At first glance, I anticipated the leader Megs to be superior to the voyager due to its presence, its gimmicks/accessories (changing face plate and flame effect parts FTW) and detailing. But now, the voyager stands as the better-engineered figure. It may not match the leader in terms of accessories (the size and the pin in the middle of the fusion cannon really bug me), but its engineering negates many problems which the leader has while coming across as fresh and intuitive. However, the leader still looks to be a fun figure with a good deal of play value!

Yeah again there seems to be no bad Megatron figure so far in this line no matter what the size (and even that retooled Deluxe isn't bad if not quite for me). I went for the Voyager because of the cheaper price and the better scale to my other figures (including Voyager Prime) and I'm very happy with my choice and he looks great on my shelf (and on my desk... he's already become one of my most transformed figures in years especially considering his size and complexity compared to my usual desk-formers). Leader Megatron may have a couple flaws but he has some great things going for him too including that neat face changing gimmick the Voyager does not have. I think they all have their pros and cons but all are great so no matter which version you buy for your personal collection you should be pretty satisfied with him. :)

For those who want to see this on Youtube:

This guy looks GORGEOUS! MAN! He even has wrist swivels! I thought he didn't! That makes him SO much better! :D And that face mask gimmick tho! DANG!

So it looks like Leader Megs has swivels in the wrists to allow for somewhat "normal" arm movement.

The more I see the movie toys, the more bummed I am that Bee doesn't get his hammer. I am loving his hammer.

And I really can't wait to see new toys. All the stores around here still have wave 1 and there are tons of guys I need to get in wave 3. Wave 2 is decent and does include almost every Megatron I plan to get (which is all but one)

Transformers: The Last Knight Mission to Cybertron Legion 2-Packs at Australian Retail

After a California sighting, as seen here, we also have a Canberra, Australia, reporting from fellow Seibertronian Rainmaker of the Toys'R'Us exclusive Mission to Cybertron legion 2-packs, featuring Optimus Prime and Grimlock, and Bumblebee and Megatron!

Check out the photo proof below, and head to our Sightings section to find out if more have been found in your area. Happy Hunting!

Sighted both MtC Legion 2-packs at a Toys R Us in Canberra. For some odd reason they're $30, making each legion cost $15. Megatron released before the original Megatron.

I don't know if it's the same for everyone but my mission glyph for the Bumblebee VS Megatron 2-Pack is Galvatron

Also Bumblebee is disappointing, his top half windows are painted and has the extra details but his legs don't have the extra details or paint on the windows.

In Hand Images of Last Knight Deluxe Hot Rod with Comparisons to AOE Lockdown

It turns out our fellow Podcaster Scotty P was right when saying that his initial impression of Transformers: The Last Knight Deluxe Hot Rod was seeing it as mostly a new mold. In hand images of this toy have been uploaded to Transformers Never Die fan site by Blackai, covering the toy's many angles and, more importantly, includes images next to Lockdown. It is here that we see that this toy is more of an inspiration from the Lockdown mold, using its design as a base and building from it like Titans Return Chromedome did with Combiner Wars Dead End, rather than a more common retool. Wha sells this is the upscaled nature of this toy. In both modes, this toy is larger than the Lockdown mold, at least from what the pictures show. While the transformation remains very similar to Lockdown's there is a new trick for the arms. In terms of parts and scale, this is very much a new and distinctive toy, offering a unique build for Hot Rod, while still having a familiar car mode and transformation.

For those unaware, this is a Walmart Exclusive in the US (and presumably in other countries where Walmart operates).

Enjoy the images and click here to be brought to the original post for more.

"Wha sells this is the upscaled nature of this toy."

I'm guessing there's a typo there, unless I'm having a brain event. =P~

ETA
Oh, just got it, it's a simple missing T to make wha into what. Whew, glad it wasn't my brain. I need that to live. ;)^

$72 for two deluxes? I dunno about protoform but deluxe DOTM OP is NOT worth $36 in any universe I live in. Even at half that price it'd be a ripoff. I hope it's just local market forces driving the price and it'll be much cheaper if/when it winds up in other locales, because holy smokes.

Definitely going to have to pick this up. It's a massive retool, in all the good ways.

I wonder if they'll give us a traditional Hot Rod deco later down the road.

We already know how much it is in the US: $40

Some pretty impressive retooling going on here... reminds me a bit of Titans Return. Hasbro have upped their game in the mold re-use area and they've no intentions of going back.

Huh the only things that show it's a retool is the white/silver neck piece, the lower legs and feet and presumably the Transformation.

While it's a shame the chest is not raised and the feet are Lockdown's this Hot rod seems to be a good figure for him.

I'd have liked that Proto-form Optimus in the Cybertron (Beast) Optimus Prime Colours - or even Optimus Primal colours he's always reminded me of that toy & toys.

The Silver-gray is kinda plain looking - I need to see what it looks like next to the blue Grey Original - not something I'm going to be chasing though with much enthusiasm.

Optimus seems very similar to the original mould - I like the gun though.

Damn that Hot Rod is so very nice and being bigger than Lockdown is a big surprise too. A very likely purchase from me! I need to know which UK store will have him.

ALso it's a bit odd that on the box Bumblebee is the main focus and pushing Hot Rod off the edge. As if Bee doesn't have enough attention already. :P

Where do the weapons come from that the figure is holding in that collector's images?

From what I can tell, the lower legs and more importantly, the basic skeleton is reused from Lockdown, with the new Hot Rod parts built around it.

One of them is AOE Hounds gun and I don't know about the second but I assume it comes from the same place.

I still wish weapon packs were a thing. Just a whole bunch of random and awesome guns, swords, shields and such with 5mm posts. Easily equip weaponless figures without depriving others of theirs.
