Shockwave7--I may be reading your context wrong, and if that's so, my apologies. But this comment reads in such a way that there is a definite undertone of racism, and we really don't want to get down that road. So let's keep the topic of Lockdown's appearance to just that, and avoid speculations that are racially offensive in tone.

Yeah I'll be honest, I don't see minstrel show, I actually see Transformer vladimir putin, the Sagging mammaries formed from carparts, the "Hairline" formed by the the helmet pulled back, the no nonsense characterization, i'm just making things up for the fun of it now Image

This. A majority of Age of Extinction (nay, a majority of decisions the new team's making, i.e oddly colored Sunstorm) toys in a nutshell.

No it don't. Far from it. The dinobots alone are amazing. The cars are very great too! There's lots of paints aps, the figures dont feel as cheap as the early Generations FOC deluxes, and they even are getting bigger!

I just don't understand what the hell you guys are whining about. The fawk do you want? Tiny MPs for 9$?!

Good grief. :BANG_HEAD:

Let's be fair, the Hero Mashers don't have to transform, so they can basically look however they dang well please. Decent sculpts, I guess, but not my thing. I might pick up the Bulkhead one, but other than that, nah.

Lockdown seems... Adequate, I guess? There' nothing there that really seems any worse than the average movie toy, but at the same time, there's nothing that really captures my interest, either. It's a fairly standard moviebot design.

I do kinda like the looks of that one-step Slug. I'll probably go for it once it's released on its own, but I'm not particularly interested in any of the others in that set (except Grimlock, who I have already).

Power Battler Optimus has four arms. Weird.

...And does ANYONE actually want those Titan Hero/Titan Guardian figures? I mean, if they're going to be making non-transforming Transformers toys, they can at least put some effort into it. The Robot Replicas figures from the first two movie toylines are a case in point, as is the Power Bots Bumblebee from the Animated toyline.

Looks good to me. I don't feel it's right to compare the AOE figures to the first trilogy figures. Those had plenty enough screen accurate kibble to work with. In my opinion, this Lockdown does a good job of storing any kibble. Especially when his character model is one of the most human looking among the new designs that show hardly any vehicle mode parts at all. Unfortunately, It looks as if this may be the first Lockdown to not include his hook hand. Or at least I don't see it.

Looks good. Has gun face. He's a Lambo. And I can probably get him for $10. I'm happy. :D

I'm not comparing the AOE figures to the ones from the first three movies. I guess all I'm really trying to say is that to me, that Lockdown looks a tad, well, generic.

Well some people like it more detailed and complex and some easy and cheap! I don't know which cars you're referring as "great" with lots of paint apps.I haven't seen those anywhere! And all recently released AoE toys are very cheap looking compare to the first two movie figures.Starting with scout all the way to leader class!
Just my opinion!

See, the Japanese Movie Advanced line makes Lockdown look really nice! I'm sure folks will like the Hasbro version once we get him in-hand, and have the chance to transform him properly.

I don't understand folks who make blanket statements like "these AOE toys look cheap and don't even compare to the first Movie Trilogy" - that's willfully ignoring a lot of missteps throughout the 7 years of movie toys we've gotten. DOTM was as bad as ROTF/HFTD was great. For every Battle Blade Bumblebee, you're going to have a handful of Rampages.

Given Hasbro's goal of simplifying the toys to make parents & kids less frustrated, and what we thought that would mean for us, I have to give Hasbro a lot of credit for not leaving collectors in the dust. So far, the dinobots have exceeded my expectations, the voyagers have generally bene very, very well done, and the Leaders to be, though smaller, very nice overall.

None of the figures are perfect by any means, but I am very excited for Deluxe & Voyager Drift, and Lockdown, too. I just hope I'm as impressed with the movie, but that might be a longer shot. :P

This. I'd also really like some proper new Cyberverses but the AoE line is trying something new with all those instant-change lines. Whatcha gonna do...

So far, the only thing I truly hate are those "dollar store" action figures that are mainly unpainted, unposable bricks. WHO BUY THAT?! Those horrible hunk of plastics sell for a premium too!

I'll definitely get all 3, voyager first but yknow :CON:

They don't seem to like making expensive Decepticon toys any more, other than in the Masterpiece and Platinum lines. The only Decepticon larger than a Voyager in the Dark of the Moon line was Human Alliance Soundwave, and that saw a somewhat limited release (I know it was never released stateside, but I'm not sure what other countries were intended to get him but wound up not getting him). Likewise, the entirety of the Transformers Prime toyline had not a single Decepticon larger than a Voyager (unless you count Predaking, but he's a Predacon so I count him separate). Not to rain on your parade, but I highly doubt a Leader class Lockdown is forthcoming.

It's disappointing how little the villains of the movies are regarded, in both the films and in the toylines. The Big Four went down like nothing in the last movie, especially Megatron who was barely in it. They gave Skids, Mudflap and Jolt DOTM toy updates, but Soundwave got NOTHING domestically.

And now, Stinger is going to be a repaint, Galvatron is only a voyager, and Lockdown (the advertised villain) is a deluxe going up against 2 Leader heroes and an army of Dinobots. I'm worried we're going to get another Shockwave; all hype with minimal activity, screentime, or payoff.

Overquoting to say YEAH, WHERE THE HELL ARE MY :CON: TOYS?! So far, only Lockdown and Galvatron are announced. That's fwaking it.
By the way, for a voyager carformer, :BOT: or :CON: , they should bring back the Human Alliance back. This is the only way this could work. As for now, the HA line is pretty much gone and show no signs of coming back.
