Everybody who missed the Amazon Ratchet/Lifeline set is going to be pissed! Everybody assumed the new Ratchet was going to be a deluxe.

By the way, what the hell is the point of the "core class"? I understand Rattrap because he's a tiny character. But what the hell is the point of a Megatron, Starscream & Soundwave? And now what are people supposed to do with a tiny Ratchet when everybody wants a full deluxe? I never understood this (and never bothered to ask until now). I totally ignore the core class, I never bought one & just don't see the point of it.

Apparently the actual purpose of the core class is to have the main characters at an affordable price point for parents. That it also doubles as useful for tiny figures like Rattrap is just a bonus, not the main purpose. I believe Hasbro indicated this themselves.

I may not be an expert, but from what I can tell, reasons for the Core Class to exist are as follows:
-Gives a release avenue for smaller characters like Rattrap (since it's basically a resurrected Scout/Legends class)
-Puts affordable versions of big-name characters on the shelves for lower-income customers who don't care about scale
-Provides collectors/customers with smaller-scale versions of big-name characters to use with Titan-class figures (even though the scale isn't quite right depending on the Titan)
-Gives a way for Hasbro to put out some new characters like Vertebreak without sacrificing larger class slots for that could go to established characters fans may be more interested in

I get why Core class exists…
However, it is very odd to do this with Ratchet…
And especially in SS86… This is truly odd & I personally don’t see the logic here.
In fact, I don’t really see the point of SS86 Rumble…
Watch, he’s going to come with Megatron’s cannon to recreate the scene when the Decepticons are retreating out of Autobot City…
I guess there’s still a chance a deluxe Ratchet happens down the road.
But yeah, seems very weird.

I’m very excited about Kickback & Dragstrip!!!!

The $9.99 figures will be just like the core class figures we got for Kingdom, I'm guessing. This is probably good news for those who couldn't find core class Soundwave anywhere. It's probably even the same figure just repackaged.

Several of the names and sizes are puzzling for sure. Does TF7 Wheelie pretty much confirm he will be in Rise of the Beasts? Will it be a new character homaging annoying TFTM Wheelie, or Perverted Tom Kenney ( which I guess would be a Decepticon in the 90s?) Wheelie?

Also I agree with others with my bewilderment with Core Class. I mean Rattrap and the 2 skeleton Dino's (since they have no previous fiction), could work in continuity, and I get the OG characters are nice to have a more budget friendly version for parents to get for kids (that is out of continuity), but to start doing core class for SS86 is definitely a nonsensical decision to me.

Armada Starscream?!

I'm hyped! Hoping for Armada Optimus and Armada Megatron with SIEGE ports! :x

So new Stunticons are pretty much confirmed... They'd better be toy-accurate compared to the CW ones, and be compatible with CW and PotP :BANG_HEAD:

My guess is that this is due to a couple things:
First, I think it's a fair statement that SS86 is doing well. Possibly extremely well. Blurr has been the only figure that I'd even consider to be a peg-warmer, and even that is probably a stretch.
Secondly, Hastak could be trying to stretch this subline further than originally anticipated.
Because Core class being added (especially now) doesn't seem like a move that points to slowing down or trying to bow-out, so to speak.

Nemesis Primal wrote:-Core Energon Monster (the presence of Armada Screamer strengthens my theory that this is some kind of Energon Terrorcon if it isn't something completely new like the Fossilizers)

My current theory is that "Energon Monsters" are Core class Weaponisers / Battlemasters / Armour. We know there's a Pretender homage in Legacy so this will probably that. I'm betting they'll be transparent "energon" figures of the Pretender shells that can be taken apart and put on Deluxe figures. There's also rumours of "Energon Hunters" which I'm guessing are the Autobot pretender shells.

If the Decepticon shells are relegated to Core class exclusivity while the Autobots get Deluxe+ I will be incredibly pissed. Autobot Pretenders are incredibly worse than Decepticon Pretenders.

Some of the guys over on TFW are thinking/hoping that SS86 Ratchet is a typo & it's actually Ratbat or Rewind to go with Rumble. I could definitely go for another Ratbat.

I wouldn't be interested in new Stunticons, but if they are compatible with the generations combiner system already established, that would make it sting far less.

Tarantulas, Inferno and Dragon Megatron? A Bulkhead? YESSSS!

Dragstrip feels a bit odd since Combiner Wars was just five years or so ago. I hope he's compatible with previous combiners, it'd be very stupid if he wasn't.

Wouldnt SS 86 core class simply be a continuation of what we've seen in Kingdom with Optimus, Starscream, Megatron and Soudwave? More G1 characters in that scale.

This makes more sense…
I could see Rewind to battle Rumble. & Blaster has pretty much been confirmed.

I’m so anxious to see what the combining system is…
It would be nice if it’s the same as CW. As long as size matches well, I could see people getting new figures they feel have been improved enough.
IF it’s a new system, I’m betting more combiners will be on the way;
Hastak is going to cash in on that new engineering.

Core DOTM Lazerbeak, that’s awesome! We already got a normal one with Soundwave, maybe it’s his pink Bumblebee mode? That’d be cool.

I am curious how it will scale though, because the existing Lazerbeak, which is properly scaled, is really tiny.

Overall though, really pumped we’re getting SS core class!

Right? It's probably going to mostly be Blaster cassettes, but I hope this means we might get Frenzy and some appliance bots down the line. Or Dispensor!

Also, I just noticed that Core class Ratchet is probably going to be the first G1 styled Ratchet that's not an exclusive in like a decade, right?

So far it looks like the Stunticons are still the only figures on my "interested" list. With that much rumored "Masterpiece" Cliffjumper being on my "Please make it a thing, TakaraTomy!" list.

Knowing my luck... The Stunticons will be G1 accurate with Hasbro also announcing the same same for their Aerialbots, and I will be dealing with a situation that prevents me from getting both. >:oP

Then again, I thought by now I'd have my business cards made just in case I managed to revisit TakaraTomy's office.

I absolutely adore Cybershark! The hammerhead not the transmetal version that was repainted into Sky Byte. The torpedoes that shoot out of his chest, the switchblade tail, the hammer that can double as a projectile as well, his jack o Lantern looking head. And the hammerhead alt mode is awesome! I still have my Cybershark but an update would be so awesome
