Literally everyone whose been clamoring for Slingshot and Wildrider, and have known that they'd be exclusives from the word go, has officially given up the right to bitch about the prices. I.E You wanted this, now you've got it.

So, I got Drag Strip.

He's a great figure with a fun transformation, not unlike Alpho Brava's (Who I got last week).
His weapon is cool, and his hand/foot has some nice wrist-weapon molding. (Reminds me of a railgun.)

His alt-mode looks nice, though it obviously doesn't scale with a helicopter.

I have only two complaints, both probably down to QC.

His combiner joint is REALLY HARD TO GET OUT. I need to use clippers to get it out.

Second is the paint. His small forehead crest is sort of blotchy, and a bit of his face;s paint (near the visor) is missing. His dark-magenta paint doesn't match up with the magenta plastic (though it isn't really THAT noticeable), and it too is a bit blotchy at times. Last but not least, his cockpit's black paint is a teensy bit sloppy as well.

All in all, I give him an 8.5/10, as compared to Alpha Bravo's 9/10.

I wouldnt blame the scalpers. It doesnt matter either way. These are exclusive AND limited items (Hasbro is not making as much of these as the other limbs). And there was a great demand amongst fans. Takara's TF Adventure Nemesis Prime sold out in a day and he didnt have as much demand so why wouldnt this set sell out as fast? Any fan who wanted these bought them as soon as they were available. It's fine to not like the price and hesitate but this is what happens. I wouldnt blame anybody for it (except myself for hesitating).

That said, I am sure other online retailers will have these too. But take note of this and don't hesitate next time unless you are ok with not owning it. There is no way these will ever go on clearance.

It's not prices I'm annoyed by so much as the disappearing act. There isn't even a "sold out", the listings themselves seem to be gone.

The again, I'm not exactly one of the clamorers, I just want them because they go with the rest of the Combiner Wars "Scramble Nation" (I'm trying to make "Scramble Nation" a thing) figures.

Some of us didn't hesitate. Some of us just missed the window.

Fair enough, I missed out on TF Adventure Swoop as well. But I didnt blame any scalpers for an exclusive item selling out (Japan exclusive in this case). That's all I wanted to say.

Since then I learnt my lesson and kept up to date every day on the availability of figures either by keeping a close watch on online retailers or this news site (which becoming a staff member helped quite a bit). And I would recomend everyone who missed out on these to do the same like that they dont miss it when these figures are available at another online retailer. Seibertron will let you guys know the next time they are available so please keep a close eye on us.

Yeah, since this listing came and went, I have bought some insurance by getting the Takara United sets on BBTS. I figure if the preorder for just Slingshot and Wildrider ever happens, I will cancel my preorder for the Takara United sets.

I don't either, or at least no more than normal. This is the same thing that keeps happening all the time with any new figure that people are the least bit excited for. It's available somewhere, word goes out, the fandom descends like locusts, and tough luck to those who blinked. Generations Arcee comes to mind, and I'm pretty sure Generations Rattrap was like that at first too.

Has there ever been any clarification on just who will be able to sell these? I checked with my local comic shop and they looked into it and said they didn't find them available for order from their distributors. I was hoping to support them since they have started carrying the Combiner Wars line now, but am afraid to wait and see if these things are going to keep selling out in a matter of hours. Its difficult enough anymore finding Hasbro's regular retail releases at non-scalper prices (6" Black Series Vader still amazes me, only Vader I have ever not even seen at retail), no way I want to have to track these down on the secondary market.

Aye, he was released earlier this year. After missing out on pre-orders on BBTS I ordered one from a seller on Amazon and got scammed, they sent one of those cheap non-posing brick figures. Fortunately, Amazon refunded me my money, but by that point they were sold out at BBTS and Amazon. That Vader looks awesome too.

Wohoah! With a removable helmet to boot, pretty nice! Sorry to derail the thread guys. Once again, to all those who didnt get a chance to order the two extra limbs, we will let you know as soon as another preorder is available (as we did with Arcee), so stay tuned.

The following figures, needed to complete your Menasor, are also ship and sold from Amazon.com:

Blackjack 10.99

Everyone of these figures is Prime eligible. Keep your optics tuned to Seibertron.com for the latest in news and updates!

I finally got my Wave 2 limbs from HTS. Boy they're really nice! Menasor has some pretty chunky legs but looks real tough. I'll wait until Blackjack hits the store before I get it though, as my GDO Deadrider figure is making an excellent chest plate for Menasor.

I thought that Breakdown was a little challenging to transform without the instructions. I didn't realize that the shoulders flipped downwards along the figure's sides to unlock the piece the head is attached to. Pretty clever engineering there.

They have already upped the prices of the Wave 2 deluxes to 18.99. Seriously Amazon, you did the same thing with CW Megatron two days ago. I know they have to make a profit but still... Ah well, I found CW Megatron yesterday, so logic would dictate that I have a good chance of seeing the limbs soon as well.

PS My bad, I overreacted when I thought the page said they used to be 15.99, it was actually just Drag Strip, please ignore previous hasty post.

Um, what?
Are you kidding me?

Hasbro decides the basic retail price, unless I'm mistaken.
But it's the retailers, physical and online, that can increase or decrease it.

So, in short, hush.

It occurs to me that I phrased my complaint about Captured Prey yesterday poorly. Figures sell out. This is natural.

When they do, however, the reasonable thing is for their listing to say they're sold out. What is probably not such a great idea is to remove the listings entirely but leave the big picture on the front page saying they're available for preorder that leads to the Combiner Wars category they are no longer listed in.

I spent more time than I'd care to admit thinking I just wasn't looking hard enough before locating the search thingy and discovering that they were just no longer listed.

Amazon will drop the prices down to retail. They always do. I suggest using a plug-in called camel tracker to monitor the prices. It'll send you an update when they drop.

Breakdown would be my favorite Stunticon but the hips are just too wonky and I don't like the amount of force I have to use to peg them into the arms.

Has anyone figured out a way to get Blackjack to stay on Menasor's chest better. He doesn't attach securely at all. I thought about widening the holes on the bottom of the car.

People have been wondering what Rook would serve as and I am pretty much set on him being the mold Hasbro will use for Brawl. Sure, the original Brawl was a Tank but if they insist on scale, an APC vehicle might be more appropriate than a tank (still waiting to see if there will be a space shuttle though  ).

Also, the more recent Brawl figures weren't tanks either:

My theory/hope is this:

Onslaught=Hot Spot, redeco/retool (new head, guns instead of ladder)
Vortex=Alpha Bravo, new head

Brawl to be a new mold tank, not because I'm all "geewun" but becuase I think an update to that to with today's engineering as a deluxe would be awesome. If he's a retool/redeco of Rook, that's fine too.

Swindle could pull off a new tooling of Offroad/First Aid, you think? How hard could it be to make a humvee out of that?

Blast-Off will be a new Legends Class fig, turning into a spaceship (not necessarily a shuttle) and forming Bruticus' Chest plate.

He would then need to be replaced with a more scaled military fighter jet, so maybe a newcomer from the Skydive mold?
