Simply put, FP is the best of the 3rd party suppliers. I can't wait to get the G3 trailer, the City Commander weapons, and the future Protector armor.

I might even splurge on the Superion add-on. Those new pictures of him look pretty bad-ass.

the trailer looks great on Rodimus but did the trailer have ANY purpose in the G1 cartoon? i don't think so. on the positive side, it's a must have like the City Commander trailer.

Can't wait for this one. Hopefully it'll go well with my Henkei version. In the meantime I'm looking forward to enjoying the Superion add-on, which is finally in the mail.

I've come to the conclusion that when one becomes a Prime, one gets a trailer. The trailer is a phallic symbol only, it is only used to keep the other Autobots jealous.

It's cool, did he actually ever have a trailer?

I've always thought of the trailer upgrade as "junk in the trunk" because once you become the boss, you get to sit around, get bloated on energon, and order everyone else around.

I always figured it was the bosses easychair.

Anyone else notice the faux fender near the Rodimus toy? That means this will support wither Hasbro's release of the Henkei version ... since one has chrome and the other doesn't.

Which do you suppose the base figure will be?

Shouldn't matter. They way he's put together, you'll see more armor then what's underneath.

Finally proof that this thing is still in progress! Soon as this baby goes up for preorder I'm ordering it. I'll agree it doesn't mesh super well with the vehicle mode, but it looks good enough to do the job, and it's really all about the upgraded bot mode. I'm excited!

Looks interesting. No real idea though what's added to rodimus from the one drawn image. Won't be getting this anyway though, since it's not an official product. Just not a fan of third party/non-offical stuff.

With allthe QC and distribution issues Hasbro has been having in recent years, Fans Project is truly amazingly high quality for a third party company. Jump on the band wagon quick or pay through the nose later!

It's very Anime-ish. When you look in Transformers books showing concept art, or any Manga style pics of Rodimus the cab always stuck way out there.

Either way, this thing is giving me a broner.

It's just that it's still unofficial. If hasbro or takara were producing these then I'd be all over them, but I look at it like these types of things are a bootleg product, and I never buy bootleg TF's. Quality or not, if it's not got a hasbro or takara company stamp on it it's not worth buying to me. Plus the pricing is a huge issue as well. These types of things are always way more expensive than they're worth. It's cool for me to look at pics of them, but I'd really never buy one myself.

Until now all the fansprojet work are awesome. In my opinion if you are going to make a upgrade for classic Hot Rod i believe that an upgrade for Galvatron is required because next to Rodimus Prime he will be so tiny even when compared to Optimus Prime and Megatron and of course an upgrade for Bruticus would be also very useful.

what i meant to say was that what will the trailer do? i mean Magnus' trailer turns into an armor, what will Rodimus' trailer do?

then again, it could turn into a command center like Optimus'

I don't remember the trailer ever being used in the cartoon, it usually kind of went off to limbo when Rodimus transformed, but the toy trailer turned into a small battle station. If FP can make the trailer function as both as add on armour and alterntively as a battle station, I'll be very impressed!

Don't act like you don't know what it means!

As written in "The Bro Code" by Barny Stinson

Neil Patrick Harris wrote:Broner~

e.g., Ricky popped a broner when his friend rented out the local laser tag area for his birthday

In this case, the "Bros." in question would be FansProject.

From memory, i can think of 3 different transforms that they did with his trailer in the toon:

1. The most common, was that the trailer is part of him, and they showed things like the rear wheels being hidden/revealed from his shins. Most notable episodes to mind are; Call of the Primitives and The Return Of Optimus Prime (we see him transform, jump over magnus, and transform again)

2. On one occasion i can think of (Only Human) they had him transform like the '80s toy, but we never saw the trailer transform.

3. the one that made me really start to pay attention though, was in Face of Nijika, where he gets forced over a cliff edge, and the trailer section disengages, we see the full 'Hot Rod' car, he transforms, hits solid ground, transforms back into the car, and the trailer comes racing up behind him.

Basically, the trailer was and wasnt useless in the toon. you've just got pick ur preference.
