It was a Supreme Class mold.

This talk just hammers home how friggin weird the scale was on the Beast Machines toys. It's almost like they were trying to go for some unforseen giant scale with Supreme Cheetor/Primal, Ultra Nightscream, and Mega Rattrap. But then dropped the ball on, well, all the rest. The most accurate looking Thrust and Tankor's were basic's for crying out loud. That entire line needs a do-over. And I would pay all the monies for said do-over.

Indeed, BMach Redux would be awesome, scale up the tank and cycle drones to deluxe and get a more efficient design for the jet design, and they'd be off and running =P~

And maybe downscale this guy to voyager, or something, OH! and lose the dumb punching gimmick, and the light-up head, and give him a new head for Primus' sake, it's super creepy with it's hollow eyes and perpetual surprised-derp-face it's got going with it's mouth; if they did that, it would be sublimely perfect =P~

I was pretty content with the Voyager (Mega back then?) Primal. But I can't tell you how much I want a screen accurate Jetstorm. I loved the character and model to bits. He was the first TF I remember seeing that I said "damn... now THAT is an alien design". Which makes way the hell more sense than them sharing our humanoid forms.

Totally agree although I was super happy with the Supersonic Jet toy we got which had the more jetstorm accurate colours. He also had this cool option of having his feet in hover mode like the show.

I was content with the ugly first release Deluxe Primal with his energon throwing star, that looked nothing like the show character. But I'm the only one on the planet!
As a toy though, the Jetstorm we got was cool, and had a neat transformation, but he certainly didn't look like the show.

You are not. For years, that was my only BM Primal toy. I only just got the Mega class Blast Punch figure at last year's BotCon.

Hasbro Platinum Edition Year of the Monkey Optimus Primal Now Available on Amazon and TRU

While Platinum Year of the Monkey Optimus Primal has been available at retail in Canada as a Toysrus exclusive, it was unsure which retailer would be carrying this figure in the US.

It turns out this figure is NOT exclusive in the US since both Amazon.com and Toysrus are currently carrying this figure. They are both currently shipping and selling this figure for USD $149.99.

At this price will you be picking it up? If not, what price would make you change you mind? Let us know in the discussion!

150 US Dollars!

That's around 209$CAN! So, our 200/CAN price tag is close enough.

Still about 75% WAYYYYYY too expensive. >:oP

At $150 he's competing with MP-10 or even (more importantly) MP Primal.

In fact, I could buy MP Primal and still have room left for Hot Rod.

Crazy, crazy prices.

$40-$50 tops. It's not a Masterpiece figure, nor does it have complex engineering. It doesn't even have the excuse of being a convention exclusive.

While it's pretty and interesting... there are plenty of other things to spend my money on.

For the price of YOTM Primal, I could buy a full set of CW Combaticons, and then still go out for a nice dinner. >:oP

I saw him at TRU today. Nice lookin box. I'll admit, if it were say 150 (as opposed to its 200 CAD price tag) I'd have considered it.

Don't do it! You'd only show them that you endorse this behavior [-(

Well, it's based on the normal price for a leader figure is 60$CAN. So, an extra 20 bucks for Supreme class.
