I loved the early SW/TFs, back when they were sorta tied to Transformers. Vader was one of the best from the early days, and they should include the lightsaber since as I remember it doubled as a springloaded missile.

Actually that's looking super awesome. I hope other characters get a go and the fact it is available stateside.

Well While I agree Vader was good, I did like the Jedi Starfighter versions the best. I hope they release another Jedi Star Fighter as good as this, I repainted my figure's hands and head Blue rather then the reds, but other then that, I loved this guy.

The Ones I owned were all here in the pic, except Chewbacca..A wookie headed Transformer just seemed weird to me.

To me the Transformers Stormtroopers make a lot of sense, not because of the helmets rather than exposed faces, but because I think modeling giant bipedal robots after your soldiers makes sense. Robo Vader makes some sense as well simply because I feel like he's vain enough to do something like that. If you're the most intimidating guy in the galaxy then why wouldn't you slap your helmet on your giant killer robot?

That makes no bloody sense, unless you found one second hand and didn't care that you had only half of an alt mode. After all, Han and Chewy combined together to form the Falcon.

I need to see if I can find my old Star Wars Transformers. I skipped the Prequel Trilogy ones back in the day, but I had most or all of the Original Trilogy ones. Pretty sure they are in a box in my parents' basement, except for the Darth Vader / Death Star one, which is the only one I still regularly keep on display. He hangs out with the few Masterpiece Decepticons I have.

Don't get me wrong, a Star Destroyer Megatron or an X-Wing Anode would be awesome, but I also really like the idea of this weird alternate universe where the Rebels and the Empire fight each other with giant mech suits. It kind of helps that the first one being made is Vader, since, well, like Kenobi said -- he's more machine than man. His suit's edifice on a giant robot makes sense.
I like it!! Moreso now than the originals. Not sure what I want next though, an X-Wing based one or a Jedi Starfighter version..OR Kylo's TIE Silencer!!

By ways of the Japanese Toys'R'Us website, we have colour images and line name for the new Darth Vader TIE Advanced X-1 figure from Takara Tomy: Star Wars Powered by Transformers! Check out the images below, and let us know what other figures you might like to see in this revamped line, in the Energon Pub!

Y'know, I want to see a Cassian Andor or K-2SO that converts into a U-Wing.

Also, does Vader's chest look... off to anyone else? I can't put my finger on it...

A few things look off to me shape-wise/proportionally. The chest panel, the waist, the calves... and I'm not sure what the deal is with those gold details on his helmet.

Maybe it's just an awkward angle, though. I'll reserve judgement until I see more images.

This looks completely different from the figure we got before. No cape, no shield.

I would love to see a line where TF characters turn into SW vehicles, robot representations of SW characters just don't interest me. You could definitely have some kind of Megatron turn into a tie fighter like this, BB be the naboo ships from ep 1, etc.

Oof. Either that is not an angle we had before or the black and white images helped disguise the chest flap. I was on board for the new figure, but now it's looking like a 'pass' for me.

*EDIT*
I went back and compared this new image to the grey prototype figure and the chest flap was present there but it blended in better in the first shot. I also realized just how much the torso looks like a ball balanced on a tiny waist. We haven't gotten a rear view yet, but it kind of looks like the back could have been used for a better torso. Maybe the designers had instructions to keep the ship front on the chest?

I maintain that the Death Star in this line should really have been Palpatine instead of Vader. Brainstorm: half-constructed Death Star II Palpatine figure. That would actually be kind of cool. I don't think there's ever been a toy representation of the second Death Star has there?

Ok... So apparently one of the biggest "issues" people seem to have with this line is that the vehicles change into characters from the movies. I get it and I understand the argument.

That being said... Would it not be bad ass to have a cross-over? We had GI Joe and transformers so why not Star Wars and Transformers?? :-?

The Decepticons teaming up with the Empire... Autobots with the Rebels/Republic... Unicron/Deathstar hybrid... Seeker Tie Fighters (each character being a different one)... Bumblebee as a Y-Wing. 8-)

Having favorite heroes team up across Galaxies... It could be cool.

Ewwww....No. Just no. (And I like Star Wars FYI)

I alwsys failed to understand how these are considered "crossovers" when theres nothing related to the Transformers franchise other than the fact it transforms. Thats the same argument the anti 3rd party crowd used to use so its kind of ironic. Why not give the vehicles respective Autobot snd Decepticon heads that coincide with their rank?

Examples:

Darth Vader Tie Fighter: Megatron
Regular Tie Fighter: Starscream
Slave-1: Soundwave
X-Wing Fighter: Optimus Prime
Millennium Falcon: Ironhide
Snowspeeder: Bumblebee

Then you would have actual Transformers "crossovers" instead of transformable robots with stupid human heads. Just saying...

If I remember correctly, Lucas/Disney gave strict instructions that there couldn't be any compromises in vehicle mode and they have to transform into SW characters.

I guess the SW universe doesn't lend itself well to "contamination" shall we say?

It's his button panel, it isn't supposed to be in his chest it's supposed to be right above his belt. They really made a mistake trying to cram all of his iconic parts into one little flap that can't even sit flat on his chest. Plus the more accurate light gray makes for an even less accurate Vader.

I honestly can't tell if you're agreeing with me or trying to contradict me. Either way, that figure has a longer than accurate torso leaving a larger gap between the panel and the belt than the actual costume(s) had. It certainly wasn't sitting just under his neck in the middle of whatever that fringe is called.
