At least they picked a good mold with a vehicle mode that sort of looks like a Sweep ship.

That and heard all the clamoring of fans wanting a Scourge to go with Galvatron and Cyclonus.

This.

My Titanium Scourge stands proudly next to my Classic Galvatron and Cyclonus.

As far as this Scourge, I likes. Too bad I'm not goin' to Botcon.

No...I wouldnt look at that and be like, hey is that Scourge? The paint helps but not enough to pull off this repaint...laaame.

(IMO ofcourse :D )

The head's fine, body is meh, colors are too bright. Reminds me of 'lilac' Cyclonus. I much prefer the darker Universe colors. (Aside from that little mismatched thighs thing.) Blue needs darkened. I understand why they didn't use E-Sharkticon (too extensive remold) but I still think it fits better than C-Sideways.

Love the head mold though. Very nice.

Nice head sculpt. Pass for me though. Here's hoping they still pull out a Universe Scourge in the future.

The world has officially ended because for once in a lifetime I was right about him being a cybertron Sideways repaint with a new head. I like him but still won't get him.

From the Botcon website:
"Scourge fears no Autobot or Decepticon. While loyal to the Decepticon cause, there is no one he will not defy if he feels there is a better way to bring destruction upon the Autobots. Alongside Cyclonus, Scourge and his Huntsmen will not be stopped from searching out and destroying any Autobot that may stand in the way of the Decepticon Empire!"

Does this imply Cyclonus will be part of the add on set? First thoughts on Scourge, it looks fantastic.

Doubt it, given that a general release, much acclaimed version of Cyclonus is still on the shelves.

As for me, I don't mind the colour scheme, or the headsculpt or the mold. All I'm upset about is that HE...ISN'T...A...TARGETMASTER!!

I really don't see how.

Sharkticon had fins hanging off of his arms which limited movement.

He had big pointy fish-feet and the alt mode is clearly meant to resemble a shark/submarine. He also has big shark head back kibble.

Sideway's mold allows for the weapons to be attached to his back, replicating Scourge's wings. His alt mode is a flat spaceship. The only real problem is that his chest now sticks out where it did not previously.

Part of my problem is the legs. They don't seem very Scourge-ish, I don't like how pointy the knees are. Plus, he doesn't have the horns Sideways had now, so there's a little gap in his alt mode that kind of bothers me.

I guess like with Kup, this figure had already been done better as another character for me. To me, this mold did Ratbat best, and Redalert did Crankcase best. So I have a little trouble enjoying these as much because I feel they've done someone else better.

I forgot to mention, if you take off the detachable wings, that would definitely make it look more like the original alt mode. Though that would leave visible peg holes on the side.

Sideways has those holes present in his botmode, I'm not sure why they're such a big deal to be seen in alt mode now.

Sharkticon has big ole' pointy knees too:

I hear what you're saying about mold choice in the second part of your post, but that's kind of the nature of BotCon exclusives.

I actually like that thing, looks a loot cooler then any of the other versions that are out of this mold. a shame I won't be owning that any time soon, or ever for that matter.

Meh...

They should either use the Cybertron Thunderblast mode and retool it since Scrouge G1 alt mode look like a boat anyway.....

Or

They could have use the Energon Mirage mold since it was a flying boat of mass destruction

I think I found what Im going to be hunting for at BotCon now; All boat transformers =p

but as far as that goes, I know this may be stretching it, but what if...

Unicron is around like aways, for some reason at that point in time he wants to mess with what's going on. Sends out Scourge (secretly maybe) to tilt the powers in the Cybertronian government, maybe to influence RatBat, who might have been good at some past time in history, or corrupt him more. After Scourge is no longer needed, he leaves, not to be recreated for Unicron's use again until 2005. Ratbat takes on his form since no one else was using it and he liked it so much =P

I haven't seen Transformers Cybertron to comment on Sideways using the same design and I have not read War Within yet, waiting for my copy of the Omnibus from the local comic shop =D

(haven't seen Cybertron because I haven't seen Energon, because Armada doesn't have a complete DVD release yet =( )

Just don't think he looks evil. Reminds me of the senators from Megatron: Origin or the Energon comics.

Is it wrong for me to visualise him on a poster with the caption "Uncle Scourge wants you". Maybe Unicron wants to entice heralds rather than snatch them and reformat them like in the old days.

Still a good figure.

Anyone else think Cybertron Sideways would have made a good War Within version of G2 Skyjack?

I'm not goint to BotCon so I won't be getting him. While I would prefer something closer to te original Scourge, if this was sold as a deluxe in the Classics line, I'd buy him and be mildly satisfied.

No way. There still may be a Universe Scourge, and if not at least Titanium Scourge is a nice stand in. Besides, the main difference between Botcon 07 and 09 is that the Botcon 07 figures were nice, and everyone loved them. These so far, I do not love. Not that I am the authority on such matters, but the o7 set was Nosferatu to the 09s' Blackula.

I would never ever even associate that mold with scourge.
I personally would like to see a new deluxe universe mold for scourge like Galvatron and Cyclonus with a henkei version in bright colours.
What happend to scourge's blood stained talons?
Botcon only ever has bad repaints or retools of molds that don't represent the character. Notice how botcon tend to use unicron
trilodgy molds?

How can you even like that messed up thing. I have noticed that people don't like sourge, they prevefer Galvatron and Cyclonus therefore when Scourge does get a toy representation (tHis is his third (not counting reisues or japeniese toys) it is absolutely awful.
:-x

This Scourge is the equivilent of making Bugbite from Hound.

It really says alot about a mold when it has.....nothing in common with the character it represents.

*goes down list*

Transforms into torpedo shaped flying boat? Nope

Bulky, imposing robot mode? Nope

Wings? Nope

Has common elements with robot mode design? Not at all

Matches color scheme of original? Barely. Light blue, instead of dark blue, and the red accents that I think they used to make it look more animated....Kup has the same kind of crap on him. Don't get me wrong...I love the mold....but nothing about what it says, speaks to who Scourge is. No aspect of its design even slightly resembles him. E. Mirage, C. Starscream, even freaking Cyclonus would be a better choice for a remold than this.
