I'm hoping that Cerebros will round out the second wave of Headmasters. If we're getting Chromedome, Hardhead, Brainstorm, and Mindwipe in Wave 1, that leaves only three more characters for Wave 2: Highbrow, Skullcruncher, and Weirdwolf. Adding Cerebros in there would round things out to give us an even four and four between the two waves.
Well we got Quake in TR with those figures, and even though he's not an original headmaster, Hasbro might find it easier just to rerelease him. But yeah, I would also LOVE a new Cerebros.

Since they are packaging them in alt mode, I want this to happen just so I can see him packaged as a severed Fort Max head. Sadly, they would probably just go with the "control tower" mode instead.

Chromedome and Mindwipe, please. Maybe Hardhead for the head (see my sig). Highbrow, Weirdwolf/Wolfwire and Skullcruncher/Skullsmasher... Are they intentionally skipping the ones with the QC issues? :-?

Isn't TR Cerebros already "Rebrith" accurate, while Legends Fortress is Headmasters Anime/original toy accurate?

Not in colors:

TakaraTomy did release a Spike in Exo-Suit Titan Master with a Rebirth-accurate Cerebros head.

Eh, it's good enough for me. I have Legends Brave Max because it was a different deco/character, but I always wanted just the head of a Legends Fort Max because it contains the different sound FX, and that awesome Headmasters Theme... ;) .

That could additionally be an issue as a re-release since those contain all the electronics, unless all that was removed, also, probably not a big market for a toy that just turns into a head  .

Yup a pretty terrible toy indeed. I mean, I'm into niche stuff, I'll buy seperate Headmasters (just the heads) if they are economically priced and to my liking, just not sure how many would. Thus the reason why in TR, we had the mini vehicle gimmick to go along with the TM heads.

As for a deluxe head sure, but because it is so niche, it may be a Selects thing, if ever.

Problem with that is that Cerebros is part of the Fort Max mold just like Full-Tilt is part of Trypticon and Zarak is part of Scorponok. And the only one of those molds likely to have been designed with gating off the Deluxe-size component from the rest is Scorponok.

You can at least get Spike via Takara Legends Bumblebee. For the rest of Cerebros... you might have to learn to paint. Unless someone with a Legends Fort Max wants to swap for the Hasbro Cerebros.

Except, it may actually work for Fort Max/Cerebros. Fort Max was already a retool of Metroplex, so all of the big parts already had a mold from Metroplex. Cerebros should only be on a mold with new parts for Fort Max and might actually be able to be gated off, all depends on the layout, but there wouldn't be an entire titans worth of waste from Cerebros.

Mmm, I'm doubtful the layout is gate-off friendly, myself. Fort Max's shoulders, leg guns, back-of-leg pieces, torso, and thighs are almost entirely new tooling - and the shoulders and upper torso share plastic colors with Cerebros. Plus there's the fact that Fort Max was a trial-run for making further Titans, so I doubt he had the necessary forethought for that kind of thing put into him.

What about when Takara did that exclusive Cerebros redeco/retool as Japanese comedian duo Downtown? That was sold without Fort Max.

I think that was an incredibly limited run and probably a poor model for a viable US retail release.

I'm all for cool redecoes, but I really think some of you should invest in some Tamiya paint or find a custom artist who takes commissions rather than hoping for these pipe dreams. I mean, it's not impossible, it could happen, but I wouldn't hold your breath.

With all the recent original series reissues from Walmart, I wonder how many casual fans who are less savvy, are actually going to think these are reissues of the original 1987 Headmasters...You know it is bound to happen ;).

How many other people who picked up the TR figures are planning to buy these but use the original Hasbro heads?

I thought I was just going to get Chromedome, but I like the new details on Hardhead's treads and the darker grey on Brainstorm's wings. I don't know if they're $20 upgrades, but they're nice.

I have the Takara Tomy Legends versions (with the extra Headmaster pack for the alternate Hasbro faces and whatnot), so I think I'll stick with those and pass on all of these, unless my dream of a single release of Cerebros comes true, and then I will get him and only him, most likely.

I can see some people realizing it once they get them out of package, they are not the same. I can also see some not remembering the lack of articulation, and thinking "Yeah, this is exactly it".

Trust me, this coming from someone who more than once saw someone pick up an Asylum mockbuster at Blockbuster back in the day, thinking they were renting the actual movie.

I'm just wanting Brainstorm and they are only being sold as a set over here so far. Having said that if I got the set I'd want some styrofoam inserts for the boxes to complete the illusion -it's not bed for the environment if its never being thrown away :P

Typically in the mid 90's I picked up G1 Sixshot and my friend picked up a few G1 headmasters (Mindwipe, Hardhead) and its the headmasters that never got reissued :(

Yeah, and there was apparently a time when people thought Masterpiece MP-1 Convoy/20th Anniversary Optimus Prime was the same toy they had back in 1984. 8-}

Wow...even if I hadn't seen Prime in 20 years I don't think I could make that error, but If some did, I can believe it. Size is relative.

As much as I loved combining robots, if I had not seen the Constructicons in 20+ years, my brain/nostalgia might have fooled me into thinking CW Devastator was the same from 1985 ;)
