Honestly, if they have to keep releasing the same characters, I'd prefer this. I like the idea of modernizing existing designs, allowing the brand to grow and do new things while still banking on nostalgia.

That's what the Cyberverse designs and show are all about.

Wasn't that the original goal of the Classics line? Modernizing old characters and designs?

If the new trilogy stuff didn't exist I'd have happily added some Cyberverse toys into my collection.

THis.

It's redundancy. A second, all-different line would probably result in increased sales. I wonder how many Cyberverse sales were lost to WFC and vice versa for this exact reason... :-?

I'm pretty sure that's completely irrelevant. Appart the deluxes (who are all the same size so screw scale) the markets are completely different.

I didn't bought much Cyberverse but if I see a bot that is cool, awesome, and fun, (and I have the spare cash) I'm not stopping myself from buying it. No matter the line.

Restrictive rules for collecting suck out all the fun.

None, because the lines are for different age groups. Some people even say the WFC lines is for teens and adults only (which is wrong, but goes to show how people view them as completely different markets).

Also, I interpreted Gauntlet's line as meaning the original classics line, which had updated designs (different alt modes, different looking bot modes). The WFC line doesn't have much in terms of updated designs. It's basically G1 plus articulation.

Stock Images for Cyberverse Ultimate Rodimus

We saw a small image of Transformers Cyberverse Ultimate Rodimus on yesterday's Volcanicus reveal and now we have the stock images from Amazon. Fans were rather forgiving, and some even excited, for Ultimate Volcanicus, due to his unconventional toy aspect (a combiner with an alt mode) but we'll see what the fan response for this Rodimus toy is (even though this is for young kids and not older fans).
Some interesting things to note, with this release we now have a Rodimus toy for every main class.
His weapon plugs into the front of the car and serves as his flame design in car mode, although the unpainted nature of the flames is too bad. It may not be intentional but the weapon does remind some of the weapon they gave the Rodimus toy in Combiner Wars (image below).

The weapon is a Doink-Doink Stick, like what the Mistress of Flame had in Machinima's Prime Wars Trilogy.

I dunno, I think the "weapon" is for playing shuffleboard. In fact, he looks rather enthusiastic for the next game in the pic on the back of the box.

Yeah, not doing it for me, just like most of the figures in this class these days. Doubly so because my Iaconus seems to be broken after transforming him just once. Went to put him back into bot mode and his torso refuses to lock so the the whole top half swings backwards. I don't see any broken parts, but I also can't see what actually locks it in place. If I can't figure it out then a kid sure wouldn't be able to so there's something definitely wrong.

For me, it's the "Go Go Power Rangers" bit that's bothering me. It's a Wild Force toy, so it oughta say "Guardians of the Earth, United we Roar!"

Guys, relax, it's a toy for preschoolers; they're not gonna care about continuity like grown fans. Heck, they're far more likely to play out this exact same scenario, plus throw some LEGO and Transformers in for good measure, plus a plushie for a Kaiju.

(though I will admit, the random "Go Go Power Rangers" as if it's a franchise-wide expression and not something more recognizable from the first seasons is a bit wince-inducing)

As for the Volcanicus toy, while it is disappointing that it's not a "real" combiner, it does bring to mind two concepts which I think haven't really been fully explored in Transformers combiners yet and I'd like to see in the future: animal combiners instead of humanoid, weapon or vehicle combiners(the closest I can think from the top of my head are G1 Sky Lynx, Beast Wars Neo Magmatron and The Last Knight Dragonstorm), and combiners with their own alt-mode (which admittedly, would be a nightmare to engineer).

It also reminds me of the Anibots and their Dragon Beast combiner from the early draft of the 86 movie.

Normally I don't pick this kind of figure up. But, Hot Rod is my favorite 'Bot and this version immediately reminded me of another favorite A.B.C. Warriors!

Now I might jut have to pick him up.

On Slug: man he looks so cool! He looks far more interesting than his SS86 counterpart. I actually cancelled my preorder for him after seeing this Slug. So far the Cyberverse Dinobots have 3/5 classic teammates in good toy form and it makes me very excited for them. And they are a unique and cool design with new weapons that I love. I feel great about getting them!

Volcanicus: god, that thing is so stupid and I absolutely love it. I will be getting it

New Cyberverse Toy Ultra Ramjet Found in Singapore

PostPosted: Wed Aug 25, 2021 8:42 pm
by william-james88
We have another previously unannounced toy now found at retail (always a fun surprise). This is from the Cyberverse line, which Hasbro does not promote. It Ramjet, which is a new entry into the ultra Energon Armour class. These are voyageur-ish height and simple enough for 6 year olds. The energon armour on this one is rather interesting since it looks like Divebomb. This toy comes with two gun accessories.
BattkeUpSaber found it at a Takashimaya store in Singapore.
You'll let us know what you think.

And Skullcruncher's shipping again? Awesome! I kept putting off getting him before, and then suddenly he was nowhere to be found in any Target.

Maybe there'll be some reason for the Divebomb homage in the last two Cyberverse specials (or not), but I'd have been happier with Energon Armor resembling Nosecone or Zetar for an Animated homage, and a more functional look. Still, just nice to have a Conehead Cyberverse Seeker in a decent size!

I never thought I'd get Skullcruncher but I did. And no regrets even at full price because he's AWESOME!

Sure, he's hollow and light. He pose well enough and surprisingly, he's incredibly well balanced!

The armor gimmick is clever and even have a "chomping action"!

The transformation is clever and fun. The Croc is superb looking from all angles.

Cyberverse Skullcruncher may not be a headmaster, but I think he's way superior than the Titan Return deluxe.

I highly recommend him. ;)^

Target Stores are Restocked their TF Section with Latest Toys Including New Cyberverse Cheetor

PostPosted: Sat Aug 28, 2021 9:21 pm

Many fans have been posting images of the barren Transformers section of their local Target. Even if there are no toys one may be specifically looking for, it's nice to know there are some toys of our favourite brand around for anyone who may want some, be it kids or collectors. Well, it seems Target is in full swing for restocking their Transformers section. Right now, the latest Transformers toys being released by Hasbro are all from the new Dinobots Unite subline of their Cyberverse line. While that means it is mostly for kids with many reissues from the previous year(s), there are some items that fans of any age might like. For instance, deluxe Cheetor is being found on shelves now. We also have wave 5 of the Tiny Turbo Changers. Wave 5 is all repacks but it helps fans get another chance at characters they may have missed in the past since the distribution of these toys was pretty rough for people.

Any restocking is good news, so we wanted to share that with you. You'll let us know if your local Target is getting restocked too and if you are picking up any of these new toys.

The image below is from a Target in Costa Mesa, California, and was taken by Shark Jumper who posted it on the TFW2005 boards.
