He did in DOTM :P

(Also WFC Prime did carry the Matrix in the second half of the Autobot Campaign just saying.)

Courtesy of a Weibo post once again, we have new images of the packaging for the upcoming Transformers: Tribute 2-Pack of WFC Optimus Prime and Orion Pax from Titans Return Kup! It proudly displays the figures alongside a little bio description for the two. As the image is a bit small, we've typed out the bio below for an easier time reading. Take a look and tell us what you think in the forums!

"Fate rarely calls upon us at a moment of our choosing." The words of OPTIMUS PRIME tell of his own epic journey as the universe's greatest protector. A humble data scientist, ORION PAX accepted the MATRIX OF LEADERSHIP to become the powerful AUTOBOT commander OPTIMUS PRIME.

"Humble data scientist"? So I guess they're going with the Dreamwave War Within backstory rather than TFP's librarian, G1's factory worker or IDW's super-cop? :-?

That was Optronix, though. Orion Pax as a data clerk/archivist/librarian was Aligned.

The two aren't related as side from name, but I don't know what they would retool into Megatronus. I hope they wouldn't reuse the RID mold if they were to hypothetically do this.

In Transformers Prime Megatron's name used to be Megatronus

Not only that, but has a much more tasteful blue accent color! Also doesn't hurt that it is a box set and will probably sell slower. Well, that's assuming it goes the bee vs steeljaw box and not chaos on velocitron.

If they do a Megatron set, maybe it will be like the Optimus One, re-release the WFC megatron and a new pre-war Megatron. My idea would be Miner Megatron

Oooooh they even have the head sculpt. I can definitely see this happening. The mold isn't perfect but I doubt we'd get any remolding on it.

Well Twin-Twist is the only one that turns into any kind of Mining Vehicle

That's why it's not perfect. If it had a singular drill, then it would be perfect.

They probably specifically meant pre-war-Megatron Megatronus for the boxset, not member-of-the-Thirteen Megatronus.

I'm pretty sure that this boxset is going to be around $30-$40 USD, so yes, it would be a bit more cheaper if the set was around that price range. You'll be getting the most for your wallet. :ic$: The Titans Return Kup isn't a bad figure, but I would rather see the Generations Sergeant Kup get retooled as Orion Pax; I think he will just look better. :BOT:

Really? The torso just really couldn't work as any other character without major reengineering.

I would very much like this. He looks pretty =P~ . Plus, any opportunity to get a WfC Megatron (which, next to TR Megs, is probably my hypothetical favorite representation of the character) like I hopefully will Optimus here would be very welcome.

Ya know I get it. It's an exclusive, an Asian exclusive at that but I was expecting 30-40 not $60. Oh well. Cheers to anyone who gets it

I was all for this set. And then I saw $60. Money may be tight but $60 for 2 deluxes... no thank you

Deluxes are already $20 each in some places, add the premiums for exclusivity and importing those things... Yeah. I'm hoping for a domestic release at Toys 'R Us, the "evolution" theme seems to hint at that.

That WFC Optimus was once worth 60$US alone on Ebay a while back. Now, if you want one, it's "only" 30$US on average plus shipping.

So, eh, options.
