Yup, I'm getting antsy waiting to see TakTom's Devy so I know what to expect before deciding on which version to get. Right now the SDCC version blows the retail version out of the water, but if the Unite version does indeed have some remolded bits like was teased, then that one will be the one for me.

Hopefully we'll know in the next couple of days. :)

I'm getting the Hasbro version. It's good enough.

None, that's just them speculating. The only true mold difference are:

- the SDCC one has the toy-inspired head, without the visor
- the Unite Warriors one is teased to have guns for the individual Constructicons.

I have a hard time scrapping together the cash for something this big, but I really want it. So I've been looking at the Hasbro release. It's a good price for what we get. A bit spendy, but worth it.

However, I really do like the added paint apps for SDCC... but not sure I want to go SDCC prices...

And now Takara is offering extra guns. I hate the idea that there are guns out there but I wouldn't have them...

Lot of things trying to push me toward the non-Hasbro ones... but the added mystery cost is still a major issue. If we're talking an extra $30... then maybe. If they tack on $100 then I'll paint my own Apps...

REALLY wish we had some more news... Help to make some decisions. :HEADHURTS:

So who's the news team covering the TT announcement in Japan on Saturday regarding Devastator?! And anything else that comes from their presentation :)

The Unite Warriors teaser silhouette looks to have Scrapper with a bent elbow. The Hasbro version of course has none, but with TakTom having gone as far as making a new mold for their Defensor, it's speculated they did some remolding of their version of Devastator and at the very least gave Scrapper elbows.

As it stands, TakTom's version has G1 guns for the individual bots, whereas Hasbro's doesn't.

yeah... the guns are a major selling point for me.

Which is weird since I REALLY don't expect to have him separated into the individual bots very often.

Still, I want them!! >.<

I rarely combine my figs and display them in their individual bot mode, so posability is a must for me with those guys.

The head still looks good. I look forward to getting the Comic Con version at the convention soon

i hope you are right but..... i was thinking it looked more like the wrists were bent in as if scrapper were about to bump fists with himself. the angle and the fact that it is a silhouette make it seem like elbows are present. either way, just having guns makes takara's better and i'm positive that it will have better paint apps. but how much more will it cost us.....

Yeah, I'm in no way saying there IS remolding done, just that the teaser pic plus the fact they made a whole new component for their Defensor doesn't rule the possibility of remolding out.

And with that face on the back, his box doubles as an homage to the Ohmeg Xt'Tapalatakettle head in your basement!

Course, the only question big enough to match a box of that size is:
Any sign of six extra guns in with him?

Are you ok with stock images instead of in hand pics? Because there are a ton here.

Here<s a quick one of all of them in one frame:

Also, I hope no one hates me too much but I actually do not like the chrome. Since just some of the purple is chrome, it looks kinda weird. I didnt care too much about Leader Jetfire's Chrome because it was optional (you could remove the guns) and all the chromed pieces were the same red pieces, fitting uniformly on the figure. But some people didnt like it, and now I kinda get it because here it totally distracts from the rest of the figure and gives an uneven look. The paint apps are better, sure, but the adding of chrome takes away any G1 show accuracy and instead gives us something that doesnt really jive well all together. Just my opinion and a reason to not have to splurge on this toy.

Also, the headsculpt is not the head I associate with Devastator but thats a personal thing.

Oh you know what I mean bro' That Titan size is just what the doctor has ordered to go with my Voyager size G1 figs. It's just some people who just are ostinate about it.

I look at the picture you responded to and I honestly do not see anything meriting that kind of a comment. Yes, CW Devy has flaws, but he's impressively articulated for a figure his size and what problems there are do not subtract from his impressiveness. They especially do not deserve to be hated upon at every turn.
