Thats cold, he isn't asking for him, he's doing this for US!

I'm in advertising photography, and especialy with display items, that screen is priceless. One small nudge to the camera looking into the veiwfinder can ruin a shot that took forever to set up and light even if your using a tripod.

If you can't help, thats fine, I wish I could do more myself, but this is the Man's art that he shares with us for nothing, he knows what tools he needs.

Dude take a pill. I wasn't trying to be a jerk or anything, just wanted to know if there was other options until he could buy another one. Given the pictures he took, yeah something is definitely messed up with the inside mechanisms. No point in getting it repaired either. Just go and get a FujiFilm SLR camera. Those are sweet.

I took 3 pictures of the JetBlue flight board and this was the best of the 3 that I got with the viewfinder. Not to mention that it's really hard to see what you're taking a picture of when it's that small in the viewfinder.

Damn yeah it looks like something is off with the picture. Is that when you're using the flash or without?

I'm pretty sure it was without the flash. It shouldn't be doing that either way though. This camera has the anti-hand shaking thing on it.

Man I want anti hand shaking thing on my camera. I love my Cannon to death but that would certainly be a welcome addition.

Hey no offense taken. I'm sure there's something I can do with the old camera but for the sake of time and money, I'd rather just move on and get a new camera so that we don't miss a beat. I'm on a business trip right now in Michigan so I can't do anything with the new galleries for the site until I get back to Chicago on Friday. When I get back to Chicago, I'll buy a new camera on Friday or Saturday. I think we'll be able to come up with the resources by then.

19 on the way

This is what I'm thinking ... I'm very loyal to the Sony brand so I think I'd like to stick with it since I'm so familiar with the cameras after using them for about 7 years.

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp ... 0393352648

Sony - Cyber-shot 7.2MP Digital Camera - Black

Model: DSC-H5/B SKU: 7740126

12x optical/2x digital zoom; 3" TFT LCD; direct-print capability

----------------------------

Though I wouldn't mind the 10+ megapixel Sony camera. That would make taking pictures of the little Transformers really easy.

Well, if enough people donate 5-10bucks, and im sure many will, then the 10.2MP shouldnt be to far out of reach. Of course you could always buy the 7.2 and use any extra to purchase another figure for the gallery...which reminds me, did the minerva gallery ever go up?

Well now don't you suck. That was what I had wanted to get (or the lower MP version) last year but it was just out of reach.

The 10.2 MP is a nice camera but it may not be necessary for Ryan unless he plans to enlarge his pictures so they're 20"x30" across.

sorry to hear that dude. All I have is one camera, a kodak 5 MP, but I have no job, nor do I have a bank account atm...

I meant to say, if you bought it from bestBuy, and you had a Prouct Replacemnet Plan, they should give you a camera comparable to the one that is broken.

I know, I used to work for Best Buy.

Hey, Ryan, while I am a tight budget and can not donate at this time (which annoys me to no end to not help a friend), I can only offer this: May you get the new camera and may it serve you and this site well.

I wont be donating. Surely Ryan's well paid job and advertising revenue from this site can/should cover this cost. It seems rather unethical to ask the users of the site to pay for a repalcement camera when you're making money out of their page view, an will make even more with each new gallery you snap with the camera they paid for. Surely the galleries should pay for themselves?

Sorry Ryan but I had to say something.

Yours AK

No problem Seibs. I have no problems contributing to the site I call home. It's not a lot, but I figure ever little bit will help. Bout time I did something for you since you do so much for us.
