Nope, I meant $39...

Copied from my Anime Export email receipt:
Transformers Masterpiece MP-21 Bumblebee ¥4,200 JPY

Current exchange rate = $38.83

Order from BBTS and it will cost $83 shipped. Two of these shipped with express shipping will probably come out to about $95 (shipping isn't calculated till it's in stock and they can give you an accurate quote). So for roughly $10-15 more than what the US shop loyalists pay for one, I'll get two of them. If I were more patient and used slow shipping, it would probably only be $5-7 more.

You got it with a pre-order discount. Those discounts aren't available anymore. At this point, anyone who wants this figure will have to pay at least $60.

I'm paying $75 through BBTS. Is that too much for this figure? Probably, but once in a while it's OK to overpay if you really really want something. In the long run, that extra $25 or whatever is nothing.

Ha! That's what I tell myself when I buy a mold I already have or a different version of the character from the same line.

Thanks for posting those pics Cyberpath. Love this Bee. Always had a soft spot for Bumblebee. This may turn out to be my favorite masterpiece.

He is so awesomely kibble free.
I love Classics Bee, but even he has a little kibble.
This last batch of photos sealed it for me.

I know everyone is complaining about price, me too. That's what we do in America.
Here's some wishful thinking. A new lower price point and a whole series of of MP minis without an added "exo suit" type thingy to bring it up to PP.
I'm just sayin'.

Oh this is looking great.

Now I can get this as my Bumblebee and Classics Cliffjumper with the (truly ancient) FP addon as my CJ.

You're gonna paint an $80 dollar toy? Cool.
I'm sure if you wait we'll get CJ.

Wait! If Spike makes up half the Price point, then maybe there will be a BB/CJ 2-pack for the same price. Of course I can't wait three years for that to happen.

What? No, I'm not painting Bumblebee. I'm going to get MP Bumblebee, and display him alongside the Classics Cliffjumper with the FP Addon. I wouldn't try painting a Masterpiece!

Think MP Bumblebee is in perfect scale and Aesthetics with MP Sideswipe, MP Wheeljack and MP Prowl. According to the original cartoon and toys comparisons sizes.

Would not consider This MP Bumblebee to be in CHUG toy size. As it is too big for the CHUG toy line. It also does not match the Neo-G-1 Alternate universe Aesthetics that CHUG aims for most of the time.

Doing a Deluxe toy for Classics Bumblebee always seemed wrong to me. Would have preferred a Basic or Legends toy instead. I'm aware they did a legends toy, which I think fitted in better.

While I didn't buy it, I can excuse Classics 1.0 Bumblebee for being a deluxe toy. Based off the CHUG toy line being in a alternate universe of G-1 and not being in the G-1 universe.

The HasTak Masterpiece TF character toys are in the G-1 universe and not a alternate universe. So having MP Bumblebee being bigger than Four to Five inches in robot mode would be wrong compared to other MP TF's in this toy line.

No, but it's about the right size to be in vehicle scale with deluxe cars, and as someone who happily puts Animated, Movieverse and UT toys side-by-side the style doesn't bother me.

Aye. It's also the most wonderful acronym ever.

CHUG...It just rolls off the tongue.

Universe, and "CHUG" is also a derogatory term towards a certain population, so be careful when using it. We really need a new acronym with these lines:

Classics
Universe
Generations

Henkei
United
Legends

CUGHUL maybe?

B-B-But CHUG sounds so wonderful! Political correctness be damned- this isn't Tumblr. Or do we need to rename Slag and Slapper too?

Slug and Wartoad. The latter was actually a preliminary name for that Predacon frog. The Ankylosaurus was to be called Slugfest at first

Back to ol' Bumble, to me he wouldn't work in a Classics-style display despite his size. Too much of a recreation of the original character model, while Classics and its successors were all about updating. :)

I won't even ask.
I'll stick to Classics as an all encompassing title.
I just figured out what PRID and IMO stand for today.

I'm still craving some ICCM though.
