Since we're having all kinds of combiner fun, here is the current Battle Core Maximus team, awaiting 1 final member, and the 4 more random combiner teams I have assembled, complete with backstories: Sky Reign, Infernocus, Megascream, and Lost Lightatron

What stickers are those all over your Prowl?

I'm guessing the botcon sticker sheet for making Magnaboss.

Some random stickers I got from Walmart.

Back when I first got the Magnaboss sticker set, I didn't have nor have a hope of getting Tigatron nor Unit 3, so I used a Sunstreaker and Prowl to make a custom Cheetah Sunstreaker and TM2 Prowl-Owl version to have a proper beast combiner. When I got the extra blue Swoop and Selects Red Swoop AKA Ptero, I removed those 2 from Magnaboss. I stripped Sunstreaker's stickers and added him to Lost Lightatron, but I only removed PrOwl's Maximal symbols to go on Red Swoop, I liked the Owl look to his car mode, so I kept them.

Besides, I have 3 CW Prowls, so figured each could look different: police car, Magnaboss component, and PrOwl. I have 2 Sunstreakers, one on Op Max and one on Lost Lightatron, both the same, and 2 Ironhides, one Maximal, one autobot for their combiners.

Infernocus uses a 2nd Air Raid and Rook, and uses the only deluxe Groove I have. Smokescreen would be on Lost Lightatron in place of Sunstreaker if it weren't for the fact that Smokescreen and Inferno have been good buds in a couple continuities

I give you the end result of my pursuit for the ultimate team. 6 figures, from 6 different lines, 4 (if you follow the Manga 5) factions, from all walks of life and fiction.

I give you: Battle Core Maximus!

If you were to get the god neptune set, you could use the Sea Phantom version of Overbite to have it in all matching white.

I could, but I won't. I didn't want an all white combiner, this is just how the team ended up coming together. Impactor, Fractyl, Terrorsaur, Tarantulas, and Armada Thrust were all potential members for this team as well. I really like how it came out, I might try arranging the non-Tigatron limbs tonight to see which limb configuration I like best

Ratchet is really nice figure. The First Aid mold definitely was one of the winners of CW.

I am also trying out some configurations for Battle Core Maximus. Still haven't quite nailed down which configuration to use.

Whenever I use the Wheeljack mold as an arm, I always fold the front end all the way back. Makes for a bigger, more muscular-looking shoulder, and it doesn't stick up to block the combiner's vision. Works best if you use 2 of the mold as both arms.

Yeah, I do that depending on who is the opposite arm. I like sticking it up to mirror the other shoulder and to make him seem taller there.

i think i have found the configuration I like, messing with him more tonight. Ratchet as the right arm, Overbite the left arm, Tigatron the right leg, Starscream the left. I think it balances it out the most

I never liked the Lambo mold as a leg because I have a pet peeve about covering the combination/knee joints and that mold won't do it without the front end sticking straight out and that makes for an awkward leg. I always use a truck mold or a jet mold. It's also yet another reason I don't like Volcanicus, none of the Dinobots can properly cover the knee joint. For me that's Menasor's only saving grace, as I like configuring my combiners so they're Marvel comic-accurate, and I use Wildrider and Dead End as legs, and they cover the knees.

Well, when I do Menasor I have to rotate Motormaster's legs backwards because I have a first-run Motormaster with the faulty ratchets and foot sculpt and thus when I have the correct side of the legs facing out the Dead End mold whacks against the toes, so his knee sockets end up on the back.

Also, what do you mean none of the Dinobots can properly cover the knee joint? How can you possibly see it behind Snarl's tail? Unless you're talking about the cover being able to bend back with the knee?

Yeah the few times I combined them I had to bend the leg with Snarl because of how his tail splits and it just doesn't work.

You're supposed to have the tail closed during combination though.

It might work when I bend the leg, but it doesn't when the leg is standing straight, because the tail is angled too far back. But this is turning into a PoTP discussion, so let's get back to Combiner Wars. It's been so long since I've had Motormaster as Menasor's torso (I always use Cyclonus) I can't even remember if I have the defective one or not. I did buy him when they first came out, so probably. When you say you turn the legs around, do you do it individually, or can it be done at the waist to turn the whole lower body?

It can be done at the waist to turn the whole lower body. Doing it that way makes it so that the slope of Motormaster's toes is angled upward toward the back and thus does not bump against Dead End-mold limbs when you bend Menasor at the knee.

My preferred limb arrangement for Menasor is Dead End and Breakdown as legs, Drag Strip and Wildrider as arms. This is a carryover from how I like the G1 toy arranged - on the G1 toy, when you have Dragstrip and Wildrider as arms, you can lift their front ends up to give Menasor flared paldrons.

I also don't like the Breakdown mold as a leg, I like having the combiner peg armor for the leg armor bits. But in this case, I really want different molds as arms.

I just tried out my newly completed Bruticus in "Land Mission" (Brawl and Swindle as arms, Vortex and Shuttle Blast Off as legs), and honestly, I like it more than I thought I would. Really Brutish looking. :)

It's not my favorite, but I keep my UW Baldigus in that formation, as he used both in the animated series, and to further differentiate him from Bruticus.

Heh, in one episode, it's because he used Land Mission instead of Flight Mission that Fire Convoy was able to do this:

A notion that the English dub ignored and just let it happen without explanation.

At least UW Baldigus scales well with both Black Convoy and Fire Convoy.

I still need a Black Convoy and Baldigus to complete my RiD2001 pred/con shelf. I hate that a lot of the UW sets are so expensive now. outside of maybe Menasor and Superion, they are all like $300+
