Wow, this is a Transfan toy collector's grail: Action Master Movie Megatron. Hasbro, you're on to a winner. Now give us Chip "Courage" Chase and we'll be pleased.

Welcome to another episode of 'Things Hasbro have always done'!

Not to this extent. They've been skimping on the Transformers paint apps the past few years but since they don't normally have a whole lot of minor detailing/they're based on animated representations they've been able to get away with it. Some of the Movie figures have been a new low and this... this doesn't even transform. It's a ball-jointed action figure. Unless they're planning to sell these for under 6 bucks they could have at least moulded the damn joints in a more subtle color and given him a wash.

The whole line is starting to look like injection kits to me. They're moulded in color and have the major detailing painted but the plastic colors are always slightly off and to make them look anything like the packaging you have to completely paint, detail, and wash them yourself.

I just don't think of this as Megatron. It looks more like a mutated Terminator. I assume this is another one of Bay's "bright ideas". It just doesn't look like Megatron. Evidently the movie is going to have its own line of Action Masters. I've liked what I've seen of several of the movie toys, but I just don't care for this one.

Non transforming.... Instead of turning from crap form #1 to crap form #2 it just stays crap all the time!

Truely these are words of deep wisdom.

"I assume this is another one of Bay's "bright ideas"."

Repeat after me: "Michael Bay is the director. He tells the actors what to do. ILM and Hasbro design the characters. They decide how Megatron looks."

For me it isn't even the fact that it's a bad figure. It's the fact that I knew from the first picture I looked at that it doesn't transform. It'd be one thing if was something like Energon Kicker or a Microman figure. But this figure is supposed to be of a Transformer appearing in the movie, right?

Maybe it's just me, but I'm wondering if it doesn't transform, what's the point?

Unless this film is being done far differently than most other big-budget films the director almost certainly has major input over the character designs. Blaming Michael Bay for everything does get old, but to insist he had no part in choosing the the appearance of the robots doesn't seem realistic, especially when you consider his role in choosing their vehicle alt modes.

I figure we're going to get all types of figures by time this movie is done, transforming and not, as well as many other style toys that we've seen with other feature films.

That doesn't change the fact that this guy has some type of weird monkey face

Didn't Hasbro say all the movie merchandise was meant to transform in some way?

Quoted for so much greatness...

Honestly, though... this little shite figure actually looks a lot more like the renders we've been seeing of movie Megs than the voyager class one... I seem to recall hearing that Megs will have two looks at least in the film so I'm guessing Cyber-ice-jet-thing is one, and this godawful junk is the other...

Action Master Movie Megatron. Nothing wrong with that... and better, it's not deformed unlike the original Action Masters.

Should I see a doctor if my eyes are bleeding profusely? Do you think Hasbro will pay the medical bills?

When I made my comment about this version of Megatron, I was just saying that I thought it was a disappointment. I've liked most of the movie toys I've seen so far. I just didn't care for this one. As for my comment about Bay's "bright ideas", I agree that it doesn't make sense to blame Bay for everything regarding the movie. I know that for most of the people who see the movie, this will be the only version of Transformers they'll ever know. Ijust wish there had been input from Transfans regarding it. Don't get me wrong, however, I'm looking forward to seeing it, and I hope it 's a success.
