Just to put in my own two cents on RtS Jazz:

1. The Takara Tomy "United" release is the superior version

2. It is a gorgeous toy, almost "Masterpiece" worthy

3. It's a pain in the butt to get the window speakers tucked away just right in alt mode.

4. The toy is just too big now for modern collections, unfortunately.

Just say Jazz inherited the Matrix (or got jazzed up after getting his own personal Matrix). ;)

So, you know what I want? A 3P kit for Cluffjumper to make him into an El Camino type car/truck. Extra points for a working tailgate. I'll call him El Cliffmino. It could totally work. Please 3P make it happen.

Went to Target tonight for Valentine's day (yeah, we are that type of couple  ) and amazingly, there was no Earthrise. They still had Siege wave 1 in every. class.

Still have the wave 1 battlemasters, wave 2 micromasters, wave 1 deluxes, wave 1 voyager, and wave 1 leaders. I was amazed.

Guess I don't need to worry about finding these new guys soon thanks to that

I don't know about that, you just need to line the grooves up with the tabs on his windows.

That, I have to disagree with you on entirely.

I think he's still quite viable. He does end up as a tall boy, but not horrifically so.

Considering the Hasbro version is $40 on ebay and the Takara is easily $80 or more, I'm gonna hold out hope for an Earthrise Jazz, or even whatever the next line is. Jazz is just too much of a G1 classic to not be in this trilogy.

That was my point. He is a staple. Need him in this phase. Plus the siege line has done such a great job with the G1 vehicle alt modes and scale.

PotP Jazz isn't up to the standards of WfC, but he's about the right size and has decent modes. I'm not saying he's great, but he seems right at home beside Sideswipe. I'm much more interested in the other '84/'85 characters we haven't seen since T30 than the second Jazz in two or three years.

Hmmmm. Good point- which 84/85 characters are you thinking of?

Deluxe cars are simple. '84 we just need Trailbreaker and Sunstreaker. The first is practically guaranteed as a retool of Hoist, and Sunstreaker is also probable, possibly as a Wheeljack retool. '85 is Inferno from Grapple, Tracks, and Skids. Skids is the only one that probably needs a brand new mold.

Other than that, though, we're due for some minibots. The last Brawn and Windcharger are fine, and the recent '85 bots are perfect, but we need proper versions of Huffer and Warpath. My secondhand T30 Gears has some faded paint, so I wouldn't mind him getting an update. I'm treating Earthrise Bumblebee as a certainty.

Once all of that is settled, then I'll be happy for a new Jazz.

Big list.

I think Hasbro missed the boat on the mini bots. They were key G1 characters - could’ve gone with a mini bot series instead of the micro masters and been in good shape. Cliffjumper reboot in Earthrise is a tad too big. Nostalgia alone would’ve carried the mini bot reboot to a mid price point (above $9.99 micromaster) and I know I would’ve paid $14.99ish for siege mini bots.

Aronjlove, that's what reissues are for. Although he'd probably have to lose the speakers.

Well, as I've said (a couple times now, I think) we're definitely getting Sunstreaker thanks to the Wheeljack mold (They have very similar transformations, and the way Earthrise Wheeljack's lower legs are done... Well, have a look below).
Image
I realize that we technically had Sunny semi-recently in Combiner Wars, but that one's a Breakdown mold in a Sunstreaker suit.

As for the others not adequately covered by SIEGE or Prime Wars...
* The Coneheads seem likely, given the design of the the ER Seeker mold.
* Inferno and Trailbreaker are gimmes.

That leaves Skids, Blaster, Cosmos (well, I suppose the T30 version got reissued in PotP), Huffer, Gears, Warpath, Tracks, Whirl, Roadbuster, the Omnibots, and the Deluxe Insecticons to be determined.

News flash buddy: Several of the Minibots were covered by Prime Wars already.

The mini bots in prime wars and titans return were weak. Off scale and clunky. The siege micromasters today are 100% the same scale/version of the mini bots 35 years ago. That’s all I’m saying- it would be cool to see that run again. Maybe “slightly” bigger than the micro masters- barley. It would be cool. But that’s just my take. Not right, not wrong- just my vision.

Long shot, but I'm kind of hoping that if we do get a Sunstreaker, it comes with an optional Hunter O'Nion Titanmaster. It's not G1, so I doubt that we'd see that, but I still wish that we had gotten that in Titans Return

1. Prime Wars is the trilogy that contains Combiner Wars, Titans Return, and Power of the Primes, so saying "Prime Wars and Titans Return" is redundant and ignorant.
2. So, you're saying that they're "off scale" because they were made bigger than the original Minibot toys to be IN scale with the similarly bigger-than-the-G1-toy versions of the rest of the cast? I don't think you know what scale means. :HEADHURTS:
Or "Clunky" for that matter, because they have decent articulation for their small size. I know, I own some of them.

Better versions of the Mini Bots that are roughly the same size? We had that in the earlier years of CHUG the original Legends scale before they "grew up". They ended up doing a pretty big chunk of the characters in that run.

Image

Reaction was kinda mixed. They were nice figures, but they didn't feel quite right with the rest of CHUG. The rebranded Legends scale during the Prime Wars Trilogy felt much more like part of the same line and scaled better with the rest of the figures.

Cliffjumper does make one thing possible and that's six-bot Combiners like Monstructor/Dinoking since it doesn't seem like we'll ever be getting those Dinobot and Terrorcon retools. A smaller bot with extra accessories could make it possible to bulk up the combined form with the extra parts needed to hold the whole thing together along with weapons, head, fists, and feet. It wont happen, but it's nice to know they've left a possibility open by redefining what it means to be a Deluxe.

Redundant, maybe, but ignorant? No, that’s not necessary.

Also they’re extremely clunky. I don’t think you know what clunky means.

Can confirm what everyone already "knew", the Astrotrain releases are the same. Not even a G1 vs Movie style symbol difference! At least I got the Caminus map piece out of it?

He seems like he’d be in scale with TR Broadside’s Airialbots. Like if they combined into a mini Superion- you can aaaaalmost see a Devastator fitting in there.

They could have at least given us some roughly painted Decepticon slugs to jettison.
