As to Will's question also, I actually don't particularly like either of them as Kup to be honest. I don't actually have TR Kup yet so I can't give much of a personally-informed opinion on the figure itself, but I'm pretty turned off by the color-scheme and weird face (won't stop me from buying him as soon as I see him though! Seems like a great mold if not a great Kup). I've never had Gen Kup either, but I do have GDO Swerve, so I can say that I find that mold to be a bit too finicky and kibbly for my tastes. Bottom line, I honestly can't see Kup very much in either of his two Generations molds (nor his PRiD one either, which is my current all-purposes Kup figure). At this point it seems to me that Kup is in pretty much the same boat as Ironhide: perpetually getting toys that almost work but fall just short enough that I'm always disappointed by the end result.

Heh, that didn't actually answer your question at all did it? For what it's worth TR Kup will be my Generations Kup once I get him; mostly because I don't find either version better than the other, and it's a heck of a lot easier to just buy a toy off a shelf than to hunt for a well-priced good-condition secondhand one on eBay.

Kup looks like a fun toy, but my Kup needs are already filled by the Prime figure, which I actually quite like even with its issues. If they retooled/redecoed it though I'd buy it for sure- the question is who they'd do him as. It could work as a decent Ironhide IMO.

I could see that Ironhide, Black Hat!

I was pleased with the reinvigorated (?) version of him for CW, but that Kup config would suit him better.

I actually think Kup could make a half way decent Crosshairs.

That's the guy I could see them retooling this into. Been my thoughts since the first reviews came out

I was messing around with base modes this weekend and came up with this super tank mode using FortMax, Sixshot and Quickswitch.

Edit: rolls pretty nice too.

Broadside disappeared from TFSource, but they do have the legends class dudes up for pre-order. I pre-ordered Brawn and Chase together to go with Artfire, so they'll get to me around the end of May

No they don't. You have to fiddle around with the transformation a bit to find the fight angle, but there are 3 clear wheels that end up on the bottom and the legs/treads peg into the main body. It's kind of weird because these have to be built into the design and are only used for tank mode, but no mention at all in the instructions.

Most excellent! It's great to see this wave altogether -- the only one I do not plan to buy is Krok! Kup and Percy look too good for me to pass up.

Is the general consensus that Krok and Quake look better than the original uses of the molds, fitting body aside? I've seen nothing but praise for them aside from the aforementioned that's-not-what-they-actually-looked-like-in-fiction-and-original-toy thing. Which is a pretty big thing, but when I don't really have attachment to any of these characters aside from Krok...

Kev, I was thinking about you the other day, knowing you had scored Kup and Perceptor at Walgreens. If you don't mind, where do you hail from? Walgreens distribution is a puzzle to me and I'm just curious the size of your market. And have you seen all of them except Topspin?

I'm not the general, but I would go with, "as good as".
I think all four have great decos, and the Wave 4 duo, do a great job of laying down a, I'ma different guy vibe.

I'm in the Chicago area. Live in the south burbs, work in the north burbs, each with about 15 Walgreens within a reasonable drive. Good luck trying to figure out Walgreens distribution. You are right, I've found all of wave 4 except Topspin.
