Well, Starseeker, Krunk forming the lower jaw was the best way to adapt the original gimmick:
Image
Trying to have him form the whole head would result in a comically tiny beast noggin :P

I personally think the beast mode looks good, probably as good as could be got on a retail toy without throwing out either the jet mode or the resemblance to the classic design.
And they did a good job consolidating the robot legs and beast mode tail/jet fuselage; compare to the original toy where the robot legs are just hanging off the T. rex chest:

That's what I'm talking aboot...
And we'll get them in just over 2 weeks!!

Looking forward to the possibilities of Leader class Dinobots and hopefully a voyager Galvatron...
But without knowing for sure when or what they look like,
the coneheads are definitely what I'm anticipating the most.

Another reason why Amazon exclusives are better than Target or Walmart, they actually ship on time if not earlier.

Rodimus Prime wrote:No, it was fine. I just wanted to make sure I didn't come across oppressive with my opinion. As for the color difference serving as another tool to differentiate between the Coneheads and OG seekers, I think it's a minor detail that is dwarfed by the cone heads themselves as well as the aforementioned different knees, as well as the shapes and placement of the wings. But it is nice to have little details like that to give the figures further nuance and individuality. ;)^

It's all good... And I totally agree that the extra molding for the knees is an incredible touch!
Seriously, good for Hastak for making that happen. And on top of the fact that they each have different wing designs... It's pretty difficult to complain about much with these 3!

Emerje,

Sorry you haven't had any luck with the seeker 2 pack... I just looked, and of the 20 Target stores I would be willing to go to (one in Lawrence, KS; 49 miles away), none of them have a single set.
I don't know if it matters either way being in the midwest, it's 3 days (basically 2, now) short of being a full month since I found my set. Since then, there hasn't been anything...

Does anyone know if this set was somehow really limited? I mean, even for being an exclusive?

Also, I have a bit of envy for those who like Apeface and Snapdragon... Just like DoubleDealer, I just don't see the appeal. Imo, the alt modes look so janky, and the bot modes aren't impressive either... They just don't seem like very good updates. I know they're updated, but based on the original toys I think they could've used even more design/creative license to make more improvements...
I mean good for everyone who likes them. I do appreciate that Hastak is showing love to lesser-known characters.

Aren't they still being distributed to stores? With the Rainmakers, I recall stores were still getting them in over a period of a couple months.

Problem is what was true last year may not be true in 2020 for any number of reasons. With the Siege set I found them and the Micromaster set in stores the same week the rest of the country found them, but I'm positive the ER set hasn't been available in my area at all yet or at best not in any numbers they can keep stocked a month later and that's concerning.

Well, it doesn't matter to me any more. I've been camping Target.com all morning and I finally was able to order a set at 5:41am! And thanks the Red Card I get free two day shipping, they'll be here Thursday.

Now waiting for Walmart to get back to me on why my Netflix figures haven't shipped yet even though they're pre-paid for, pre-orders just ended, and most of the figures have sold out.

Same here in Arizona, the Rainmakers and Micromaster sets were seen in stores several times. I kinda kick myself for not getting the Micromaster set, since this year we got the Micromaster bases. But I've not seen the Seeker or Clone two-pack, only got both thanks to the Target app.

Adding my own experience, I only ever saw the Seeker 3 pack twice, the one time I bought it, and then when it was on sale 3 or 4 months later and was mysteriously restocked heavily.

I only saw the micros once, and I got them on the target app, so they were secured that way

Guess we'll have to look for those in Studio Series and Kingdom.

I feel like this has been the worst line for QC since wave 1 of Animated.

It took 3 Leader Optimus Primes for me to get one that wasn't critically flawed in some way.

2 Starscreams because the hip flap cracks...

2 Grapples because of warping in his foot

2 Snapdragons because my first one had two right feet

Lastly, my Scorponok was missing a critical connector for his transformation. So, he's a $160 Action Master at the moment.

Hasbro Customer service was no help on the phone. They pretended to care via Twitter.

Great job everyone. ;)^

I got a Studio Series Cog with a single warped headlight. Went through the process of setting up an account and sending Customer Care an email from here:https://hasbro-new.custhelp.com/app/answers/list

They sent me a whole new Studio Series figure, one of the Constructicons. I'd try the email and see if you get better results.

Counterpunch, are you getting your toys all from the same source or various sources? If its all from one place (All B&M ,. or all one particular online retailer) I'd avoid them and try a different method. I've thankfully not had nearly as many QC issues. Of course I've not purchased any of those except Scorponok. The only flaw was my own user error, but thankfully it was remedied before any serious issue was caused.

Not exactly toy related, but Zavvi are selling these sweet War for Cybertron Earthrise art prints.

I've set the Autobot one as my desktop background, makes me wonder if we ever will get Earth mode versions of Hound and Sideswipe.
