Those prices don't surprise me. I bet they are priced to fit in the "Deluxe" price point.
Legends (Commander)=$10
Minicon + armor = $3 to $5

I had more been thinking $29.99 for the same reasons, minicons being $5 and commanders being $10. maybe even a smidge cheaper being they are a set, but oh well. these are more prices I would see BBTS having. :BOT:

I dont get it chuck, these are the same kind of prices we have seen all year.

I think you even get more out of this than a deluxe since you get 2 transforming figures plus armour which can merge into a weapon. The deluxe grimlock didnt even have a weapon.

I think Chuck was just saying that Entertainment Earth is an expensive place to buy things so their price may not be reflective of what the same item would cost in Target or Walmart.

I appreciate the "Commander" class RID items even is some of them are a little redundant - I would be doing what I have to do with the Legends/Basic class and split them into two collections.

For example Optimus/Starscream/Megatron/Acid Storm/Thundercracker/Optimus/Skywarp would be used as "larger" toys and apired with the likes of Legion/Legends class toys from some years ago like : Hound, Bumblebee, Beachcomber.

Where as : Groove, Warpath, Bumblebee, Gears, Swerve, Tailgate, Windcharger, Huffer, Pipes, Viper, Cosmos, & Powerglide fit into the Minibot scale when taken with a Deluxe... those would for exmple Go OK with Jet Bomber Megatron & Orion Pax.

Rodimus, Scrapnel & Bombshell can be either or.

So the same idea with RID-15/16 would be that Optimus & Grimlock would be leadership characters paired with Legion Bumblebee/Sideswipe etc..

Where as the new Bumblebee & Sideswipe would be the smaller characters I'd use with the warrior Megatronus & Optimus toys. (but legions work well for that too in vehicle mode at least - not so much in robot mode).

So I will need to see them as 2 things just like I feel the need to do with the previous Legends/Basic toys that represent bigger and smaller characters in the same price point.

I don't find that a distraction though.

BBTS has wave 1 in stock too with a much more reasonable price. The Entertainment Earth price was a bit high for the figures, roughly $2-$3 more.

becasue these are essentially redecos and the colours on the box are of the original characters. I am just assuming this on Beast box being the case and turning it into a blanket statement.

Robots in Disguise fans looking for new Mini-Cons will be happy to note that the 1st wave of Mini-Con Battle Packs have been found at retail. Sideswipe comes with Anvil while Optimus Prime comes with Bludgeon and each contains translucent pieces which can attach to Optimus Prime and Sideswipe as armor or combine into a larger weapon. These were found at Toys R Us in Westland, MI for $14.99 each by Seibertron Podcaster Tigertrack. Interesting to note that in the Official Images, Bludgeon was referred to as Doomitron.

Robots In Disguise Minicon Battle Pack Optimus Prime vs Blugeon Out of Package Images

Howdy, fellow Seibertronians. Following the first in store sighting of Robots in Disguise Minicon Battle Packs; Cobotron has sent us some out of package images and size comparisons of Optimus Prime vs Blugeon. We get a good look at Optimus Prime armored up and of the combined weapon. Prime stands a little taller than the current legends class figures, making him more in line with the scout class of old. When you're done with these new images refresh your memory of the rest of the RID line here.

Oh Will

I managed to snag 1-step Springload over the weekend, and got Jazz as a Christmas gift too. For being underpainted, Jazz is still very cool, and I love little Springload. He looks mean and he really does look like a frog. And I can't stop singing "Ribbits in disguise" :BOT:

So, he's bigger than a Generations Legends class figure? Ladies and gentlemen, the Basic/Scout class has finally returned!

Also, looks like a much better figure than the Warrior.

Ya, Maybe. People poo poo ball joints. But I don't get it. Ball joints are what made Beast Wars such great toys... IMO.

New Sightings for RID 1-Step Springload, Quillfire, new BB and 3 Step Thunderhoof/Drift

Fellow Seibertronians, yours truly has spotted the new wave of 1-step changers, featuring Springload, Quillfire, and the new Bumblebee mold at Walmart! This image only shows the Bee mold and the Quillfire figure, but Springload was present and was picked up by said member before this picture was taken. So head on out to your local Walmart's and begin to look as these guys are bound to show up en masse soon!

Still on the Robots in Disguise topic, our very own Scotty P found 3-Step Thunderhoof/Blizzard Strike Drift at US retail. They were found at Toysrus in Raleigh NC for $22.99 each.

Exactly. And even though this Optimus's shoulders aren't ball joints, they still look to be a whole lot better than the Warrior's, whose shoulder joints are some of the worst ones I have ever encountered.

The Warrior's shoulders are absolutely terrible. Aside from their ability to rotate (which every shoulder ought to do anyway), they are stuck in a completely static position with no mobility at all.

What he's saying is that the shoulders on the Warrior had to use the transformation joint to actually move up and down, whereas this one has a ball joint under the armor to move, making it look a bit more natural. Now mind you I still love my warrior but I can see where that nitpick about the transformation joint also being the shoulder vertical movement being a wee bit of a pain :BOT:
