I both love it and hate it :???:

I agree Primus should sue for his image being stolen by Vader, the little guys in the shoulder bulk are pretty intereating, but the gun throws me off.

Anyhow, I just might get one because A. I don't have a DeatStar, and always wanted one to go with my other Star Wars ships. B. Both Primus and the Unicrons could always use someone else to beat on.

I think the backround story that I'd use would be something like:

In Darth Vader's experience with the nameless Cybertronian protoform that scaned both his image and his TieFighter, Vader amassed enough knowledge of the aliens robotics to tie his own cybernetics into this most recent DeathStar. Now as it's center, he is in complete control of the massive battle station traversing the spaceways, and using The Force to control this technological monstrosity to enforce the will and law of The Empire.

Vader mode looks great but with only fold-out panels on his arms and legs I wonder if he can actually form a complete Death Star. Maybe he'll be like Unicron and only form an incomplete Death Star?

That looks uttely shite.

It looks like the same lazy ass designing that has plauged the line from the very beginning.

Pass.

I Fricking fed up with wasting my money on these Star Wars POSs, and well definutly NOT get this or any others unless I happen to find them VERY cheeply.

This is the first Swtf I have even been mildly interested in. Looks surprisingly appropriate.

You mean other than the fact Darth Vader didnt think very much of the origanal death star?

It is entirly the wrong choice of charecter for this toy, the empirer would have made far more sence (and we've only had one of him so far, compaired to two DVs).

Or even Grand Moff Tarkin, since he was technically the one in charge of the Death Star.

Yeah, but he was an overtly menacing charecter, not an out and out **** your pants scary charecter. I HAS to be that kinda charecter to work with the death star.

He looks nothing short of powerful. And he is strikingly detailed!

Point.

What about one of the Death Star Gunners that operated the Superlaser? (Probably not, though...)

Hey, if nothing else you could keep it in Death Star mode and beat up on it with a Unicron figure. :P

I intend to get Primus to play the role of 'getting bullied upon'... :D

Indeed. For once it's not a robot with a SW character head slapped on top of it.

I'm not so sure of that. That chest design IS Primus. It's even got the front flares that slide around. But I think I'll be getting this.

Ok. Does anyone have that old artwork of a Darth Vader Death Star transformer? I remember seeing that like 5 years ago and this looks almost identical to it.

EDIT: Found it!

They should have made it Transform into the Deat Star pilot. Also, the upper half of the mold looks Primus based, has this been confirmed as a Primus remold or a new mold?

Alright so I'm not the biggest Starwars fan but compared to the rest of the line he is pretty impressive. I only have two problems with this guy.

1) The Death Star mode looks like it's going to have alot of seams and hinges all over it going by the bot mode.

2) I know Vader is a very popular character and all but come on. How many Vaders are there in this line already?

It's a new mold. He looks nothing like Primus, even I can see that with my glasses :-B

He looks like the Prowler 974 artwork

This must be mine

You know, I really like it. It looks nice and thick, unlike the rest of the SWTF line. For once, Darth Vaders head isn't top heavy.

I wonder if Hasbro would ever put out a D2DVD Video about SWTF. I think it might be intersting.

it seems like a hybrid of unicron and primus. he has primus' top planet halves, and unicrons side leg things.

I know a lot of people are saying Vader is a stupid choice because he didn't want anything to do with the Death Star, nor did he ever use a gun.....but throwing some Star Wars "logic" in here, assuming this line has any in the first place....If the Empire (& the Emperor, himself, naturally) were to make a robot version of any Impirial figure..it'd probably be it's menacing second-in-command. I mean, Vader is like their champion....why not plaster his visage all over a Death Star mech, even if he dosen't like it? Same thing with the gun. Who says he likes it? Dosen't mean the Emperor can't order it to have one anyway.

.....of course, in reality....it's simply because out of all the Star Wars characters, Vader is by far the most popular, & slapping his head on that technological terror ensures Hasbro will turn a profit.

If the Empire (and as you said, the Emperor himself) were to make a robot version of any Imperial figure it'd be the Emperor himself. You can't go past the guy's ego.

But like NC said, this is about profits, Vader Star will sell, Palpatine or Tarkin wouldn't.
