Pointblank is looking good, also is alpha trion a sweep/scourge retool?

Yes, he is. What little can be seen of Transmetal 2 Megatron looks pretty promising! Can't wait for proper pictures of him. I might have to start thinking of a 3D printable Beast Machines harness.

Seems Weird to jump straight to Transmetal 2 Megatron after getting all the S1 beast wars characters out.

My thoughts on the new Legacy revals:

> Okay, it may sound weird, but I laughed for a solid minute when I saw Pointblank's name was changed to "Autobot Blanker", because I have a friend who goes by the nickname "Blanca", but because of our region's dialect everyone pronounces it as "Blanker". She knows nothing about Transformers, she's only seen the first Michael Bay movie and her favourite Transformer is Frenzy, so I feel as if I need to tell her there is now a Transformer named Blanker, knowing damn well that she won't get the joke.
> That Alpha Trion and Orion Pax set is actually really nice, I like how Alpha Trion has turned out, I don't have the Studio Series 1986 Scourge or Sweep, but it looks like he wears the mould well. I also like the Vector Sigma accessory, it's one of those things they didn't need to add but it's awesome that they did. Once this set becomes available on Hasbro Pulse UK I'll definitely buy it.
> It's good to see that Skullgrin has turned out to be a Deluxe instead of the Core mentioned in the leaks, though I do wonder what the original plan was for the "Energon Monster" from the leaks? Or if it was always supposed to be Skullgrin and "Energon Monster" was just a working name? Either way, Skullgrin being a Deluxe rather than a Core has given me renewed hope for a decent Bludgeon at some point in the future.
> Transmetal 2 Megatron isn't exactly how I pictured it in my head, but I'm still satisfied with how it looks. I never had the original Transmetal 2 Megatron when I was a kid in the 90's, and when Botcon did their own version in 2016 I wasn't able to get that either. I actually saw the Botcon Megatron for sale on one of the dealer tables at TFNation once, it was £200 and I was upset that I couldn't afford it, but now I'm glad that I didn't fork over that much cash for a Transmetal 2 Megatron, because this new version is, by my standards, absolutely fine.

And yes, that TM2 Megatron looks perfectly fine so far.

Megatrons a bit disapointing after that super expensive statue shown at SDCC :P

megatrons a maybe, it really will depend how good it is compared to the original figure and it's size.

crankcase is a maybe, g1 skids is way better than legacy skids but I get the feeling legacy crankcase will be way better than g1 crankcase.

pointblank is a definite.

Skullgrin isnt as much fun with out having a bigger figure to pretend pretender (classics skyshadow/TR skyshadow, Baynus bludgeon tank/Baynus deluxe bludgeon) but he will go with tr metalhawk and clasics thunderwingand. Guessing the battlemaster can pretend pretender with him.

Megatron looks pretty terrible in my opinion.

Alpha Trion from 86 Scourge with Pax from 86 Kup is surprisingly good-looking. Point Blank is kinda cool. No opinion on Crankcase but I LOVE Skullgrin. Not sure why, I just really dig the look of him.

Found this pretty good picture of the back of Transmetal 2 Megatron's packaging on Twitter:

https://twitter.com/ShockblastP/status/ ... 56/photo/1

If he turns out like in those renders, he's gonna be awesome. A bit surprised he's called "Transmetal 2" in the packaging itself! And VERY puzzled by the use of the Transformers: Prime Predacon insignia as his faction symbol in said packaging.

IGN has an article up with additional better-quality images of Trion and Orion, showing the alt modes and the full extent of the retooling: https://www.ign.com/articles/new-transf ... c-con-2022

Current thoughts so far:
-Inferno, Crankcase, & Skullgrin are on my purchase list, as is the Trion/Orion set
-Pointblank is a maybe, leaning towards no (his lower legs look terribly thin and hollow in that shot, and I'm not even usually bothered by hollows on figures, guess that budget had to go to the 2-step Targetmaster though)
-Waiting for repaints from Armada Screamer and TM2 Megatron
-Dead End is a no since I'm not doing Menasor

It probably means that "Prime Universe Predaking" as a half-assed repaint with maybe a new head sculpt that doesn't even look like Prime Predaking is on the way soon.

Interesting to see Hasbro dust off a botcon exclusive for sdcc. Talking about that vector sigma. That version of the vector sigma ball and key looks identical to the one that was released at botcon 07 to go with the alpha trion exclusive there. The stand is different though. though I thought unicron.com made that for the show. Could be mistaken.

So he's a fully organic dragon this time. A Transmetal without the metal. :P

No, you're not mistaken. Unicron.com did make the BotCon 2007 accessory. This is a new one made by Hasbro.

Is this really all they are showing at SDCC? No Studio series at all and not even altmodes and accessories for the new ones they did show? They seem to have really dropped the ball again.

Either way here is what I think:

Deluxes all look good with the standout being Skullgrin. I can't wait to pick all 4 up.

Voyagers we have seen before. Getting Starscream, skipping Inferno since it is BW.

Dragon megs looks terrible. Shame they retooled kingdom megs to make him, but does not surprise me at all. Easy pass.

The 2 pack looks great and I will be picking it up.

Really wished they showed The Fallen. Hopefully there is more to come.

This is only Day 1! The weekend events haven't even begun yet. Sheesh.

Apparently they're revealing the alt modes and accessories on August 16th in a livestream. Cause that makes more sense than just showing it all off at once

He looks pretty metallic to me, look at the top of the dragon's neck, or his knees for example. The parts they picked out in purple in general. Either way, the render looks very nice. Can't wait to see the real thing.

Better Images of Legacy Transmetal 2 Megatron May Put Many Worries to Rest

The images we got of the Transformers SDCC Panel weren't great and that's to be expected from pictures of a slide presentation. So, it's best to wait for proper pictures to form an opinion. And we have a better picture for that. Below is a clear image of the back of the box of Legacy Transmetal 2 Megatron which shows the official renders of the robot mode and alt mode. This is our first look at the alt mode along with the extended wingspan. We can also see that he comes with an effect part for the ultimate fire breathing dragon imagery.

Let us know if this looks better for you and if this excited you more than before.

The image comes from Shockblast Prime on Twitter.

Megatron's wings don't look organic, neither do the parts sculpted into his legs and I'm sure the tail will have a lot of mechanical details, too. I really like it, it feels more cohesive than the original and I wont miss the car mode at all since vehicle modes weren't really a TMII feature, I prefer keeping it unique to Optimal Optimus. I can easily see how they'd remake him as Beast Machines Megatron if that's an option, just swap the wings and head. It would be kinda fitting if he was repainted into Prime Predaking considering how the other Prime figures turned out.

Thoughts on the rest:
Alpha Trion & Orion Pax - Best we've had yet, they look perfect despite being retools. And since Pax is a Kup retool we can really amp up the battle damage.

Dead End - Once again loses his feet, but he's still another great looking Stunticon.

Crankcase - Kinda hard to tell from the picture, but I'm sure it's fine. Hope he has proper guns.

Pointblank/Blanker - Not sure what to make of it. He's done right, everything is where it should be, but his crotch is weirdly long and his torso isn't quite right. I'll get him since I need a Pointblank, but not sure how I feel about him, we'll see what the later pics look like.

Skullgrin - Love it, looks really cool. Appears to have the same alt mode as the original figure's inner bot, the guns on his back are the same as the ones hidden in original's hands and the tank treads can be seen on the back of his legs.

Those wings don't look organic one bit, I think he is still as robotic as the first one there just isn't any vac metal finish or vehicle components.

We newsed what you would get days ago to avoid such posts. All SDCC would reveal would be some Legacy and the first look at the Earthspark line.

That's fine, we know Breakdown is coming. I am still curious about the whole "Energon Monster" thing. Was that just a placeholder name for Iguanas and now Skullgrin (one as a core and the other as a deluxe?)

I mean I was hoping the "izer" theme would continue in some new form, but oh well, at least we have Red Cog, and 2 Wrecker Fossilizers coming.

So another Pretender that isn't really a Pretender. Yay ... some day maybe ...

And yay, another Autobot Targetmaster! Just need Sureshot (which I'm sure could easily be re-used for Energon Cliffjumper if they wanted to)

But that Pax/Trion set...definitely want.
