Those aren't stress marks: they are exposed catches for the soft ratchet joints. I just found out about them when looking at RID 2015 Grimlock in packaging, and having them exposed may have been a bad idea. I've seen multiple reports on the catches detaching or breaking, leaving Grimlock with a limp arm.

Mistake? What counts is that the name in Kana remains the same. Japanese uses no spaces between words in the same sentence, it's a long string of characters and kana, so it's up to the reader himself to discern the words. The only exception is the "forced space", denoted by ".", but it's usually only used for "the" which is a single kana (ザ
za).
