Because Ferrari wouldn't give them the license, so they had to genericfy it to avoid trouble.

Not quite. Ferrari is a bit fickle with its licensing with exclusivity, meaning only one company can have it at any given time. At first it was Mattel with its Hot Wheels line, but in 2014 they lost it to The May Cheong Group with its Maisto brand... which may work in our favor, because in Japan they go through Tomy with its Tomica line.

While they didn’t go with the Ferrari, the alt. Mode looks pretty similar (though not identical) to Dino’s alt. mode from the DOTM game. Can’t take credit for noticing this though, Hisbrawler pointed this out on TFW yesterday.

(This screenshot is from the multiplayer customization screen, thus why Dino is green instead of red)

yeah, that is a bit crazy, I was all ready to purchase a couple to display both modes, but I can't see spending that much on one let alone two.

not bad timing considering Ghostbusters Afterlife is not scheduled for release after all the movie theaters go under due to lockdowns.

Screw it, with the Target coupon and Red Card 5% it was only $46 and change with is only a couple of dollars more than the original on Pulse. I kept my order on Pulse because quite frankly it could very well get delayed and if it arrives before the Target one arrives then I'll leave it in the packaging until I get my Target order or, more than likely, Target cancels my pre-order.

I was super happy with the reveals.

Bee is a meh, because Cliffjumper was pretty bad, but I still pre-ordered him.

Dino, FINALLY!!!!!! He looks pretty good! Not perfect, but he looks pretty dang good, and the "at last" factor is huge.

Ectotron is a surprise. i was expecting Ghost Starscream, but I am OK with this. I like the new head, the paint job isn't bad, and the new ghost looks cool. Price is steep, but I did use some Target coupons to get him for $45 shipped, so that works.

Another Chance to Own the Highly Coveted Netflix Bumblebee Toy

While we have seen many complaints of there being too many Bumblebees on the shelves, one of the most coveted toys from Hasbro for the past year(s) is a Bumblebee toy. The deluxe toy from the second wave of the Netflix line, available only at Walmart, and it was the only release of this specific mold with the Volkswagen alt mode. Well, Canadian retailer Toysnowman, who ships to the US, was able to get a shipment of these (along with the other Netflix deluxes). It is available right now with a limit of 1 per order for 39.99 CAD (31$ USD), which is about half what it goes for e-bay at times. Do be wary of international shipping though if you are outside Canada.

Next Transformers Fans First Friday on February 4th

Here is what Hasbro posted on their Facebook page today:

RISE UP! And catch the Transformers team this Friday, February 4th, at 11:00am ET for their first FanFirstFriday stream of 2022 on the Hasbro Pulse YouTube channel. It's going to be full of franchise news, product reveals, and pre-order news. The Decepticons sure know how to lure ya in, so don't miss it!

While many fans were wondering if this would be our first look at the upcoming Rise of the Beasts toys, please remember that Hasbro has never had Cyberverse toys as part of their presentations, which is our closest comparison for a toy line. Also, the Bumblebee Movie toyline was revealed with as little fanfare as possible. Just things to keep in mind.

Maybe more Decepticons for the Legacy line?

Or maybe it will finally reveal something planned for the Armada tenth anniversary! :michaelbay:

I am looking forward to see a new selects figure. Then for them ramble for 40 mins about the 86 movie again because they won't let it die. Lastly to end with a recap of the shattered glass line.

Surely you mean.... 20th!!!! anniversary. We got a single nod to R.I.D for its 20th, and we know we are getting an Armada Starscream in Voyager size class.

The only other thing that would make sense for the 20th, would be Prime, and we know we ain't getting that. Maybe another repaint of Siege Megs in Armada colors.

Thanks. I'm probably only interested in Tarantulas, but it'll be interesting to see how all these turn out (if this is what's getting revealed).

I know some commentary was made regarding the last couple of TF FFF about how Hasbro has been transitioning towards more of an Entertainment company as opposed to just a toy company, and those comments are fair points. However there is new leadership now, and most of the non-toy items (mobile games, other miscellaneous items) have fallen flat. So hopefully this FFF will get back to basics and just focus on toys.

Also hopefully , they wont spend a lot of time retreading old news. We know Legacy Wave 1 and the first SS wave for 2022 are imminent, as well as that overly priced remote control Optimus Prime. No need to rehash old news.

We know Diaclone Bluestreak, BW Buzzsaw, BW Nightprowler, and BW Sandstorm already have leaked reviews. So as to whether these are Selects, or retailer exclusives, I imagine we will find out. Hopefully wave 2 of Legacy, and the next wave of SS overall will get reveals as well. That's probably too much to hope for, but considering, once upon a time, Toy Fair would show us 6 months (or roughly 2 waves) worth of product at least, I know it can be done.

I'd be interested in seeing Commander class Motormaster, and a hint at how big/sturdy the upcoming Mensasor combiner might be. I think most collectors agree that CW Menasor was a floppy disappointment.

You're right,my bad.The hype is too big!

I wouldn't mind some of the Decepticons getting some love too, like Cyclonus or Demolisher.

I agree with just about all your points, and you share my hopes for this FFF. But knowing the entire last year’s worth of FFF’s, this one will likely rehash every single thing you just mentioned in hopes to pan out the time.

I know I've said this before, but...Me Grimlock want to see Sludge.

Honestly, with all the talk of price increases (even the PotP increase stings for me, and that was years ago!) I've convinced myself that if it's not a Dinobot, I ain't getting it.

There are several people like that. Some are still going for the whole line. But some are widdling their lists down, and specific characters to check off are becoming fewer and far between. One SS Leader Dinobot per year definitely takes patience. But it took 2 years to complete RotF Devastator, and I'm all in on MPG Raiden, so yeah, it's going to be a long haul for many of us.

Late 2020 SS86 Grimlock
Late 2021 SS86 Slag
*Assuming Late 2022 SS86 Sludge

*if"Hasbro makes Swoop a large Voyager we could conceivably get the last two Dinobots in 2023... only time will tell. By then Voyagers will probably cost almost $40 USD...the same as what a Leader cost during CW/TR...

What makes you say that we aren't getting a Prime? I vividly remember this bad boy previewed next to Star Convoy. They've obviously been waiting for the 20 year anniversary. Why else would they sit on it for THREE WHOLE YEARS!

There is surely still hope for this figure coming out, right guys? You're not telling me to give up on this seeing the light of day are you?
