About Legions Hot Rod. Yes, there are a ton of Legion figures and the old Legends (meaning what the Legion Class was called before it was called Legion Class) figures that share that same transformation. That transformation is as old as Transformers themselves. RID Blurr, Drift, Sideswipe, Bisk. Generations Jazz, Prowl, G2 Tank Megatron. Even G1 Windcharger for the most part.
I'm sure there are a ton more. I'm just going from memory.

I'm 100% sure that TLK Legion Hot Rod is a new mold without even having it in hand. I do however have Road Buster in my hand right now and nothing about him matches Hot Rod. Except, his transformation.

I did some research on the mold relationship between Lockdown and Hot Rod. The Deluxe is properly retooled into a different model Lamborghini, the Centenario, while the rest isn't, keeping the Aventador one.
Turns out changing the car shell on the simple toys isn't necessary as the Deluxe Lockdown is the only licensed toy of that character, the rest is unlicensed approximations. How about that.

Any info yet on if the new torso guy for Infernocus has his own modes or just turns into a torso?

Skulk? I think he just has a torso mode, I don't see any dedicated monster mode bits on him.

Assuming the box is not lying, yes, he's the only one without a monster mode, just robot and torso:

that...feels strangely incomplete, for some reason. The fact that the torso bot has no alt mode even tough all his limb bots does makes it feels like he is the only odd one from the team.

I'll have to disagree, I checked it and no details match. The transformation is the same aside from the arms, but as far as I can see, it's all-new.

I think so too. It's not because the transformation is the same that it's the same mold.

If it is a retool, its so extensive, it may as well just be a new mold.

Everybody is talking as if there is a clear definition of what counts as a retool. As far as I know, its not clear. If we take the Hasbro definition of changing the actual physical mold, then most of what you guys consider to be a retool isnt. For instance, PMOP uses new molded parts as well as old magnus parts. They didnt go to the mold and actually change anything, they just made a new one. So its more that PMOP and Ultra Magnus share some parts. But some call it a retool. Or more easily, those new heads we see on redecos (like T30 Dreadwing and Megatron). If the head isnt based on the previous head, then it a new mold and thus nothing was technically retooled.

For me, I look at CAD alterations based on previous designs. It's changing the tooling at the design level and it counts as a retool for me. Just like I consider these guys below retools since they share the same base CAD design built for the transformation (and one came well after the other so we know what is based on what) even though they dont share any parts. I never felt the sharing of parts was essential for a retool, especially since the idea of a retool is that you change a part for it to be different than what it was before.

So by my personal definition, the guys above are retools even though they don't share any parts.

Fair enough, both sides already acknowledged that Roadbuster and Hot Rod don't share parts, but do share parts of the transformation. There are differences in the latter aspect:

- Roadbuster has no flip-out heels/feet, but Hot Rod does.
- The arms end up in opposite directions in vehicle mode: Roadbuster's aim up, Hot Rod's aim down

Can we agree on that?

OK, thoughts so far on the new releaes in this line:

Nitro looks absolutely awesome and he will be mine. I know some people reckon he'd make a good Thunderwing but...nah. I will say, though, I'm planning on a very silly headcanon for him:

"When Nitro (or whatever I'm gonna end up calling him) underwent the Headmaster process, something went a bit wrong and his head didn't gain the ability to transform. On the plus side, he can still survive decapitation and use his head on compatible bodies like any other Headmaster. Unfortunately, when not connected to a body, his head is, well, just a head. A limbless, immobile head. He's a little bit annoyed about this, as being an aviation enthusiast he was looking forward to getting the opportunity to try out flying some of his favourite human aircraft in his smaller robot mode. He also wishes the Autobot known as Cogman would stop stealing his body and going for joyrides. In his off time he enjoys going to aircraft museums and watching air shows, which would normally attract the scorn of the other Decepticons were it not for the fact he has a tendency to get very, very angry when anyone mocks his hobbies."

Cogman looks a lot of fun and I like that his car mode seats two. A shame his paint (or lack thereof) will probably suck but oh well, I suppose I could repaint him if I really feel the need to.

Both Megatrons look awesome. I was considering having him as the Fallen/Megatronus Prime, but actually, I think he'd make a sweet Liege Maximo.

Hot Rod looks...OK. Not terrible but not great.

Skullitron (DOHOHOHO) is Steelbane with a new headsculpt. Next.

Primus is a nice redeco, reminds me of WFC Cybertron.

Dragonstorm, terrible names aside, looks beastly. I love the combined altmode feature and the dragon mode looks incredible.

Infernocus...Well, the combined mode looks great with the new torso, but the lack of a beast mode for the torso bot and the bland colours suuuuuuuck.

Also, given the recent info releases regarding the new Decepticons, am I the only one who's disppointed we won't get a ROTF Brimstone redeco/retool into Mohawk?

That would've been hella. And while it doesn't exactly seem like he'd be a high possibility anyway, I somewhat suspect this is at least partly because the Scout class doesn't exist anymore and TLK only has Legions, not the Generations-size Legends. Might have been nice to see him in some sort of exclusive boxset, though...

The death of Scout class is one of the great tragedies of the franchise IMO. Cyberverse too- the Legions are fun and all but having the bigger guys available in Commander class was awesome.

I just realized, not counting ROTF Detour (who is sadly broken, which is a shame as he was a fine figure) I don't own ANY ROTF Scouts. I must fix this at some point. Brimstone is definitely on the list, as is Oil Pan and Ransack.

Anyway, topic. You know who I'm REALLY sad isn't getting a toy (AFAIK)? That WW1 Mark IV Tank Autobot from the snippets we've seen. I dunno if he's actually a separate entity or another body for Cogman, but WW1 tanks are absolutely awesome (unless you're driving one) and we've never had one as a TF altmode.

Just bought TLK Premium Edition Optimus Prime yesterday at my local Toys'R'Us in Iceland. I don't know if this OP is a chase figure for a voyager but i only saw 3 of him for the last weeks and mine was the last one left. ;)^

The store also had 5 of warrior class Barricade, 3 Grimlocks(sold out), of Dinobot Scorn, 4 of that decepticon DoTM SUV with Dreads and surprisingly only 3 bumblebees

Voyager Optimus is not rare, but he's more in demand than Grimlock because he's a brand new mold.

How do you like him so far?

Definitely like him a lot  Great poseability and i mostly like the robot form so i havent transformed him yet. I also regret that since hasbros focuses more on melee weapon with movie Prime and no blaster included.
I dont have a lot of compatible guns and all i had left was a this megatron gun from 2006 Image

They didn't. He's very similar but got almost all completely new parts. The lower legs are the main thing that's the same. And I think both toys look pretty decent. Only reason I didn't buy Lockdown was because he was far too small as a Deluxe scale robot going up against voyager or leader Optimus Primes. I've still been meaning to get the oversized KO instead.

I notice in the latest trailer that Bee is with another robot when they are attacking the German compound in WWII.

I didn't check to see if it's Hound or someone recognisable - I would doubt that they'd be mischieful enough to make it Cliffjumper though.

I really want a WWII bee toy - but I wouldn't be surprised if we get one next year in the Bee Movie line as a retrospective - I hope anyone who gets in Hasbro's face remembers to keep asking for another go at the 1970's bee too. As I expect 2018 will be the year of many many many Bumblebees.

Listings and Photos on Toysrus Australia for Transformers: The Last Knight Drgonstorm and RC Sqweek

Toysrus Australia has listings for both Transformers: The Last Knight Autobot Sqweeks RC and Transformers: The Last Knight Mega 1-Step Turbo Changer Dragonstorm. The listings have official in box images as well as larger images of the finished toy stock images we previously saw. Both are $119.99 AUS (around $90 USD). They are not in stock yet but should be soon. For those not in the know, Dragonstorm is made to interact with the one step figures by shining UV light onto them and making flames (his cyberfire breath) appear.
