The price diference sometimes varies by 500 to 800 Yen. Depending on the store.

I'm really tempted to buy this now, but there is something I feel inherently troublling in a seller who requires payment on preorder right away. Maybe that once was normal, but I have never had to deal with it from a vendor before. Is that weird?

Patience friend. Though I had to fork over cash for Guardian as it it an exclusive. Devs is not so either you try BigInJapan (no cash needed yet) or wait for the other big hitters like amiami, hobbysearch or hlj.

HLJ is usually pricier since their discount is 20% not 30%. Anime Export is the cheapest but they require payment right away. That's how they can offer the best discounts, their company has perfect cash flow and they know they will always order as much as they can sell.

Ok, so I got my Superion and while I much preffer Hasbro Menasor as a team of toys (since they are all different), there is no denying that the Superion combined form is far suerior to any combining robot Hasbro and Takara ever made. He is as solid and balanced as a non combining supreme class toy. His center of balance has no equal. And since I will keep him in combined form (since I find the individual figures a but lackluster), I am glad I got the takara version. I love how the yellow gets replaced by gold, it's perfect.

Also, I much preffer the skydive and ar raid mold for arms since they have pegs for the robot arms to stick perfectly to. The others dont seem to have that and I dont like having extra bits be all loosey goosey. SO this is my preferred combination:

Hey guys, I have a question to those who got their UW Superions. I just got mine and it didnt come with the coin. Did all of yours come with it?

Also, that picture of the aerialbots having some energon for bbq is not a litograph, it is he backof the instruction booklet.

they actually do have pegs to lock in. if you rotate the shoulders up, and fold the arms straight down their back, the cutout in their forearms will match the shape of the canopy kibble, and on their back are 2 little tabs they can grab with their fist holes. granted they dont grab the tabs fantastically securely, but it was very obviously designed for that configuration.

I dont have any pics on hand, but it looks pretty solid.

No coin I'm afraid wj88. Mine's from amiami as well. Btw, you can also try this combo:

1. Fireflight and Slingshot arms
2. Skydive and Air Raid legs.

ala Scramble City of old Studio Ox.

I see, thanks! The reason it didnt hit me was because those tabs didnt seem to be made for the hands but it works. That's great becasuse while I preffer the other 1 for the cool shoulders, I do preffer Slingshot and Firefly for the sleeves.

I got UW Superions via TFSource, and they didn't come with coins either. :(

By the way, Billy-J, how are you liking the "whites" on your UW Superion? Looks like all the hands and feet were molded from the same white plastic as Silverbolt, which itself is a whiter (less creamy/off white) shade that the Hasbro version. All the other limbs seem to share the same shade of white, so while you don't have the uniformity you wanted, at least the hands and feet match the torso, so there is some symmetry to the layout, which is pleasing to me.

The ONE gripe I have is that they didn't make Sky Dive's blaster WHITE. Air Raid has the same blaster, and it's white. Fireflight's and Slingshot's guns are both white. Why this one difference? It's the same problem with the Hasbro version too, though instead, Air Raid is the odd one out, as Fireglight and Quickslinger/Alpha Bravo have black guns matching Sky Dive's. It's not so much of a problem, except that you're supposed to store the blasters (the double-barreled ones, at least) on Superion's thighs, but it creates a color mismatch. Odd choice, Takara.

These figures from Japan will never come with a coin. Hasbro Asia distributes the figures with coins (under TakaraTomy's name typically). So you'd either have to go to a non-Japan based retailer to get the coin (that is if they offer it).

The gun is tied to the plastic on the figure. That's why Air Raid's is always white and Skydive's is always black. Air Raid's is likely tied to either his legs or his chest center, same goes for Skydive. As they share those parts between them and they match the respective figure's weapon.

Air Raid's gun is also not the same color as Slingshot's and Fireflight's, because it's tied to the white on the figure and not the white on the hand (which is the same white as Silverbolt and not the same white used on the smaller figure's bodies).

I actually like the cream white since it highlights the sculpting better than a "pure white" would, which surprised me. So yes there is a nice symmetry to him. To the point where he is better than the sum of his parts. He looks so glorious and the white everywhere helps. I didnt know about placing the guns on the hips, I might try that out. Maybe keep skydive as a leg and put the black gun on the opposite hip to make an interesting contrast.

I have the Hasbro version and I prefer that configuration too. Plus the wings look a little less ridiculous. As legs, Skydive and Air Raid have very protrusive wing bits where the others do not :BOT:

I don't understand where you're saying the colors don't match on Slinghot's, Fireflight's, and Air Raid's guns. None of them are the same cream white color as Silverbolt or the combiner hands and feet. They're all the same shade of white, even if from different sprues, because the same white plastic was used for the limb bots. I can understand why Sky Dive is the odd man out because of this. He has no white plastic in his figure. However, Takara has gone the extra mile to rectify this before. Also consider, how are the combiner fists and feet gang-molded? From the Takara version, it looks like they're on the same sprue as Silverbolt, BUT the Hasbro version contradicts this. Where would all the black plastic come from otherwise? Are the hands and feet their own separate mold altogether? Weirder still, if you own the Hasbro version of Menasor, you'll know the purple of the hands and feet don't all match. I'm expecting that to be mysteriously rectified with Takara's version due out in August.

Technically he's right, breakdowns hand/foot thing is painted black plastic, you can tell something is up because it's color doesn't match the thumb section at all, or any others.

It's mainly evident on Breakdown's weapon. The main part looks like it's painted on instead of being molded in.

Well thanks, I try to stay open-minded about most stuff.
And overall, I'm pretty laid-back. Ask my wife; she'll say I'm too laid back sometimes!

I think part of the issue is when people voice their opinions like it's law, or disputable truth.
That, and as you're saying, basically complaining to complain.
No, I don't like everything that's in the CW line.
But me thinking others want to hear/read that is pretty silly.
Let alone if I go out of my way to bash on someone's opinion, preference, or purchase.

More on topic, my Motormaster and Hotspot showed up today!!!!
First Aid is scheduled to get here tomorrow (and was still part of that free shipment from HTS).

Within the next two weeks I'll be ordering the TT Superion.
Last night I went ahead and ordered the PE hand/foot sets for both him and Menasor,
and caved and bought both PE sets for Devastator.

After Supe, I'm going to pump the brakes quite a bit with my purchases... Maybe even until we hear about the TT Bruticus.

Can one of the fans with a much better understanding of the Japanese language (JelZe, Sabr?) answer this one for me? I can see the United Warriors Superion box calls out the original Hasbro names in the English/Latin script, but does the accompanying Japanese script follow the recent pattern of using the original Japanese names? E.g., is "Slingshot" also identified as simply "Sling" in Japanese, etc.?
