If Bulletbike could get his own Sidecar Micron/Targetmaster thingie (perhaps one that doubled up as a mini-sub) that would be super.

But otherwise yes Bulletbike is a very good idea the mould is very well shaped to him. It would be nice to have one of the worst Transformers toys get a toy representation with some usable joints in it.

Also yes I'd like to see some guns sold for the Bikes too (by 3rd parties) to give them side guns both originals had as well as perhaps the hand gun Groove had too.

I'm super keen to get Runabout & Override sometime I think both would be pretty useful long term. Runabout suits both Menasor and Scourge and Override looks good on his own but likely has additional functionality with Sky Lynx and suits him colour wise way better than WreckGar does. Perhaps there is some functionality to be used with Victorion too.

He looks much better when attached to Menasor since his colors are more closely based on Menasor's roller car than Blackjack's colors are.

Stuartmaximus wrote:+ Why are they porting two molds(Groove, Blackjack/Rodimus) over to RID? I can't see them running out of ideas for figures already? especially when there's still a ton of Decepticons that still could be released in toy form.

Takara put every CW Legends class toy in their Adventure line because they're selling the Combiners as five-packs in Unite Warriors to be as show-accurate as possible. Menasor and Defensor only had five members, not six, and none of them were chestplates. So Takara threw all of the Legends class molds (Powerglide, Shrapnel, Bombshell, Cosmos, and these two) into the Adventure line where they are officially ignoring any and all playability between them and the Combiners.

Smart move by takara. Powerglide made one stupid looking gun and the whole chest plate idea was dumb to begin with. Everybody talked crap about it on TFC Uranus with phantom ray but when Hasbro does the same thing now everybody loves it. It looked horrible on menasor with his chest doors opened up creating a hollow shell surrounding the car which wasnt even symmetrical. And groove was stupid as a chest plate too like Hasbro said "if we dont make him a leg WTF should we do with him ?" As far as im concerned its the Override mold and Groove is the lazy repaint lol. Now to find him some guns...

I personally really like Blackjack and Groove as chest minions. They add a little extra look, in Menasor's case I prefer the chest piece than the open or closed doors alone, and while Defensor's chest is amazing, Groove looks good attached on there. He adds a little bit more bulk to the guy, and I like that Defensor is so bulky. Superion should be lanky and the other big 3 combiners should be a bit more bulky to me :BOT:

The latter is an homage to the Triggerbot of old, and a blue/red deco on Generations Legends Groove. The other figure is of course calling back to the Battlecharger from 1986, using its red and black scheme of the Blackjack mold. Click on any of the images below to view the full galleries!

What do you mean "cross into other product lines"? This Override toy is a homage to G1 Override, a Transformers toy.

And they can't legally do full on GoBot homages. The last time they tried doing that (Movie Fracture) it ended up with all parties being uncomfortable and unsure if Hasbro really should have done what they did by making it.

Out of curiosity, where does this come from? It sounds like conjecture, much like the supposed "VW won't allow a licensed Transformers toy to be made" rumor that so many fans believe is true, yet there is no official statement of this anywhere to be found to the best of my knowledge.

The best person I know to ask about this subject directly would be TF_JW, since I'm going by things that he has said about this elsewhere.

Where or when did someone from Hasbro ever say this in public though? It seems like a really out of the norm statement for Hasbro to make. If a question about Fracture/Crasher was asked at a BotCon or other convention panel, this seems like the type of question that would get the usual "that's a question for our legal department" generic answer.

Nothing public has been stated nor will be stated.

But with IP split between Tonka, Bandai, and Hanna Barbera and Hasbro only buying Tonka's share of it, it's a messy gray area to try to wade into.

I assumed as much. Just want to point out to Sabreblade how different that reads than "The last time they tried doing that (Movie Fracture) it ended up with all parties being uncomfortable and unsure if Hasbro really should have done what they did by making it." That's a blanket statement saying that Bandai, Hanna Barbera, and anyone else involved was uncomfortable and unsure, whereas we have no idea and it's just a gray area for Hasbro to go into, as TF_JW stated. It's a big difference between the meanings of both of those statements.

I assume something similar was also made about VW back in the day, most likely pertaining to the Binaltech/Alternators line, and then fan conjecture turned it into the very odd rumor that many fans take as fact at this point about VW not wanting their brand to be associated with war products like Transformers.

New Galleries: Robots In Disguise Warrior Class Quillfire and Thunderhoof

We had a nice sneak peek the other day but now it's time to give you the full galleries of both Robots In Disguise Warrior Class Quillfire and Thunderhoof. These are really looked forward to by fans since they help fill the Decepticon ranks of a line which was very Autobot heavy in the first year. A few things to note is how well the animalistic designs have been integrated in these toys. Every previously released Thunderhoof figure (ie the one step and legion class toy) have both a rake for tractor mode and antlers for robot/beast mode while the show design clearly has both of them as the same piece. This toy fulfills that design by having his vehicle rake become his antlers.

With Quillfire, a bunch of quills can be flipped out of his back to give him a show accurate look. He even comes with an extra quill (along with a gun) that can be held as a knife and stored onto his back among his other quills.

These two figures are from Wave 6 of the Robots in Disguise Warrior Class and are due for retail release between Q1 and Q2 2016. Feel free to click on any picture to be brought to their extended gallery.

Well the problem with Phantom Ray is that he's pretty floppy and doesn't work well as a chest plate. Personally I think he was a great idea and I'd buy him if they ever made him separately available.

It looked horrible on menasor with his chest doors opened up creating a hollow shell surrounding the car which wasnt even symmetrical.

Asymmetry is an underrated thing. Plus it was a neat homage to the original toy's car drone. The problem with him was that he doesn't hold on very well.
And groove was stupid as a chest plate too like Hasbro said "if we dont make him a leg WTF should we do with him ?"

Nah man. He looks pretty good as a chest plate, and it makes a lot more sense than him being a limb. Plus, it was only a matter of time before that dirty hippy Groove made way for the REAL hero- Protectobot "Cook the Crook" Rook and his fist of justice.

As far as im concerned its the Override mold and Groove is the lazy repaint lol. Now to find him some guns...

First our lord and saviour Alpha Bravo, and now poor Groove? I don't think you quite understand how repaints work.

(I agree that Override needs some big ol' chromed up guns though.)

Thunderhoof actually looks pretty cool...except like Strongarm he's as hollow as an argument from a Salon article. Hmm. Also he really should be a Voyager. I do like his weapon though.

Quillfire though...I like him. I like him a lot actually. That said, ironically enough, I don't like his weapon. I mean, it's cool and all, and I like the fact it stores in vehicle mode, but it's kinda small. I might get on ze Shapeways and make him a new weapon styled on an oversized version of the Needler from Halo. It would be appropriate.
