the first one to be released :)

Man, Shouki looks pretty good so far. One at a time release will be agonizing. But at least it will be cost effective.

Finally, a chance to have the trains!

Definitely an MP, but then I thought he looked like an MP when we just saw the gray model. Never understood the claims that he looked like a Generations figure.

He's beautiful, and I also love that you get a piece of train track included

I had seen some news a couple of days ago that the price was going to be somewhere in the neighborhood of $170.00 USD... But didn't want to post anything until it was more reliably sourced. It does look amazing, but man is this going to be tough. I guess I am thankful these are coming out one at a time. But at that complexity, I hope it doesn't take 6 years to finish. I guess I'm glad the 2022 Legacy Line doesn't have much I want, most of my toy budget will be going towards this.

I can see that actually, how much did Starscream ver 2.0 go for? And he could be cheaper via Amazon.jp

Can customers without a Japanese address/other countries order from Amazon.jp?

Yep, that's how I got Greenicron.

Awesome Thank you ALL. I had been registered on Amazon.jp to browse but never ordered anything. I have ordered from Amazon.ca and uk before, but I just thought I had issues with Amazon.jp in the past, might have been several years ago though.

When this eventually does happen, hopefully Pulse will offer it as well, a price comparison to get the best deal will definitely need to be thoroughly researched. ;)^

*update* just found the pre-order

https://www.amazon.co.jp/o/ASIN/B09HQPF ... sform0c-22

After shipping (unfortunately Prime US doesn't apply in Japan :-( ) it is just under $200 ($197.85 USD), and that is at todays exchange rate. I assume they don't charge until the item actually ships, so there is no telling what it could be in 9 months when this actually comes out. I think I'll wait. Pulse seems to offer most MP's. I'll see what they charge.

Oof, my only hope is that he will be the most expensive as part of the torso and that the arms and legs might be a little cheaper. But even then, it may be out of my price range.

Bit pricey for me to get all of them, I'll wait to see third parys pricing/offering amd just hope they do a G1 reissue. Looking really nice though.

More info about this can be found here:

- https://hobby-watch-impress-co-jp.trans ... tr_pto=nui

The price is ludicrous. Imagine if all 5 figures cost around this price? Even the current 3P versions seem cheaper.

I'm definitely waiting for the KO and/or the full set of 3P figures instead.

I'm sure that number will also be a far more accurate reflection of the price for all six of them too. ;)

There are the 3P versions and (possible) KOs?

True, the 3P version looks to be literally half the price, probably of comparable size, and much more cleanly engineered. That said, half the price is still a $700 combiner, not to mention the bot-mode scale difference between MP and Generations (which I pretty much exclusively collect). It looks like, unless I somehow miraculously find some toy trains of the right size and learn how to re-shell CW figures, my collection will lack a Raiden.

This is an MP combiner, it was always gonna be expensive. If Beast Wars Blackarachnia which only goes from tiny bot to spider is $150, the leader component which goes from train to bot to combining component was not gonna be less.

That said, this was my face when I saw the price:

And O. Supreme, Amazon japan will be your best option, no matter what price Pulse will have it at. Expect the price to decrease by 25% what it is now in the coming month, that always happen since retail prices in Japan for non exclusive figures are usually 25% off the SRP which is reserved for TTMall and trading through imports.

Transformer Masterpiece G Series MPG-01 Trainbot Showki Revealed with a $160 Price Tag

Takara is making quite a few reveals through the day for new preorders. Most are for toys Hasbro has already revealed or released but here is probably the biggest reveal: Transformer Masterpiece G Series MPG-01 Trainbot Showki. This is the first component of the first Masterpiece Combiner in the Masterpiece G spinoff line and it is the leader of the trainbots that make up Raiden. This item was revealed through an Amazon listing in Japan where it is currently the number 1 best seller in the hobbies category. And that's not small feat since the price is higher than many hoped for. The Japanese SRP is 18000 Yen which is equivalent to about $160 USD. The price on Amazon Japan (which includes the Japanese tax which will be removed for any buyer outside Japan) will surely come down by about 25% in the coming weeks so make sure to keep an eye here: https://www.amazon.co.jp/o/ASIN/B09HQPF ... rtron00-22

You will notice that it comes with a train track and a partsforming piece for the combined mode.

I was excited for this thing, but that's evaporated, $150 and it needs extra parts to combine, while looking like an exploded train for no reason? it looks awful, from the backpack to the general panel-y-ness of it, say what you want about CW but keeping things stream-lined and simple had it's benefits, this looks like a mess :(

I too don't think this looks great. But him being an exploded train is accurate.

Oh and these are MP sized unlike what was previously written online

Scale and Features of MPG 01 Trainbot Shouki Shown in New Video from Takara

PostPosted: Wed Oct 06, 2021 9:10 pm
by william-james88
Takara is going all out with their Transformers Masterpiece MPG 01 Trainbot Shouki. They have a whole section on their site for him with lots of new pics and even a video on youtube showing the different features. Those include opening up the front of the train mode to have a minifugure drive. We also see a shot of Shouki with other MP figures and he is indeed MP scaled, which should make for a giant combiner. Speaking of which, we have a silouette of Raiden as well.

Also, there is some misinformation of the price online so please read this carefully. The MSRP of this toy is 18000 yen. Any price mentioned that is higher adds Japanese tax which only concerns Japanese citizens. Also, there will be an inevitable discount on Amazon that is routine with non exclusive figures since the prices sold at retail in Japan are always lower than MSRP. So, the price on Amazon Japan could go down to about $120 USD for Shouki in a week or two. Of course, you will have to add shipping and customs fees if that is applicable to your country (USA is not charged customs fees, lucky).

Here is the place to preorder this toy and be eligible for any price drop which is routine on such listings: https://www.amazon.co.jp/o/ASIN/B09HQPF ... rtron00-22
It will also tell you the time limit you have to cancel your toy if the price drop is not significant enough for you or if you change your mind.
