What an odd choice for a redeco? I'd have though there are still a few more colour scheme variants for the Prime mold before 'corpse'??

He would have drifted through the void of space for an indeterminate amount of time, but Megs was still alive.

Bit of a weird choice for a redeco. "Hey, remember when we killed off your childhood idol? Now you can buy a figure of it!". Kinda morbid.

Regarding Toxitron, I'd prefer he was a tanker truck like the cancelled toy, because A: Laser Prime is a cool design and B: a poison/chemical themed Transformer turning into a tanker truck makes sense. What I'd really like though is for him to get a toy that isn't a con exclusive and for him to get actual fiction outside of obscure club one-shots.

For that particular cab-over engine design? Not really, aside from the "all-black" which gets boring. In that aspect it's certainly a different take, something that's been tried only once before:

Note that the MP one has a translucent trailer, and isn't grey at all, just really desaturated reds and blues.

Just a quick peek at the wiki:

We have the BAPE variants.

A minor retool would also give us:

Image

G2 Prime.

A more ambitious retool would give us:

Image

Machine Wars Prime.

Machine Wars would be an interesting line to reintroduce through redecos and Selects. Since they are as alien to most casual fans as Transtech. More interesting than Zombie Prime, anyway.

There's a retailer listing for an "Alternate Universe Optimus Prime" on Amazon, and people think it could be an SG Prime. It could also be a RiD 2001 Optimus that was hinted at by a leaker on TFW2005 who got a ton of other stuff right, like Doubledealer and Arcee (he implied it was RiD OP, but wouldn't give a definitive answer).

I would love for any type of prime, as long as it is not just another stupid rehash of the G1 design. I have gotten so sick of it. I wish hasbro would see that there are another 30+ of TF that happened after 84-85.

I'm ok with a dead Earthrise Optimus Prime colored figure. I still think the trailer is extremely lackluster though. It should've come with a Roller of some sort, more paint and at least an ax or sword or something. I got it the same day I got SS DotM Optimus from Target during that sale a while back. Seeing all that the DotM trailer could do and what it came with just made the Earthrise trailer look like garbage. It doesn't help that the plastic feels like garbage as well.

A new RiD Optimus would be really cool. I have the original but I'd still take a new one as well. I also want a SG Optimus but not really one of Earthrise Optimus due to my problems with the trailer.

As for Toxitron and Nova Prime, I'd love to see them more as well. However, I made some customs of them using Galaxy Upgrade Optimus Prime as well as Delta Magnus from Ultra Magnus so they're not too high on my wishlist at the moment. I was gonna do a few more customs using these two molds but I haven't gotten around to it yet. I did these last year when the figures were cheap then I went back to work full time which caused me not to get around to the rest. I would've done at least Nemesis, SG and Fire Guts from GUOP and Armada Overload and yellow Overload/Shining Magnus from Ultra Magnus. I did several other customs but they're very far off the topic at hand here. I just thought I'd show what some of the mentioned deco ideas would look like using a different Prime mold.

I just realized I never actually finished Nova Prime, I didn't do anything for the faux windows on the shoulder armor. I think it was because I painted behind the translucent plastic to cause the color change in the windows and didn't actually have a color to match to paint the faux windows with and never mixed one myself. I also think I wanted to add some yellow to Delta Magnus in spots too after thinking the grey was too bland in some spots.

Hmmm. the pictures show up when I click preview but they're not actually showing up. Did I do something wrong?

Come on, don't show me those! Don't activate my obscure/weird/stupid redeco sensibilities and make me want a BAPE redeco of Earthrise Optimus!

I'm calling it right now. We will get this toy to symbolize the death of optimus and this will be the wave 3 optimus prime. We will also get hotrod and/or rodimus prime in wave 3. Then wave 4 will be a new optimus prime mold to be the "return of optimus prime" mold and hopefully fix the color mess earthrise is.

I'd rather see a Powermaster Prime redo (I did skip on the TR/Legends version) or G2 Laser Rod for a revived Optimus. The latter is also good material for a Toxitron or Scourge repaint (yeah I know he's called Nemesis Prime now, but a Nemesis Prime with the Laser Rod design might as well be RiD Scourge). Or, hell, any design that isn't the 1984 Diaclone original design.

You think they're gonna release 6 mainline Leader-class figures in a smaller timeframe than they released 4 for Siege?

I think Rodimus and the yet-another-G1-prime-redo will be for Wave 1 of whatever the third part is. My guess is there's at least one more leader mold for ER, even if it might be a serious retool/shared engineering of either existing ones.

Fingers still extremely crossed for Stalker/Machine Wars Soundwave/Cybertron Defense Red Alert.

That's why I said "would have" The Seekers and Insecticons were already dead. Megatron would have succumbed to his wounds eventually. In other words he was dying, just not dead yet.

Also just for the record, I love earthrise Prime, as I mentioned when i first got him, he's the first *proper* Prime I've purchased since getting back into collecting 5 years ago, so while I love this mold, its reuse is pretty pointless in this form.

Generally speaking we get about two or three Leader molds (plus potential retools, which vary in number), at least since Titans Return:
-Titans Return: Sixshot, Soundwave/Blaster, Sky Shadow/Overlord plus the retool of CW Magnus that was Powermaster Prime
-Power of the Prime: Optimus Prime, Rodimus Prime and Optimal Optimus
-Siege: Shockwave, Ultra Magnus/Galaxy Convoy and arguably Astrotrain
-Earthrise: Optimus with Trailer, Doubledealer and maybe Astrotrain. Considering the shared engineering between Voyager Prime and Leader Optimus and Astrotrain I'm not sure if we've seen all of Earthrise. I suspect there might be a figure that's a retool/shared engineering of Doubledealer and maybe another mold. Then again Hasbro has been steadily decreasing the amount of Leader class figures, possibly due to how TR had a glut of them and they are big and pricy toys parents won't impulse buy.

At first I was with you. Although I hadn't gotten any leaders since TR, I did notice considerable lack of them in the last two lines. Then again, we've got Commander Class Now. If it keeps up, I'm och with only 2 or 3 leaders per line, as long as we get 1 CC.

I think Commander is definitely also part of that equation, especially since I'm sure there are Titans Return leaders who, had the class existed back then, would have been made as Commander class. Then again leaders have shrunk so much that the TR-era leaders are noticeably bigger. The only downside, I'd say, is that TR-era leaders were a bit 'brick'-like compared to the smaller, more articulate figures of ER onward. Few, if any of them, have a waist articulation for example. In fact CW/TR/POTP Voyager and Leaders were rather inarticulate.

Sure people complain about the downscaling, but I think the articulation is one area where they decided to trade size for.

I'm fine with them as they are, I'm just saying that had they decided that Size Class/Price Point was going to exist early then I could have seen them choose to make them as Commander Class. However, at the time, Leader was the biggest size class they had which wasn't Titan class. So it made sense back then. I would also not be shocked if we see many of these TR Leaders redone as Commanders down the line, as I know purists will scream about 'muh scale' or 'forced headmaster gimmick' and complain that Overlord and Six Shot weren't 'good enough'.

Can't wait to get my hands on this bumblebee. I only started seriously collecting transformers around power of the prime's and siege, so my collection is relatively small and has some large gaps. Bumblebee is one of those characters that my collection desperately needs.

If we are going by the artwork, it looks like he will be heavily altered from the cliff jumper mold, which I actually prefer. I've always thought that even though bumblebee and cliffjumer have the same body type, their designs should be distinctive from each other

It's weird that they are making a big deal about hiding the feet. I hope it means that they got the license to make him a VW Beetle, or are doing the same thing as the other Earthrise figures with the mostly g1 accurate alt modes that can't get them sued. But at the same time, I am afraid that they might just make him some random car that barely looks like a VW Beetle. Fingers crossed that I'm wrong about that part cause my collection really needs a bumblebee, and I really want him to be a VW Beetle!

Turning back to redecos for a sec. If they did do a new Powermaster Prime, we could also have this guy:
