More Images of Walmart Exclusive Voyager Cybertron Override Show us it is a Completely New Mold

We showed two images earlier today of the upcoming voyager Cybertron Override from Walmart's exclusive Velocitron line. This toy will be sold individually, not part of a multipack and will be at the voyager price point even though, as we see below, it is the same size as voyager SS86 Hot Rod in robot mode. The alt mode, however, is much longer. It looks like an entirely new mold, which finally gives us a good toy for Override/Nitro Convoy, which was a super cool design with an underwhelming toy in the Cybertron and Galaxy Force lines. The images come from a Prime vs Prime review, you'll let us know what you think.

Interesting.... definitely not Hot Rod. Looks like an entirely new mold.
However this then poses another question. If she's a new mold, then who is going to be the secondary use? Call me crazy, but I see Pointblank potential there.

Want to see more of it. But I may just get it. It would look interesting next to the original

I hope it's not for pointblank! A harsh retool of counter punch would be better. :KREMZEEK:

That looks like a most excellent upgrade from his/her Cybertron/Galaxy Force days!

OUR WALLETS ARE IN DANGER.jpg

Hope isn't lost after all! Now that's a UT update! This honestly looks like a fantastic update. I didn't think I'd be glad she's a voyager, but now that I see the figure, I am. It looks like a lot of that extra budget went into making her more solid and hefty so she could fit in better with the original Cybertron toys. My only nitpick is I still don't think she looks 100% worth voyager price; I think for the price they could have included a cyber key, even as just an accessory.

Since this seems to be a completely new mold, I wonder what this means for Cosmos and Blurr.

And for anyone curious, here's a size comparison between the original Override and SS86 Hot Rod. Based on the comparisons in the review, it seems like this new version will scale well with the old one.

It's in the comments for the actual news article but not in the thread itself.

I'd hope they do Shattered Glass Elita-1 since that was based on Override GTS.

Wow, now that's a proper upgrade! It really looks like the original - particulary the vehicle mode - but with improved articulation and much better proportions.

It's a shame it still doesn't have the Cyber Planet Key, but unlike Optimus Prime/Galaxy Convoy and Metroplex/Megalo Convoy, it keeps the gimmick it activated and there have been other major/visual interpretations of this character outside Cybertron (namely Animated, Aligned and both versions of IDW), so it's not as much of a gamechanger for me.

The original was one of those rare Cybertron figures that was good, but had a couple of faults that really hurt it. This, this looks like it's fixed all those faults. Will be making the effort to pick it up.
In before primalxconvoy has a sook about PrimevsPrime

That offset port might be a homage to the original toy. That port is where the spring-loaded gimmick would fold up and store.

The fact that so far we have 4 Cybertron updates, and 3 of them (Galaxy Prime, Metroplex, and Override) are pretty dang good is a success to me. Hot shot might be the only dud, but he's not bad, just under-bulked and under-weaponed up.

But I am glad Override and Metroplex look so dang good

Would have been good, but with this toy, the voyager price point is almost trivial. It has all the making of a toy with a crazy aftermarket price in the not too distant future with it being an exclusive new mold of a unique show character that never gets attention, and is part of a set of Primes. Would be nice if those who don't like the price left it alone rather than bought it knowing of the aftermarket potential.

>:oP

OH and it really is a vast improvement over the original, I was just looking at mine vs the pix..
