Yeah some have them gray, some blue. So which is it? The gray bothers me as well, but not nearly as much.

The video and the initial announcement image are grey, so I'm tempted to go with that but I could never be a hundred percent.

I'm thinking that as well, because blue just wouldn't make sense. In none of the movies Starscream was in was he any type of blue. Or white, either. The more I look at these shots, the more I'm convinced I should just stick with the HFTD figure.

Well look, with Optimus Prime, it turned out that the ROTF Leader was the better toy than the MPM. For this, I think both will be as good in their own way. I might still preffer the HFTD for how elegant the undercarriage is handled. it was there, but it was smoothe enough.

As for the gray vs blue discussion, it's a problem with the lighting. Grey (just like black) is always a mixture of a darker tint of either blue, green or purple, because there is no such thing as actual black in pigmentation. So in this case, the grey comes from a blue pigment and can reflect differently given the lightsource and accompanying manipulation of the photo.

"MPM-X"? :???:

Anyway, something tells me the "blue" is more of a trick of the lighting or hue settings. You know, "what color is the dress?"

Well X is ten in roman numerals... Though why they'd switch to that numbering scheme now is weird

Articulation looks amazing, but something about this just leaves me disappointed. it just seems like it should be so much more than the original leader class and Studio Series than it is.

I dunno.

I want it, but I thought there would be more sheen or shine to it if I'm being clear enough. I think I just expected more of a shiny metal look in anticipation of the reveal. I kept thinking of all of the sunshine that Michael Bay incorporated in those films and how the light was constantly playing off the Bots and Cons.

The robot is the main attraction. The vehicle here looks fine as is, and clearly you don't need to display with the hand weapons attached, thats just a place to store them for vehicle mode if you so wish.

No offence at all.
It's a valid way to display the jets. They usually stand up pretty well! However, the Movie jet cannot stand up like this because of the way it's made. It dosent have a "tripod".

It looks like a retool of the HFTD Starscream.

It really comes down to stability/QC issues for me, because at least on appearances this blows the HFTD leader out of the water for me. They finally got the proportions right - as much as I like the leader and SS figures, they haven't really been able to get the torso proportions right. It's also huge that the robot mode wings are formed from the primary wings instead of the rear fins! It looks so much better.

$150 is actually better than I was expecting, but still a lot more than I've ever spent on a Transformer before. We'll have to see, I'm excited to see more pictures/videos in the meantime!

Looks good, but, I'm not yet sure $150 good, I love movie starscream and my biggest regret with even his best figures thus far was that he was never as bendy as his art always portrayed him, this seems to fix that
a bit (the multi-jointed neck works miracles) and for me is a big plus, guess we'll see come sept, least I have some time to mull it over :-?

I normally hate the movie Starscream design, but this MPM figure looks gorgeous. I don't collect MPs, but I might have to get this one... It just perfectly captures the sniveling coward that Starscream was in the movies

It was exactly me at first.
Then way back then, on Boxing Day sale in December 2010 or 2011, HFTD Leader Starscream was on sale at Toys R Us for 45$CAN instead of the normal 70$CAN. I HATED that Starscream. But at that price, I was curious.

Then when fiddling with him, my hate turned into love and I finally saw how brilliant the design was.

Dunno if the old HFTD Leader will drop in price because the MPM is coming out, but if you can find it for a reasonable price, you'll have a taste of what MPM-10 will bring. After all, HFTD Leader Starscream is MPM-01.

Not a fan of Bayverse figures, so this one's a pass. Seriously - how can anyone look at this and say, 'Yeah, that's Starscream'? Obviously a lot of thought and engineering was put into it, I'll give them that. But this just isn't Starscream.

I wonder if the darker grey is only a lighting thing going on with the pictures.

The jet mode looks solid, just wondering about the colors.

It seems he will have the booster on the back!
Overall,I'm very excited for this toy!

One thing for sure. The vehicle mode will NEVER be in scale. Except maybe with Megatron because Megatron is some random thing. In order for Starscream in Jet mode to be in scale with the land vehicles, we should have Star Trek magic tech to mass-shift this toy.

Oh well, as long that the robot match, that's all that matter, really.

I was in that exact same mindset way back in 2010/2011.
Then I tasted the HFTD Leader...

Maybe you could think outside your box for once and try something you never dared before. Maybe not this 150$ MP, obviously, but maybe just the standard Studio Series figure. Movie Starscream is ugly, yes, but he's a pleasure to handle. Especially the Studio Series version or the HFTD Leader. Give it a chance and you'll see.

And if you just can't accept him as "Starscream", just name him Larry and problem solved! ;)^

I can!

It’s just a matter of what we grew up with and what we enjoy. When I think “Starscream”, I think of this design before the blue and red F-15, but I know that most people are probably more familiar with the G1-style appearance.

That’s a huge part of what I like so much about the Bay movies - They went all out in creating awesome, super detailed reimaginings of characters that - while retaining some hints of the originals - really let the designers get creative and do something new (and IMO way cooler).

This won't make me any younger but I find this absolutely amazing that for a whole generation, the "true" Transformers dear from childhood and full of nostalgia are the Bayverse ones!

And honestly, I'm thankful because thanks to the Bayverse, Transformers entered a second renaissance like it did when Beast Wars came along. In both instances, Transformers were revived, fuels by the Geewun Purists tears. Ironically, it's thanks to the Bayverse that we got those recent lines of "Budget G1 Masterpieces" that was the last Generations trilogy and the current one.

His alt mode is looking a bit off color-wise and it's definitely got some undercarriage kibble, but man, that robot mode looks incredible. This pose gives me flashbacks to some of the RotF promo art, and it's awesome.

Very easily, that's how Starscream looked like in the movies they watched.

My kids are 2 and 4 and they are able to understand that Starscream looks a particular way in the movies and a different way in the cartoons. Same with Bumblebee, Ironhide, Ratchet and everyone else except for Megatron

Terribly, we already know that from the dimensions given. Not that anyone expected otherwise.
