There are options beyond the normaly 70 plus dollar (or more mib) convoy prime.
Have you seen the generations cybertronian optimus prime? He is nicely done and pays tremendous homage to classics prime. Also, You can get the generations cybertronian megatron tostand opposite prime and that megs is IMO second only to henkei classics voyager megs. Both figures are basically classics with a little tweak here and there. Best part is you can still find them on shelfs in the stores if your on your toes. Prime was a bit harder to find for me than megs but he is out there. If you want him I can probably find you one, or both of them. Price to me plus shipping is all Id ask. If you dont wanna wait for me to find em you can land em on ebay fairly cheap.
You also have universe classics optimus prime. He is a straight up classics prime in every way. The megs that is supposed to stand opposite him is a bit cheesy IMO and looks NOTHING like a classic megs but prime looks great.
The only down sides to that prime are he tends to look a bit small when standing next to some of the other figs in his scale (sun streaker, side swipe, red alert to name a few) but he is to scale. I just prefer optimus prime to be a bit larger than all the other auto bots. He can be got for cheap on ebay as well but cannot be found on shelfs anymore to my knowladge.
The last option would be to wait for the transformers prime voyager optimus to hit u.s. stores. Have you seen him? Pretty damn good if you ask me.
Not entirely classic, but close. plus he will be larger than generation/classic figures but not so much larger that he looks out of scale.
I have a generations prime loose and in great shape as well as a universe prime loose and aslo in great shape. I dont know how to post pics but if you wanna look em up and like their look I am willing to trade for a figure I need. Let me know what you have for trade. I also have a henkei screamer loose and in great shape to barder with.
There is no doubt that the best prime so far if you want a classic look is henkei convoy prime though. If you talk to folks you may be able to find someone willing to do you a solid and sell you one for arround fourty dollars. May take some time though.

Ive still got that clasics prime Ill send ya. Hes not henkei and is a bit small but he looks the part.
