Well crap, my Wheeljack has a left hip that is frozen in place and won't budge. Looks like Hasbro is continuing their tradition of having QC issues on a wave 1 deluxe.

Hope I can find another this weekend.

:BOOM:

Edit: No luck finding a replacement today, so I took a pair of glass pliers (basically regular pliers with a wide flat surface that can grab sheet glass without scratching it) and was able to work the hip joint loose and break the extra glue from the crotch piece that was holding it in place. Crisis averted for now and I didn't scratch up the hip in the process.

;)^

Ah man, shout out to my my younger bro for always checking the toy aisles and sending me pics of the Transformers he sees. This guy was found in a Walmart somewhere in Phoenix. I didn't even want Grapple but I got Earthrise fever and he's one of the figures we really haven't seen in hand yet. So glad I got him! The head is classic G1 cartoon, all big headed lol, and the transformation is pretty sweet. I don't have Omega Supreme so I don't know if the grapple really does anything with the ramps like it says it does but it looks pretty cool in both modes to me.

So anyone hoping to see any new Earthrise toys at Wonder Festival are going to be disappointed I'm afraid, looks like Toy Fair will be the place to be.

Honestly, Earthrise at Wonder Fest was a bit of a long shot considering Hasbro tends to love doing the big "Look what we got in store for you! And you can pre-order it right now!" and having Takara reveal anything would have lessened the Wow factor

Dunno Takara got to reveal Devesator in all his full glory, same with Overload and Scrapper

Wonderfest was the Studio Series show, There have been way too many fairs in the past year that have only had new Siege/Earthrise stuff, but absolutely no SS stuff.

This was a fair for other stuff, I am content with no Earthrise stuff

I'm curious if the ER Arcee rumor was really MP Arcee or is she still coming to ER?

Honestly the main thing I was hoping to see was that rumored Doubledealer. I'm sure we'll see it at Toy Fair, but I was hoping to see some Earthrise stuff at Wonderfest because if I remember correctly, we saw Siege grey models there. I mostly liked seeing the details that were present on the molds

I noticed on the Hasbro Pulse page for Grapple it lists three weapon accessories and on TFWiki it says he should come with a nozzle. But he doesn't. And it isn't missing, there is no indentation for a nozzle in the plastic encasement or whatever you want to call it. I noticed they stopped using the plastic ties so I don't need my wire cutters anymore when opening a new figure ;)^ but this supposed nozzle, has anyone here ever seen anything about Grapple coming with a nozzle?

NYCC 2019, as the TFWiki sourced that from:

It missing may seem odd, but it's not unprecedented: PotP Snarl was shown with a weapon that tabbed over his Dino Mode head (based on Pretender Monster Bristleback's), but the final release didn't come with it.

Toybox Soapbox did an Earthrise Grapple gallery for the Kapow Toys Facebook page, and his gallery shows the nozzle. Unfortunately the gallery does not include unboxing photos, so I don't know where it would be.

The nozzle is probably a piece that will be included with Inferno

Looks like it's plugged onto the side of the crane arm in your pictures.

The listing featured an accompanying price that matched the Deluxe pricepoint.

Ah yes, the prices. So is this year of the Arcee?

I'm digging that nozzle storage. I wish more weapon/accessory storage was that well integrated.

I found and bought Cliffjumper yesterday. Tiny, but a really great figure, even with parts forming. Can't say he is worth the deluxe price point, but I also don't regret buying him. Kinda like Studio Series Jazz.

I feel inclined to forgive the partsforming given the accessories. And I like the staggering heights, the attention to scale without dropping a whole size/price class is something I dig. I feel like I’m buying a primo Marvel figure like Cliff is Puck or something it just works for me.

That sums up my thoughts as well. Really good figure, don't regret buying at all, but not thrilled about the price point. The old $10 Legends price would be too low, but the $20 deluxe seems a little high.

So integrated I thought it was just a painted part of the mold, didn't even realize it was removable till it was pointed out

If it makes you feel any better, I was looking at it and thought "Wow, can't believe Hasbro didn't paint the otherside. I know they do that with Nerf, but Transformers? Seriously?"

That is pretty interesting because I can confirm the Earthrise micromasters and deluxes all still use the ties.

I wonder how they will handle Astrotrain. The Siege release not only used the ties, but also used one in a way I had never seen before. A single tie going across his waist and through both fist holes.

You're right, I got the Hot Rod Patrol and it did have the plastic ties. Grapple though had no ties and the plastic encasement was molded in a way to keep the figure and accessories in place but it felt like I had to apply to much pressure to pop the figure out. The accessories wasn't a problem but when pulling Grapple himself out I was worried about the hands and shoulders.

I think it may be a figure by figure thing. I've seen a mix of column A and column B on various figures from different lines. For example, the body is tied down, but the legs are held in by the plastic shell.

I wish they'd go back to the raffia like ties they were using for a while. No tools and very little effort required. Also reusable if you were into keeping the boxes.
