The test shots we saw of Thrust and Dirge have clear cockpit windows too, but again Dirge has his face painted white, which is completely wrong. We've got different differences between the CG renders, the leaked test shots, and now these promotional images of actual figures from Takara Tomy. It's entirely possible that these are again non-final production models, as happened with Earthrise Optimus Prime, who's plastic colors and paint apps just kept changing between renders, convention samples, and official promotional photography.
Who knows what the final products will actually look like at this point. :???:

Did any of the promotional shots show him with a white face and clear cockpit? The only time we saw him with that was that leaked production sample that I'm almost positive was hand painted. The picture from Amazon has him with a gray face (slightly metallic so it might look white, but it isn't) and it's basically the same as the most recent pictures from Amazon so this is probably what we're getting.

We didn't get CG models for these so there's no telling what Hasbro's original plans were.

Nexus Knight wrote:So, unrelated note, but anyone can tell me how I can order Scorponok? He's outta stock on the Pulse, and last I checked, Amazon wasn't carrying him.

This is Amazon's listing link. They took pre-orders a few months ago at that link and I'm sure they will again soon enough. I kept it in my Amazon browsing history and I check it daily.

...well, a bunch of in-hand images of the Quint set, Dirge and Ramjet, the Astro Squad, and the Centurion Drone set surfaced on various sites, and, um, we're going to have to amend that list of all the ER numbers again, because E33 isn't a mystery, apparently:
EARTHRISE-Centurion-Drone.jpeg

...which means the other two missing numbers, E28 & E32, are accounted for between Bluestreak and the soft-confirmed Autobot clones, and we therefore presumably know everything outside of Wave 4 and any further exclusives at the end, further dampening my hopes of more Mercenaries. :(

Yep. The production cockpits are orange. Why did that happen!? That’s not G1 toy OR screen accurate. The Coneheaded Seekers have always had clear, colorless cockpits. Also, the artwork on the front and the product photos on the back both depict Ramjet and Dirge with colorless cockpit windows. So much for cartoon accuracy.

Japanese Video Review for Transformers Earthrise Dirge and Ramjet

There is now a video review for the Earthrise Conehead set. This is an Amazon exclusive and can be preordered there right now and it will be released in two weeks in the US. The review comes from Wotafa and is in Japanese, but it does give us our best look yet at the deco and details, plus it lets us know what the final deco truly is. Horus shared it on our boards and e-mailed us to let us know, along with other fine Seibertronians. We thank you all for these news tips.

Maybe we'll get lucky, and there will be an early running change to the Coneheads that amends the cockpits.
Or better yet, a proper release that amends the cockpits.

I hope the cockpits stay orange. They have them in their TFU profiles, so that makes them acceptable. And they look better. I can't wait to have all 6 of them lined up on the shelf together.

I don't know that I'd say they look better. I don't know that I'd say I like them that color... But in the grand scheme, they're sure as shizz not a deal-breaker.

I might be tempted to snip off the strip that's covering the cockpit in bot mode for the ER seekers.

Well to each our own, I guess. I like them better because I think the white clashes too much with the dark colors of the chests, and because the OG seekers also have orange cockpits abd this way they match. Just looks better to me when they're all together. But it's just my choice, if you like white or clear cockpits, that's your choice. :)

I too preffer the idea of all of them having similar coloured cockpits to create a uniformity among the decepticon ranks.

I don't mind the Coneheads' cockpits being orange, but I think I slightly prefer them being white/clear (in addition to all the other subtle differences that Hasbro actually put in the effort to include this time, different chest, different knees, etc.) to further differentiate the Coneheads from normal Seekers, because they already feel like a different type in some ways, like maybe heavies or special forces or something.

Honestly the renders that have the smokey grey cockpits make me glad they went orange. It gives a nice pop of color, and definitely helps improve the design in my opinion.

Though, I hope that the Coneheads aren't as much of a pain to get as Skywarp is if you don't pre-order them. I might decide to throw in a pre-order, but I'm very hesitant to do so as I've got some other projects I'm working on, and God Neptune and Super Megatron are already going to be a big chunk of money. (Thank Primus I don't collect MPs  )

Sorry if my response came across as harsh...
Individually I think clear would’ve looked great. But I agree to make all 6 look more cohesive, I have no problem with them being Yellow-Orange.

No, it was fine. I just wanted to make sure I didn't come across oppressive with my opinion. As for the color difference serving as another tool to differentiate between the Coneheads and OG seekers, I think it's a minor detail that is dwarfed by the cone heads themselves as well as the aforementioned different knees, as well as the shapes and placement of the wings. But it is nice to have little details like that to give the figures further nuance and individuality. ;)^

I said it before and I'll say it again, I wish all WFC exclusives went to Amazon. It's such a night and day difference in experiences. Even Walmart isn't that bad. For the Coneheads I just had to go to Amazon and order them, couldn't be easier and they're still available. But the Target Seekers, forget it! Still haven't shown up in my local store and I got THREE emails this morning telling me they were in stock on Target.com. But was I able to buy one?

NOPE! The first time I got all the way to the very end to finalize my order, but then got an error and it was removed from my cart. Clearly they did have more and could have completed my order because they went back into stock shortly after, all three within an hour and half. But the next two times I couldn't even get past the big red order button.

This set has really become a lesson in frustration. Hopefully these show up in the local store soon, I do see they've finally shown up in MA so at least they're in New England now.

Well the dynamic duo is complete. Not sure I dig Krunk forming the lower jaw on Snap, and I feel like his beast mode overall could have been done better. His bot and jet modes though are on point. I'd have to say I think Apeface is the better figure. For all the complaints about his plastic, I really like it. When you pick him up you can feel he's a solid figure, has some weight to him.
Still, I love them both and I'm excited to have them!

Well in my vain search to find a single Slitherfang I finally spotted the clones 2-pack, and a Target that had a TON of Snapdragon/Starscream (probably 10 each)...

It's odd, because Brickseek is great for finding Scorponok & Skylynx that have their own DPCI, but is almost useless for BM, deluxe, voyager & leader since they share the same DPCI.

Yeah I was really surprised to find him today. I had just gone to Target to see if anything new was out, and of course there wasn't. And for some reason, my gut told me to check out Walmart in the next town over, and there he was! Made my day for sure!
