Now that Pulse doesn't offer free shipping anymore I wonder what would cost less, paying the shipping on 5 figures or getting a membership knowing I wont likely be buying anything else on there this year? :-?

Stock Images of Transformers Shattered Glass Blaster and Rewind

We thank fellow Seibertronians Sol Magnus and Nemesis Primal for sending us these images of the upcoming Shattered Glass Blaster and Rewind. For those unaware, this is not a way to get a G1 Rewind since Shattered Glass Rewind is red, as you can see in the photos (homaging an evil cassette bot). While the photo is very dark, Blaster here seems to have the same stoic expression and not the smirk seen on the alternate Blaster head. That variant head was posted a few days ago on reddit and you can see it below for reference. It could still be used for the upcoming Twincast.

Unfortunately, while the packaging images very much seem to be legit, that out-of-box shot is definitely a digital recoloring of Kingdom/Legacy Blaster.

Looks the same to me as well, nothing about that looks photoshopped even when running it through a photo editor.

When it comes to Shattered Glass there's very few characters I'd actually be interested in getting. Mainly Seekers, TBH. To add to the army.

But it's cool this is a thing that's happening.

Still hope they do Solarbot, it would be weird if they keep doing these clear tapes and not him.

Which original stock photo of Blaster did they use for the photoshop job?

That is certainly not a stock image

Ejects thighs should be the same color as his arms. They’re on the same mold sheet. It also looks like whoever made that missed a spot on the left hand

That, plus as someone else pointed out the triangles on his hips in the packaged shot are black while in the "out of box" shot they're the same grey as the trapezoids they're sculpted on (on Blaster they were the same red as the trapezoids); in addition, the rectangles/trapezoids on his hips themselves in the actual boxed image are of a darker grey than the grey used on the body, while in the """out of box""" shot, they're both the same grey (just like how on Blaster both the rectangles/trapezoids on his hips and his upper body were the same shade of red). Add to that that it has that unmistakable look of having been color-edited (the shadowed areas on a given bit of the figure having incorrect shading/contrast for what you'd expect of that plastic color compared to other plastic colors on it), and I think we can be confident the ostensible "out of box" image is actually just a digibash someone did of Kingdom/Legacy Blaster mocking up what SG Blaster would look like.

As long as Hasbro wants to sell a repaint for $10-12 more than the basic version and people are willing to buy them then I don't see it going away.

At least part of that price was for the pack-in comic, and I don't think there's been any confirmation that there will be a comic for the new wave. They won't come out while IDW still has the license, at least. Without the comic, I'm not expecting a price bump of as much as the first wave.

Comic books are done months in advance for regular stuff. This is something coordinated even further in advance than that. I would expect comics.

What was the source of the out of box photo to begin with? Was it not the same as the place the stock boxed photos came from?

Randomhero wrote:That is certainly not a stock image

Why would somebody photoshopping it not just turn all of the gray parts black since that's how the original figure did it? Strange to do such a tedious job and then only do the thighs black. Thighs could just be painted. The spot on the left hand is the bottom of Blaster's leg.

Jeddostotle7 wrote:That, plus as someone else pointed out the triangles on his hips in the packaged shot are black while in the "out of box" shot they're the same grey as the trapezoids they're sculpted on (on Blaster they were the same red as the trapezoids);

Stock photos often have slight difference from final figures, this doesn't mean anything.

They're the same color in the box, they're just catching different light since his crotch is sticking out further.

Just looks like there's a very bright light over the top of it messing up the shadows.

Sure, it could be a photoshop, but if it is one it's a pretty great one and they have me fooled because I'm not seeing any of the usual telltale signs that can't be explained away. It's not like when Fun Pub would digibash their exclusives. The only thing that doesn't look quite right is Rewind's shoulder pads, but again that could just be wonky lighting.

It is a photoshop. It was debunked on tfw2005 and they’re laughing that seibertron has ONCE AGAIN posted a digibash thinking it’s a legit figure.

Seriously how many times are you guys gonna do this before you stop? This site has done it 3-4 times now in the past 12 months. It’s either digibashes or fan kitbashes that confuse people in thinking it’s a leak.

As for the part I’m referring to im talking about this:

Most of the times we've posted photoshops in the news we've clearly stated them as such when all we have to go by is a store listing with no image. It's not our fault that some people can't be bothered to read articles and just look at the pictures and then get would up for being "tricked". If you're going to call us out then please list all of the times that we were fooled here since you're keeping track, I'd like to see just how often it happens.

Most people have a weird way to process colors in their brain and can easily be confused with optical illusions. For some, their brain is being more easily tricked.

Remember this yellow/bue dress fiasco that took the internet by storm some years back?

No you guys state it after someone points it out and then put an “update” in the article. It’s happened repeatedly and even after that people still don’t notice the said “update” and think it’s legitimate

And I’m not talking about the hand as a whole I’m talking about the very tip of the hand that’s been missed by the person that did that job. Also the entire back piece of eject was photoshopped out. He’s got grey plastic around his waist and yet in the picture you can see blasters legs behind him when you shouldn’t

You can call it “lighting and shadows” to justify it all you want but the fact is this is a fan digibash that’s already been debunked by other sites and there’s clear evidence this isn’t official

I stopped thinking it was real several posts ago, it's the "I can't believe you fell for it again, what a bunch of losers Seibertron is, they do this all the time!" mentality that I'm calling BS on. At first glance it looks exactly like what's in the box and when it comes to reporting news that's the stuff that gets reported to stay competitive. It isn't until people starting going over every pixel that the truth comes out. A little gray on the sides? It took two days for anyone to point that out here, you didn't even notice it or you would have put it on your list! A bit of gray at the end of a fist? The fist was originally blue and now it's red, the photoshopper didn't miss it, they thought it worked for the image, it just looks like a reflection. Black triangles? Stock photos don't always share the same details as final figures taken from the factory.

Is it really that big of a stretch to think someone has it in hands shortly after boxed images start to show up? We see this sort of thing almost every month from YouTubers revealing stuff ahead of Hasbro or Asian markets selling things before Target stocks their own exclusive. It's better to post things as soon as we can and redact it later. When a photoshop is this well done and this well timed it's bound to slip through.

No you guys state it after someone points it out and then put an “update” in the article. It’s happened repeatedly and even after that people still don’t notice the said “update” and think it’s legitimate

First it was 3 to 4 times in the past year and now it's repeatedly? You make it sound like it happens so often yet I'd like to see you give another example. And we can't be held responsible for other peoples' reading habits. If we make a mistake then all we can do is fix it, we can't make people read the updates when I'm well aware that a lot of people only come here for the headlines and pictures. What would you have us do, email every member and say we made a mistake? And then what should we do for the ones that ignore the emails, call them? Knock on their doors? Let's be realistic here, mistakes happen. I'm still going to stand by what I said about this being a special rare case, it doesn't really happen as often as you say it does. I don't like the idea that people think we're deceiving them because we're not. We do this for fun, this isn't our job (we all have real, tiring jobs), we don't get paid for this, there are no incentives. We aren't machines, we're humans and mistakes are going to happen.

If you only use it for SG figures, it's not worth it. But if you would use it as a sure source to get exclusives with Pulse providing limited stock, go for it.

At least for me, Pulse has been worth the premium cost. I will ultimately be renewing mine

Especially when their "corrections" happen in tiny characters on page 16 after spreading fake news for weeks or months.

At least about the toy news, the article get edited as soon as possible. Still, I'd suggest to add some edits notes at the bottom of the article when they happen.

I checked, didn't find anyone laughing. Anyone who brought it up has been respectable in simply acknowledging what's happening and moving on. The peopple who they are laughing at right now happen to be their own fellow boardies for being paranoid that Motormaster does not have a robot mode since there is no robot mode on the box.
