I swear if the argument about the torso mold being a retool or not comes back I'm going to stop checking this discussion thread.

Man that bucket of fish looks AWESOME!!!
Can't wait to get my salty sea mits on them.

But, notice how he can't hold that weapon friend off of the ground?
Not that I expected he could.

What I was more suprised about was the fact the weapon limb was connected to the back of the hand.

Also I thought it was common knowledge that turtler was a retool? All the limbs are retools (extensive ones at that) it's not a bad thing. Now let's see the God Neptune repaint.

Nope and there really is only so many ways to make CW style combiner limbs/torsos.

The individual figures don't do much for me, but the combined Fishacon is pretty cool looking. Going be fun to watch from the side lines. All the limb bots can become a weapon correct? So that's five modes a piece, amazing  and awesome ;)^ amazesome :BOOM:

Maybe it's the pictures but that sword almost looks like a full trident staff.

What's being referred to is how, when POTP Hungrrr was revealed, a ton of people thought he was a retool of Silverbolt when in reality he just shares engineering about it. There was entirely too much talk on the subject, and now this mold, based on Hungrrr, has the chance to spark the same stupid argument again.

I don't think it's just the pictures. It looks to me like all six seacons' individual melee weapons combine to form a trident for the big guy, which is pretty nifty.

Turtler shares these parts with Hun-Gurrr:

- arms
- upper legs

And that's it, really, the core body is totally redone. And that's all people should care about: not whether or not something's a retool, but what parts are shared with who. By the by, when taken as percentages, Tentakil comes closest to Turtler with the amount of parts changed, with him retaining Moonracer/Firestar's core body instead.

Indeed, all Seacons come with both their own guns, and a melee weapon from the trident, like Victorion's sword. The breakdown:

- main body: Turtler's sword
- staff: Lobclaw's axe
- left and right prongs: Kraken's and Tentakil's blades
- center prong: Gulf's and Overbite's swords

I know everyone is excited about King Poseidon but I'm just happy I have all the Praxians together. Selects Smokescreen just showed up and joined Siege Prowl, 35th Anniversary Bluestreak, and Siege Barricade. I really wish Hasbro would sell a pack of blast effects...

Think of it as the toes and heels switching function

It's not a misassembly, rather it's a consequence of reorienting the base Cutthroat body while keeping the beast mode leg assembly as is. In fact, compared to Cutthroat, Kraken's waist is turned 180 in Beast Mode to acommodate the new tail.

There are five limbs as it is now, with the one that doesn't get to be an arm or a leg used as a large weapon in combined mode. Reducing the group to four limbs and a torso would make it just like any other Scramble City combiner style team. I don't see the issue, honestly.

Am I the only one here who thinks they'll just repaint Lobclaw red and call him Gimlet?

He'd be somewhat extraneous to God Neptune, but interesting to swap into the BotCon Predacus set.

Interesting idea, but that's more Hasbro's MO for not wasting resources. TakaraTomy has no problem leaving out (gang-molded) parts of a set if it means making a more accurate product. Heck, God Neptune would only have the trident for a weapon! That does mean the individual pirates would get weapons this time around.

So.... I was playing around Smokescreen today and noticed he got a gnarly scar from somewhere. Looks too deep to be caused from play.... anyone else got any defects in Select runs?

On one hand.... it’s kinda cool.... (wish it was on my Barricade though).

My best guess is that it's an air bubble from the molding procedure. I don't see any flash or cutting marks on him, it's all smooth.

So, if I missed the 8 day window on Hasbro Pulse, am I screwed out of getting these last two figures?

Got tired of refreshing pulse every day to see if Lancer and Smokescreen were back in stock and ordered them from BBTS. Not sure why but it irritated me having to do that.

Probably your best bet. I'm surprised Lancer came back to Pulse to begin with, that's a first for the selects

Question for those who got him: Is it worth it to get Selects Hot Shot if I already own the original? He is still in stock at pulse and looks good, but I'm not sure if I should leap on him

The original Hound? Yes, because the colors make the figure look different. The original Cybertron Defense Hot Shot? Nope, the newer figure possesses none of the gimmicks the original toy had that made it a fantastic figure.

So, when do you all think we'll see the other projects Takara's teased for SELECTS? I'm hoping we'll see more of the Armada Convoy and Super Megatron at the 2020 Wonder Fest

At the very least, Super Megatron should be the next one we see, based on what's been happening in the Selects manga.
