A couple pretty cool bits from the livestream today, first is that the design team said they had a lot of demand for Mohawk and second is that Evan specifically mentioned the current concept art figures as the gateway to figures of characters from the Bayverse movie games, which would be awesome!

The extended cast roster for Studio Series September this year ended up being pretty well timed!

Mohawk's bike mode is pretty cool.

Megatron, don't know. Might wait until he goes on sale. The triple changing is a bit crude. Seems like tanks turning into jets is always a hard thing to get right. *cough,* looks at Legacy Blitzwing *cough*.

I'd have preferred a more faithful "concept art" rendition of this guy:

As opposed to a Movieverse adaptation.

Also really felt like they were trying to hint to some degree at Stratosphere coming in the future too

I agree, that Prototype looked really good in both modes, and you were hard pressed to tell it turned into the other mode.

But alas, the actual BB Megatron toy, does not even look like the concept art all that much in either tank or jet modes.

They mentioned the connection between BB Megs and Marauder Megs in the Pulse stream today. I saw a resemblance. But it is a very loose one. Another example of the original design being better than the modern interpretation IE Gamer Series Starscream.

To provide an update on the bundles, Legacy and Studio Series 86/BB packs have been spotted at retail. My local one only had Legacy, but there’s been no in-person sightings of the Studio Series Bayverse packs yet. The bundle initially labelled as TF2 bundle 2 had its named changed to Arcee and Sideways, someone on TFW ordered it and confirmed the naming is correct, which then raises questions about the “TF6 and 86 Bundle 1” which uses the picture of Arcee and Sideways.

Still no info on the TF5 bundle.

I spotted the MV6 Brawn and MV6 Ironhidde and SS86 Perceptor and MV6 Wheeljack bundles along with some from Legacy in my local Walmart. Those were the only 2 SS bundles I saw at my store.

Quick update, some of the packs just became available online! I ordered the ROTF Bumblebee and Jolt pack, looking forwards to a DOTM Jolt repaint!

Found the BB/86/Legacy packs at my local Walmart. They’re up in the front in the holiday section rather than back in with the rest of the toys:

I found the following two packs at my local Walmart last night:
BB Ratchet and Brawn
BB Ironhide and Arcee
BB Wheeljack and 86 Preceptor
Legacy Tarantulas and Elita-1
Legacy Skullgrin and Dead End
Legacy Wildrider and Knock Out

They're in the holiday section near the front, NOT the regular toy section.

Spruced up my paint work on DOTM Shockwave, Wheelie, Brains, and the NEST Soldier!

This is really such a great set, I hope it gets reissued so more people can get ahold of it. By the way, did you know that Shockwave's horns in DOTM are asymmetrical? I didn't find out until someone else pointed it out recently, and the Studio Series figure actually reflects that too!

Picking up this discussion from the 86 thread,

Which live action characters would you like to see in Studio Series Commander Class?

My first pick would be DOTM Devcon! That'd be a proper size for how he appeared on screen and has been surprisingly popular in stuff like the fan vote we held the other year. He's a more obscure character, but we're also getting Magmatron as a Commander, so obscure characters are on the table!

If we get a core class AOE/TLK Knight Prime to go with SS Grimlock, a Commander Dragonstorm to fit that same relative scale would be great! I like the idea of 3 bots or so that are roughly Optimus height in robot mode (thus scaling with standard Studio Series in robot mode) that then works with core class figures/ Grimlock in robot mode.

Similarly going with that core class scale, ROTB Stratosphere would be a good pick! He really needs a figure.

The dinobots are tricky because they'd be titan scale in actual SS scale (if not bigger), so I'd probably like to see the rest as Leaders just to scale with Grimlock, and then we get some aforementioned AOE core class Autobots to go with them.

Demolishor as a non-combining new mold Commander class would be awesome, but a repaint of Scavenger would be much more likely.

Stratosphere would be cool, or a really nice lockdown with all the bells and whistles

They're not gonna do a Deluxe-sized Lamborghini as a Commander class.

Okay, but I was asked what I would like. Not what was realistic
Deluxe toy sucks, voyager price point would probably make it better

I could see a "voyager" Lockdown. Improve the engineering, increase the parts count, and manage to hide as much car kibble as possible à la Unique Toys Perukill. Finalise the set by adding his huge face-sniper canon and a cyber dog.

If it was something I expected to happen, then yes. Expectations should be reasonable
But a little pipe dream never hurt anyone

That would be pretty cool
Though I think with cyber dog and proper face cannon they'd make that a leader
Unless the dog is sold separately as a core class or something, maybe a set of 2

With the tiniest "leader" ever that is ROTB Optimus Primal, I can definitely see that happening. #-o

I’d personally love to see SS try a Lamborghini Mirage, since the proper Porche one has way too much kibble in robot mode.

Didn’t realize we were exclusively talking about the commander class.
