Are you forgetting that it's the WHOLE POINT of this line?

Also, you must have some amazing psychic power to know those will be "shelfwarmers".

Maybe you're lost, this is the thread for the kids' movie toyline. You might be looking for the Studio Series thread for toys that are not only intended for 6 yo's.

Wow, there's so much, where I do start?

All of the battle master beasties look great, hands down. I'm glad they're even reimagining main characters from the film in these forms, it'll be fun to pair them with "themselves" and other Kingdom figures.

I wasn't a fan of the "armor-formers" that we received in Cyberverse, but I think these figures take the concept to its full realization. The significance of the combo of Primal and a green alligator isn't lost on many of us, I'm sure.

Also glad we're seeing some of Rhinox's bot mode. His head on the figures here makes me think he might look the closest to his og Beast Wars self in the movie (unless this is a stylization like we saw with Cheetor's toy versus his Studio Series figure).

One final note is that Arcee. I love her! Her design doesn't look too heavy or busy while still forming a cool motorcycle. Glad we'll never be short of good Arcee figs ever again.

Say what you want about modern iterations taking classic characters and changing them around, but I'm so glad little chaingun Rhinox is still based on a Rhinoserarse. Image

So then may I allude to the fact that his gun mode resembles a set of male organs?

Otherwise, these are obviously for a younger audience, which is the main purpose of a toyline.

I'll be sticking with SS86, but I'm glad others have an abundant selection.

My first thought was that it was a deepcut reference to the episode where the Preds give Rhinox a virus.

Official Description wrote:The figure converts between 3 modes: robot, vehicle, and beast; and can go from robot to licensed off-road Camaro in 19 steps before squeezing the figure's legs together to reveal the new eagle beast mode.

Like I said, a new low bar for triple changers. Shockingly expensive too...

Same here, and it comes less than a year after a new Inferno toy who now uses his former ass-quad-thrusters as his primary gun. I smell a grudge-match 26 years in the making!

Bumblebee's "beast mode" looks like a phenix is bursting through him from behind, like a bird shaped xenomorph.

Definitely want all of the Battlemasters the Primal with the green croc.

I'm just here for adults complaining about toys for literal children.

Anyway these all look like great fun for their target audience. Might grab those battle masters. I'm not jazzed about the $50 bumblebee though, that doesn't look like you get your money's worth. I get it has electronics but eh. Make it look a little better at least.

I'm at this board because those other boards are so full of nonsensical whining. "Why is this kids' toy oversized with electronics?!" The world would be a nicer place if people understood that sometimes things are made for other people.

Rhinox is pretty cool here, at least the look of the alt mode and robot mode. I am super surprised that he seems so faithful to his original design and from the little bit we saw in the film, it looks like he will indeed look that faithful.

As for the armor formers, while the deluxe class ones in Cyberverse were not great, the more core class ones were very good for what they were. Like Ratchet and Skybyte. Those were very well realized. These are taking it a whole other level though.

If anyone is curious about a kid's POV on these, my 5 year old is really excited by them. While those beast combiners did impress him, he really likes that blue wolf that comes with optimus. He likes how the face is very organic and he likes that Optimus ca get a beast buddy. That's the one he wants most. He likes the Arcee but is puzzled as to what kind of animal she comes with, it's not as clear to him.

And he wants that offroad Bumblebee (the simplified deluxe one).

So his wish list is the 3 beast combiners, Bumblebee and the wolf/optimus combo. We'll se eif he still wants them by the time they come out and when it's his birthday.

My personal favourite are all the Rhinoxes and that little croc gun, it's such a cute croc mode.

Dr. Caelus wrote:

I'm shocked your shocked since every kids line has a big simplified electronic toy with lights and sounds at that price point. It's just standard fare.
The triple changer bit is misleading on their part though, I'd expect a full transformation into a bird mode but it's not the case here.

King Kuuga wrote:I'm just here for adults complaining about toys for literal children.

Luckily, there's very little of that here. But don't check our Facebook page.

Like I said before, it's less of a "Beast Mode" and more of a beast-inspired "Super Mode".

The use of the name "Beast Mode" may just be a marketing thing since that name might be used in the movie as a transformation code.

And as for the whiners, while most of us may be in a double-digit age physically, who here isn't still 6 years old at heart? ;)

well at least thats one toy I'm buying from the line, liking the notskullcruncher/megatron battlemaster and I like the idea of the combing one with Primal but sadly the toy looks pretty bad when combined.

That poor kid is seriously going to regret getting paid to wear that mask, so many scars

Hasbro says it has three modes. It's a triplechanger. A hilariously, badly realized triple-changer.

As far as being "shocked" it's the price tag that surprises me. For $50 I expect better, and I'm saying that as a parent.

Yes, hasbro is being misleading with that description, 100%.

I'm a parent too, but I'm not shocked at all since we just got this same type of stuff in Cyberverse and the Bumblebee movie line before it, and the RID line before that one, all at the same price, do you remember those? I ignored those then and I will ignore this one now too. I do think it's far too much money, and I don't think it looks great or worthwhile for that price, but the same goes for all the other ones, so there's nothing new or shocking here.

There's something I caught here:

Hasbro is launching the new Transformers: Rise of the Beasts Beast Alliance Battle Changers assortment featuring 4.5” Battle Changer figures that convert from robot to alt mode and back. The new kids toys are cross compatible with other Beast Alliance figures, including Beast Alliance beast weapon and beast armor toys

How exactly are those 4.5 battle changers cross compatible with the armor ones? It doesnt look like the armor can go over that battle changer Bumblebee, for instance.

blackeyedprime wrote:liking the notskullcruncher/megatron battlemaster

You're not a fan of them using the Skullcruncher name for him? I thought it was pretty significant since it gives this toyline a decepticon of sorts.

Yeah KIDS, not toddlers. These all belong in the fisher price aisle. I'd have more trouble transforming an animated figure than these. Mainline used to be good, now it's an excuse for them to try less. Mainline should be 8-12. All they're doing is making kids dumber.

These look fantastic and way more fun than anything we've gotten lately. Something is going on with that regular Rhinox, its chaingun has a hinge on it that I don't see being used. I think it's meant to fold up more in beast mode.

Nobody said you had to get them. Do you have financial stake in Hasbro?

Or are you angry because you think these figures take away spots on the shelf and resources to make other pieces for more grown up fans?

We have plenty of selection regardless of which line you look at. We're gonna get these simpletons, the kids have to get hooked somehow. What better way than when they're toddles, as you said?

I do agree that kids are dumber, but having simpler toys has very little to do with it. It's the result, not the cause. The cause is the decline of the education system from bottom to top, in the US at least.

Mainline includes figures for all ages, not just 8-12. Its Mainline, as in the main line for the entire movie.

Mainline is getting figures like this Airrazor and Cheetor too.

The Mainline has everything under the sun. If you want RotB toys for older kids and fans Studio Series is where they will be.

8-12 year olds don't play with toys. They're at that age where they feel "Too cool for toys". By that age, they think "Toys are for babies."

YES, but it doesn't have to continue! I'm sick of everytime I go somewhere to buy something all that's left is bad gimmick toys that're just upscaled McDonald's toys. It's corrupt. And it might NOT be the cause of kids being stupid but they're ENABLING it. I remember when figures used to be simple.
You had Leaders, Voyagers, and deluxe for the current show, then the movie that was out at the time. Every show had an Optimus that looked at least similar to what you saw on screen, now every show Optimus is oversized gimmicky ass. Where's the Voyager Class CyberVerse Optimus? There wasn't one! They were all either oversized gimmick toys or deluxes. Why is Optimus a deluxe? It's not a difficult concept to make consistent. I saw a Spider-Verse toy for the new Spider-Verse movie that was a static, unposeable figure that had a spinning Gatling gun if you pushed on the leg. That's McDonald's ****, and it was like 9 inches tall and costed like $15.
It's oversaturating the market with garbage that will end up in a thrift shop or Ollie's. And Transformers is no different. Things won't change unless Hasbro makes them change. And to all the users criticising me for caring, how is that helping? Telling me to touch grass like a basement monkey is gonna help toys not suck? If you don't care then don't reply.
