Maybe, but I'm not sure if it's to go with this guy or the rest of the RiD guys. What I mean is, it seems we now have 2 different scales for RiD gen figures. We recently for Scourge, Towline and sideburn is on the way, plus we had skybyte before. And all scale relatively well with eachother. But then we get Omega Prime which doesn't scale at all.

So if they make more RiD (which they are, with Sideburn for instance), I don't know which scale it will compliment.

Also Commander class is a perfect class for Gigatron to be released through.

Skybyte recently? If you mean the 30ths anniversary Generations toy, that was literally a decade ago lol...

I don't keep track of TF HasLabs but don't most all of them fund within the first 48? And the slowdown is generally that time in between till the last 48 where it can be like questionable if all the tiers will be unlocked. lol

A couple Non-TF Haslabs did fund fairly quickly (Ghostbuster fans seem to be the strongest backers). But the TF ones have been more even paced because they also are getting backers globally, and it takes more time to get their numbers added in. Usually it will have a really good 1st day (most between 40-50 % like we are seeing here).... then it will crawl for a couple weeks, with bumps (as stated earlier) when international backers are added. Unicorn had to have an unprecedented date extension to be funded. VS and DS all were funded probably with about 2 weeks to go, and FOMO+ international backers pushed everything past all the tiers in the last couple of days.

Nope.

Unicron's funding began July 15, 2019, and was originally supposed to end August 31. He required only 8,000 backers (the lowest required backer count of any TF HasLab), but he failed in his original funding window and had to be extended to October 6. He wasn't fully funded until October 5, the day before the deadline. The final backer count was "12,000+".

Victory Saber's funding began August 27, 2021 and ended October 10. He required 11,000 backers and was funded on September 29. His first bonus tier at 14,000 was reached on October 6, his second bonus tier at 17,000 was reached on October 8, and his third and final bonus tier at 20,000 was reached a mere ten hours before the deadline. The final backer count was over 27,000.

Deathsaurus's funding began on October 27, 2022, and ended December 12. He too required 11,000 backers and was funded on November 28. His first bonus tier at 14,000 was reached on December 5, and his second and final bonus tier at 17,000 was reached on December 11, the day before the deadline. The final backer count was 27,442.

Apologies, I'm way too lazy to quote properly.

3x more expensive than the originals were at retail twenty-three years ago, sure. But certainly not 3x more expensive than they are complete on eBay years later, or than they'd be as reissues.

Exactly, 3x more than I paid for the Japanese imports and 5x more than I paid for the local releases, so I aint paying that now or ever when I still have mine.

blackeyedprime wrote:removal of features...
There, you have more of a point. Although who knows? Maybe firing missiles (the feature it particularly hurts to lose) can be added as a stretch goal. And frankly, losing Ultra Magnus' electronics will be a net gain.
Its a sad day when losing electronics is considered a gain like Trypticon, Omega and more :( I cant have batteries or a rip cord on my Gi Joes, turtles or other non bot lines so I want electronics in some of my robots.
Even if it's best to leave batteries out I know i'm 100000% happy that my Ressiue Japanese G1 galvatron can make awful noises or encore Omega can go around his tracks.

blackeyedprime wrote:removal of quality (though the rubber wheels of the original might be debatable with them mostly not surviving time)
1. What are you even pronouncing "removal of quality" based on? Aside from giving up on the rubber tires, which even you are admitting didn't last well.
Lets face it the wheels have been bad on most of the car bots for the last soooo long. Inner pegs, outer pegs, metal pins, mismatched. To have these wheels be one piece plastic and not two piece is a lack of quality -and that is not even counting if they are chromed inners or not.

blackeyedprime wrote:Could these have been done at retail? With the £90 Commnder classes, yeagh thye probably could have.Plus then we might have got the yellow Optimus repaint.
1. Doing them at retail would probably have required two Commander slots in the same line in the same year or else shoehorning one of them into Studio Series, and they likely would have more sacrifices made instead of being able to do anything to improve on the originals.
Probably not, they get a lot of scope doing toys they can make a profit on selling for £45 selling for £90+ so they could have been commanders.

blackeyedprime wrote:Not really convinced on this over the originals but it's nice enough for those that want it and it's not superfluous like starsaber was so bonus points for that.
How was Star Saber "superfluous"? Don't forget that MP Star Saber has multiple joint issues by most accounts w/o aftermarket upgrades, and still has no accompanying Victory Leo without resorting to 3P toys. And last time I was looking at it on eBay, that 3P Victory Leo was like $300.
From the past so looong it looks like Hasbro promotes after market upgrades, they could have just relased v2 of the MP if they had the ability to improve on existing molds like Weijang :P Plus the MP toy scale works with recent toys as is. They just needed Takara to get off their butts and copy the third party Leo (it's not as though they didnt do that with MP ultra magnus).

Didnt Unicron only fund because they opened it to overseas backers late in the campaign or was that something else?
Pretty sure these will fund. It's pretty good for those that want it, hope they can do a megatron to go with them at some point for those that want that too.

I wasn't speaking TF's specifically a per my "I don't keep track" comment, I mean as a whole most of the "successfully funded HasLabs in general do meet the "fund" goal in the first few days. More specifically Marvel, Star Wars and also G.I. Joe tend to. Not counting the misfires like Ghostrider Rancor and Reva Saber.

I feel that Unicron was kind of a shock to most people at $600, that's what put me off being that I wasn't really into TF's at the time. And HasLab was still in its infancy back then only having the Barge under its belt with almost no advertising and awareness of the process not to mention limited access Globally. Once it opened up to more places they began to see higher backer numbers on average.

Additionally, wouldn't it be kind of boring for it to fund and meet all tiers in the first week? because in theory it wouldn't increase much more beyond that as there's no more incentive left. The slow trickle does add a bit of adrenalin rush to the mix while also giving people something to talk about during the campaign.

I told myself I wouldn't back this one because RiD isn't an impactful series to me. I had the original Prime/Magnus and they just didn't do much for me either.

Damn it all, it looks too good not to get.

I'm in for this, just waiting for payday to take the plunge. I still have my first reissue versions (Universe? Cybertron? Can't remember) and enjoy them, but the stability of the combined mode was always lackluster, and of course the tires are rotting off. It will be great to have modern versions on my shelf capable of holding epic poses, complete with display stands. Bluebolts becoming a full figure is an awesome bonus, and I never did get around to acquiring a giant sword, so those will be great too. I never got around to fully watching the show, but I have some major nostalgia for the original toys because they showed me Transformers were back. The good guys were cars and trucks again, and that literally paved my way into collecting. :)

Not sure if you are getting this through Pulse or a 3rd party site. But for Pulse, they wont charge you for the Haslab until midnight once the campaign has fully concluded. Good on you for having the money well in advance, but just wanted to let you know just in case.

So far, they never do for any preorders nor backing.

Also, it's cancellable before the deadline.

I was hypothetically keen, until I saw the pre-order price to get him in Australia. He's gonna be $750aud which is $490.90usd... so somehting isn't adding up. His USD price should only be 380 here :/

Okay, so at that point will it be the full price or a percentage? IIRC those who got Unicron got charged 10 or 15 percent at 1st and then the full price a few days before shipping. Maybe I'm remembering it wrong, IDK.

IIRC, both Victory Saber and Deathsaurus were each charged the full price in one go, instead of a down payment before the final total, since they weren't anywhere near as expensive as Unicron was.

I feel like a lot of the people saying this isn't anything special forget how fragile the original was. Most of the joints couldn't even hold poses due to the weight of the parts and the torso constantly came apart in either Super or Omega modes. He's an impressive shelf piece but really not fun to play with or pose. I have 5 OPs and and 3 UMs from the previous releases (plus the two Titaniums and the two Spychangers), he's my favorite Prime and I can't wait to add two more!

You're remembering third party sellers who charged a deposit at first and the rest at shipping.

Thanks, it'll be on Pulse. Just want to make sure I have the funds available in case they try to pre-authorize when I place the order so it doesn't get declined.

I have a friend/coworker who backed it and Pulse did reserve the entire $286 in his account. So while he didn't exactly get charged, he might as well have, because that's money he can't use unless he cancels his order.

That sounds like a payment hold and they depend on the bank/card issuer, not everyone gets them and they usually go away after 3 days or so.

If I don't bother being a Pulse Premium member, I'll have to pay 29$US in shipping. Fair enough. But when adding taxes, it amount to a whopping 319$US or 426$CAN.

That's 213$CAN for each bots.

Nope nope nope nope nope.
I don't have enough love for these characters to pay that price, justified or not.

See ya next time, HASLAB.
