i think blazemaster isnt a bad figure, not super awesome, but not crap either
i just sanded a bit the white joint on his tail rotors so it isnt damaged when transformed this way
anyway, really, dont see the problem with the molds use, and no, judging by the photos i dont think they are supposed to be the GEEWUN versions of the protectobots in any mean, really, blue groove, red hotspot, white and blue bot not enough red firstaid, and more white than red blades(the rotf evac was a way more geewun repaint of blazemaster)

Save the world? WTF? LOL....they are just toys.

And I call it how I see it. These are Prime toys. Period. And no amount of shoehorning is going to change that. If you want them for your Prime collection they will fit in just fine, but as far as classics go that line is dead in the water. Your best bet will be 3pt retailers. And just because Hasbro slaps a name and some paint on some random mold doesn't make it a geewun classics figure.

I always chuckle at the bondage this kind of collecting brings. It is silly. If you want to buy the figures because you just like them then fine, but to call these classics is a joke. Kinda like the GDO stuff, save Hot Spot, and all the movie line junk that people shoehorn into their classics collection because they are mad a Hasbro for not making what they want in their time frame.

I do not have convince anyone of anything. It is what it is. And just because I speak it doesn't mean you have to get all puffed up at me because I said what you are thinking in the back of your mind.

The hyperbole I used demonstrates the exaggerated vitriole with which you constantly attack choices made by Hasbro or fans to include in their "Classics" line up of figures. If toys are just toys, you wouldn't feel compelled to knock down everyone's contrary opinion to yours EVERY TIME something like this comes up. Your contributions to conversations here are predominantly negative and don't add to the fun of the hobby at all. We ALL know what you think of "Classics figures" and repurposing of figures from other lines. Trust me, it does not bear repeating. So, please, don't.

Besides, we don't even know what line they fall under, Age of Extinction or not. We're getting the whole 2010 line all over again, where toys that don't fall under the Age of Extinction header can pretty much go anywhere we please them to.

My god, classifying these without proper bios or fiction will be a nightmare... :BANG_HEAD:

My turn to chime in. It's alright to not like something, but to continually bash on it and those who like it day in and day out, almost every single post being negative... it gets old, it gets annoying, and it's not fun.

And like JelZe said, we don't even know if these would constitute as Classics figures or not.

I fully agree. The deluxe AOE toys being under Generations is a clear example of why we shouldn't be shackled to a line's title. Will anyone really use Strafe as a generations Strafe in their classic's collection. Because technically, the art used on his box makes him as legit as any other generations figure.

What I am trying to say is to each's own. The way I see it, this is an awesome way for people to get some fun Prime molds. I only have Beast Hunters Ratchet and if I can ever find First Aid by himself it is sure I am getting him as my Ratchet figure.

First Aid and Streetsmart don't look bad, but I'm disappointed that Groove looks basically identical to Arcee. As for the other set, the use of the Grapple version of the mold rather than the Inferno version seems like an odd choice if they mean to do a Hot Spot homage, and the RotF Blazemaster mold is just a bad toy, end of story.

Agreed, but I have some solutions to make the set work a bit better. I've got an "Elite Guard" EZ Collection Prowl on order who will be Groove. If I can put the Universe 2008 Legends Animated Prowl head on the Elite Guard EZ Prowl body, all the better! The ROTF release of Evac has a very Blades G1 deco layout already, although the red is swapped out for deep orange. That or the Universe 2008 redeco of Cybertron Evac as G1 Blades would work, though the colors are wrong (except for the primary use of red). I like what they did with First Aid and Streetwise, and we have the perfect "Classics" Hotspot already. I'm wondering if that orange repaint of Grapple might make a good "Hauler." I know Takara-Tomy have already retconned that character to be green, but he's still yellow-orange in his one (in)famous cartoon appearance.

The sad part is that this is likely the closest we'll get to having Classics Protectobots.

Actually, we already have two of the five in Classics form:

GDO Series Hot Spot and Universe 2008 Blades. So the second set would be obsolete.

Yeah, but I'd rather have new molds. They don't necessarily have to combine (although it would be nice), just look good as a team. And just for the record, what continuity do these fit into? The three we see here are all Prime, but the other set somehow has both a Classics mold and a Movieverse mold. It really doesn't help that Hasbro used the one Movieverse mold that fits in neither Prime or G1 because it's so alien-looking and oddly proportioned. Why couldn't they at least choose DOTM Skyhammer, who looks reasonably good with Classics figures?

I never said I didn't like it, I just think there are some odd mold/deco choices Hasbro made with this set. As Prime/Aligned figures, they look excellent. I'm just wondering why Hasbro didn't use this opportunity to make some Classics Protectobots.
EDIT: Wait, you were talking about shockblast, weren't you? Dang it, I forgot to read the entire page.

Why would a figure be cancelled if Seibertron had the galleries for it like a month or so ago. The figures had to come from somewhere like a store. I believe that Seibertron bought them online by someone who had them because if he didn't, he would have notify us their releases in retail stores a long time ago.

Some time ago, someone on the boards (who I will not name) started claiming that Hasbro canceled all future Generations Legends figures (even though we were shown the opposite at Toy Fair) to make room for Age of Extinction, and it caused quite a scare in the community, causing South Asian releases to spike up to about $60 a pop.

Protectobots to go with Rezcue Bots! Whoo!

Hey, I wonder if the red Hot Spot would work for HEATWAVE better than the ROTF Rescue Ratchet Humvee? I wish I. Had GDO HotSpot, and I've been using ROTF Evac as Generations RescueBots Blades anyway, so the two pack is iffy somewhat, but I love the three pack. Groove is an In-scale Motorcycle, AND he has TWO guns!

Depending on the color that this Hotspot turns out to be, and the head mold used, you might even use him as a "G1" Classics Inferno, with something akin to his original ladder accessory, instead of the "water canon" the Universe 2008 and Henkei figures come with. I'm still hoping for a more orangey color for a G1 cartoon Hauler. :)

I too thought hasbro cancelled these guys, wouldnt blame them since wave 1 & 2 are still clogging pegs. But id like to get tailgate but $10 is jut to much for em, i have prime & megatron and they're just not worth the price. Id be comfortable with $8 but nothing more than that, ill just wait and see if these even show up then wait for a sale or coupon like i did with prime & megs.

As for the protectobots i think its way to soon to be repainting TFP molds, they should've taken old movie molds so it would fit in with AoE, they used blazemaster so why not do the same with the rest? Granted TFP does fit in better with bayformers than any other incarnation but like i said its just to soon. Those molds can still be found on clearance at some stores. I think hasbro just had some left overs in the factory so they did this to get rid of them.

Repaints are not literal repaints of already produced toys. Hasbro and Takara don't take extra "stock" of a mold and paint it over with new colors and repackage it. They're newly produced from the existing plastic injection molds, using different plastic colors and new paint masks. There's no leftover Ratchets and Prowls sitting around being painted over with different colors.

Any reason Windblade costs more than a standard deluxe price? Would that mean that it would be a higher suggestd retail price for big box stores? Or is BBTS just making it more expensive since it knows it can get those few dollars more from fans since this is a figure that might be sought after more?

Probably the latter. They might suspect she'll be in higher demand, so they're charging a bit more for her.

Definitely the latter, BBTS does this all the time with single figures as they will lower the price for non-desired figures like bumblebees, this practice is in no way any indication of suggested retail prices at Big box stores.
