I like how Downshift's faux-windshield chest looks doubled up like that. It's pretty good.

Annoyingly I put his other gun in storage but I will dig it out so I can do this and post pics!

It does look very cool. Concidering I was never really find of Downshift I only ever used him for pants , he looks amazing as a double powerlinx figure. I have to say though Prowl is still the best figure as shirt and pants.

Are you referring to me misspelling powerlinx?

When I set out on this mission, I set myself some ground rules. 2 of every deulux Energon autobot (except Towline) and we're not doing repaints. But then I was on the internet and I found a bargain. More to come soon.
Okay so a few super quick pics. I didn't put more effort in because honestly I don't love this figure. Also I couldn't find his gun, so there's a few pics of him with Downshifts gun just to add some spice. He's currently tied with Rodimus for worse double powerlinx. Don't get me wrong, would buy him again in a heartbeat but his colorscheme makes me think of vomit. Also with no swivel in his arms or left to right movement in his head, no hips and weirdly high up knees Hotshot really personifies the powerlinx brick ideology. I love that with his arms pointed straight down he looks like an awkward teen and from the back he looks like a ninja turtle.
So far my ranking is 1: Prowl 2: Downshift 3: Rodimus / E Hotshot
Also I just had another Energon figure I'm very excited about come in the mail now I just need to wait till I can find another one so I can share him with y'all. He's very hard to track down (at least at a not unholy price so don't hold your breath). For now I leave you with this.
It's been a while but I've finally got an update for you all! This figure was never released in my country so getting my hands on one let alone two was not cheap. I give you Double powerlinx deluxe Optimus Prime! This figure is notorious for having clear plastic ankles so finding one in good condition with all pieces and both feet for less than a small fortune is a mission! I'm so glad to have finally gotten my hands on this white unicorn of a figure. He's definitely a figure where you have to ignore the official instructions to get the best out of him. He's a great combiner in that he's not just a pair of legs or arms he adds a decent amount if length to the torso. The shoulder armor can be quite finiky to get rid of the gaps but for an energon combiner the poseability is quite good. Anyway enough of my talking enjoy the last pics of my insane mission to document all double powerlinx figures.
It's hard for me to add Prime to my ranking I'm so biased towards him becuase of how thrilled I am to finally have my hands on him.
So far my updated ranking is 1: Prowl 2: Downshift 3: Optimus Prime 4: Rodimus 5: E Hotshot
I'm shocked with how low I've put him in the ranking. He almost tied for 2nd with downshift but his finiky shoulder armor, bulky leg kibble and small arms that (if transformed according to the instructions) don't have hands, just weird little cross shaped guns. He's definitely my favorite but objectively he comes in a very close third.
Also I moved E Hotshot to Fifth, becuase screw that guy.
Hard to argue against that, the arms never made sense to me unless at one point the legs were supposed to be hands like on the others, making his nominal hands/guns as extra fire power
Exactly, it would make sence if he was like rodimus and they were over the shoulder cannons. But even then why are they little crosses? They're more like pegs than guns. That being said I do appreciate any energon combiner that deviates from the standard, legs become are and arms become kibble formate. Inferno it one of my favorite leg halves because his arms and legs combine together to make a larger limb. That being said they have no articulation once combined.
He's a great top half as well because his legs turn into giant over the shoulder cannons. He looks particularly good as legs for Prime. Infact Inferno is even shown as the legs in primes combiner instructions. Which makes me wounder if they had certain combinations in mind when they were desgining the powerlinx modes.
