With 5 1/2 days left, we shall see what happens. Again, I'm not sure if any other Haslab that successfully funded hasn't achieved all it's stretch goals, but we shall see. I dont believe this myself, but I'm already seeing the conspiracy theorists online saying that Hasbro might lowball the actual orders so they don't have to make the stand or shield/micromasters.

No it was a bump mid-morning. It was at 13,200 (or just a bit over) when I checked this morning.

Also it's worth noting that Takara's still taking orders. They close orders earlier on the same day Hasbro does, so we'll see a surge there regardless. If my understanding is correct, this was just Hasbro Taiwan's numbers that have been added because they closed their orders today

I could have sworn it was over 13,300 before I fell asleep night. But for the sake of argument, lets split the difference, say it was 13,250. After the bump it was 14,500 (thus a difference of 1,250) *a little over 1000* I would say is an accurate assessment yes?

A Titan Majin Zarak would be total wish fulfilment for me. I don't know how many times I've posted t in the "Toys you would like to see but Hasbro/TT will never make" thread.

But yeah, a toy like that would probably cost somewhere in the $400 range I'm guessing, and probably require at least 15,000 backers, which is the issue, I don't think that many people in the world would back it, though I'd back it day one for sure.

I couldn't remember the exact number, my point was the bump was mid-morning, not overnight (otherwise I would have posted excitedly about it first thing, even before checking my work emails).

That all depends on where you live. I am on the west coast, so when I got up this morning at 6AM my time, it had already occurred. thus the "middle of the night" (even if it was 5:30am my time) would not be inaccurate.

I did a little digging, and it seems like it happened right around 6am PDT (9am EDT), so yeah just as I was waking up, but hadn't turned on my computer for work yet. So yeah, night for me, morning for others, and all different times for different folks around the world. I will try to remember to set my alarm 10 minutes earlier for the next couple of days just to see if the pattern is consistent.

Since it's alt mode was an aircraft carrier they could do *another* retool of Metroplex. Half the work is done. Maybe that could help drop the price down to $250-$300. It might just be crazy enough to work and since it's a Titan I think it could totally work because:

Perfect, a new Metroplex to double as a new Majin Zarak. I'm just going to start the rumor and hopefully it gets so much traction HasTak will have no choice but to produce... At a reasonable price... And with plenty of produc- oh this is my fantasy. I don't need you reality intruding on my delusions.

My advice is to back it. If you like it when it finally comes, great! If you don't, you can unload it on eBay and make back what you spent (and more if you're willing to jack the price up). Nobody loses here.

Many of you backing the Haslab Victory Saber (me included) are hoping it at least reaches the 14 000 mark to get the V cannon which is rather crucial to the combo. It was a pretty big component of the original Victory Leo toy's alt modes and makes for a nice big weapon for the Victory Saber mode. Well, the we now have over 14 000 backers. As before, it is unlcear exactly which retailer's numbers were added (since only orders done through Hasbro Pulse itself are live and the ones from other retailers are added in batches).

We also have a quick video for you form Yuki San, the designer of both MP Star Saber and this Victory Saber. He does claim that Star Saber is leader class sized and Victory Leo is voyager class sized. He also gives a quick history of the character's design.

I've said that while collectors may feel a toyline is more for them than kids, hasbro still treats its toylines as toylines for kids through their advertisements, negotiated shelf space in retail stores, and communications. I just find it so odd that they still do that with this Star Saber project. Like this post on their Facebook page:

Let’s Say Go!!! We have reached 14,000 backers and the V-Lock Cannon and Blast Effects are now included with your #HasLab Victory Saber. Onward to 17,000 backers to unlock the Victory Autobot Display Stand!
Parents, pre-order and back the #Transformers Victory Saber HasLab project for $179.99. This crowdfund project will run until October 10th, 2021.

They also did that with the Golden Disk reveals where they'd tell parents to go preorder a toy at a particular adress. And I just wonder, what's with this damn charade? Are they really thinking a parent sees these online only toys of niche characters and s hoping they order it? Why not just talk like you are talking to fans, who are undeniably the main target audience for this product?!

Its probably a legality requirement, a lot of kids would see this online through sites like ours...

I'd say it could be something even simpler like a standard paragraph/form letter where they only have to plug in the specific product details.

They might be thinking that, sure. They are toys after all. And most parents probably don't care (or even know) how niche the character is. If they think their kid will like it, they will buy it.

That's certainly how my parents operated, at least. Apart from Optimus Prime, they didn't know the characters, so they just bought me whatever figures they saw. And, frankly, I didn't care either. I got Transformers, and I was happy.

Those don't count, being Japan exclusives. But if you compare the base prices of SS and WFC toys, they are more expensive in Japan...

....wait....

I may be talking out of my ass here. Japan display their prices WITH the sale tax included. That's why they seems more expensive. Furthermore, the base prices get cheaper when you checkout at Amazon.jp. The sales tax is removed.

So does that mean Mandarake is screwing foreign orders over? :-?

I'm just thinking, if it was a Bumblebee or an Optimus Prime under $50, I could understand marketing to the parents. The fact that it's around $200 (after taxes) of an unrecognizable character (to a parent that would be "shoppinging off the ads" to find a gift for their child), it just really doesn't make sense. I would be very interested to know how many parents with no affinity for Transformers backed this because they were looking for a gift for their kid that likes Transformers. I need stats Hasbro
