I myself skipped over the Hasbro Aerialbots (minus newcomers Alpha Bravo and Powerglide) in favor of waiting for Takara's Superion, which is currently still in my HLJ Private Warehouse since I'm waiting for my next paycheck before shipping him (BotCon and other payments really did a number on my bank account).

So what would that roughly translate to,
18400 yen = ~$149.59 USD

So possibly way better than any price so far, as per usual from amiami, so what other costs would then be applied? Tax, import, shipping? I've never imported anything, what would something like devs cost, and how does international tax/shipping work?

Being in my "Jerk mode".......should these discussion on the exchange rate be relegated to the Pm section? If I wanted to know about the FX rates I'd have looked elsewhere     "Jerk mode off"

He'll be mostly (the price of Devastor) around the price shajster postulated. Around the price of Metroflex. Given that, I hope we don't hear that the "D" man is overpriced. The intricacies of 6 individual vehicles merging into one figure (when each vehicle also transforms individually) should also be considered.

Yup, that's me. :HEADHURTS:

You do realise Quickslinger and Brake-Neck are online-only, right? There was one single store sighting, but consider that one a fluke.

To be fair, he could have picked up a/b, rook and offroad and cyclonus; if he is going all in on the uw line and wanted a combiner >:oP

"They're doing it again mommy!" "Nasty Takara Tomy is baiting us gaijin with a much colorful, almost anime/toy accurate plus new mold component version of Guardian/Defensor!" "Make them stop.! Please!"

"Why didn't they just allow it to be sold online retail and not an exclusive...?"

Seriously now I've manned up enough and not being a princess to have made arrangements so as to acquire this piece o' plastic crack but he's still due this October......TFYuki should give Menasor more P.R. time :P

Hopefully "Guardcity" would be mass released

They did 'quicksling' and the other guy - I imagine they may well do a Hasbro version of Deluxe Groove...

Except both of those seemed to have been in Hasbro's plans from the get-go, whereas more evidence leans towards Deluxe Groove having been all Takara's doing without Hasbro's input.

I like those guns.

I would buy deluxe Groove if he was available, but I'm happy enough to at least have A Groove.

This much has been concluded. But that doesn't rule out the possibility of Hasbro releasing it next year or something, in a similar arrangement. Especially if they cough up one more bonus character so the cases aren't 8 Grooves and nothing else. Or maybe Takara will release Groove individually in a year or two. Mostly, I think all of us want to avoid having to buy the entire UW Defensor just to get this deluxe Groove, and we're not thinking with as much clarity as we might otherwise. >_>

The pic of the box set really does highlight how out of proportion Groove is in comparison to the other vehicles.
Just look how much bigger he is than Blades! At first i really wanted a Groove but the more i think about it the more i'm content with the Hasbro set up.
I can pass on this set and be totally o.k with it.

His guns do look pretty rad with the crystal plastic lights on them i gotta admit. Nice touch!

I think I'm cancelling my UW-03 pre-order. The vehicles just aren't very appealing and there are other figures I'd much rather spend that money on. I have Rook, which is likely the one with the most posable, interesting robot mode. The rest are kind of meh.

edit: Oh right, forgot I also have the Legends-sized motorcycle that I haven't bothered to open.

Same G1 mass shifting disproportional goodness back in 1985.

Btw jay5, where'd you order your UW-03? Mighty nice of them to allow cancellations. BBTS?

Nice shot of the old school Defensor combiners! Good point about the motorcycle always being out of scale.

I'll let you know if/when the cancellation goes through. It's over six months away from arrival, so shouldn't be a problem. Plenty more pre-orders for it will occur in the ensuing six months, so the unit can be easily re-allocated.

edit: PM'd answer.

I hear what you're saying, but for a combiner with only two new molds its RIDICULOUS how much I ended up loving Defensor. Rook and Hotspot are simply amazing, and the other ones made me feel like I was handling the molds for the first time! I can't recommend him enough, I think you'll be missing out if you pass on him. And if its about the uber dollars it ll cost for TT's, then skip that and just go for Hasbro's ;)^

:-? I really love the TT deluxe Groove and I have the legends one currently. I have the TT set on preorder from BBTS. The price factor is making me think about going for the Hasbro set instead. All this talk of the possibility of seeing dekuxe Groove stateside or even individually from Takara has me thinking indeed... :-?

I'm getting Hasbro Rook together with A/B as an extra limb. On the fence for the 4x4 pickup Stunticon. Unless those bloodsuckers at TT release another stand alone TAV category for the above 3.

I am totally there. Its pretty crazy too but even though I had both dead end AND brake-neck (which didnt feel new to me at all), Streetwise felt new. I am so impressed at how different he is. It's just like in G1 where they had a similar transformation but looked totally different. And First aid was completely different. Also, that mold makes a way better arm since the pegs actually work and fit tightly with the holes for his robot arms in arm mode. And I never had alpha bravo (waiting for UW Superion which should come in monday (see, its relevant to this thread)), so Blades was a completely new mold for me.

I would like to repeat this for the upteenth time because of my boundless enthusiasm wj88, Silverbolt and the rest of the gang are great! Handling them, marveling at the design choices (nope no licking the toy, that's tffanboy's gig) makes me want to salute the designers.

Of course not fair to compare with the 3rd Party not Superion but how Silverbolt is essentially upside down when in Superion torso mode really knocked me off! And he ain't all wobbly like the original G1 (see this for a hillarious take on Superion at http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Superion_(G1), those dingdongs never fails to get me to laugh )

An issue that might bother you would be some paint chipping. Air Raid and Skydive's black painted over tabs/pegs will scratch off when you unflod their legs.

The other jets are great too. TT did what they can to placate the OCDs among the fandom (me included) so no biggie if they didn't make an exact F4 Phantom or Harrier Jumpjet.

prepare for a few long hours of oggling and gameplay.

I have a question for those who owns a Silverbolt. Once you connect the two parts that make up his electro static gun, is it permanently attached already and can't be separated?
