Can Bruticus be transformed without Onslaught's wheels sticking up over his shoulders just like the convention picture above?

Yeah I'm in the same boat. I love the cartoon but I'd rather have a grey chest plate. I wouldn't even say his cartoon chest was green. I always saw it as blastoff's wings and was more brown. That always confused me as a kid. Why would part of blast off be the chest of bruticus? I'm curious to what Takara does since they lean toward cartoon color schemes.

Still getting hasbro but I'm also gonna get takaras. Not because I think they'll do a new blastoff but because bruticus is my boy.

Even if they make it an exclusive and force us to get the more expensive asian release, like Defensor?

I'm not someone who buys Takara or 3rd party stuff so I don't spend a heck of a lot on toys. I'm totally fine with what hasbro makes. I dont need a groove that's a foot or a scrapper or long haul with elbows or even a more accurate color scheme for the most part. They're toys. Chunks of plastic. Once in a while I'll splurge and get a Takara exclusive like the legends nightbird slipstream and blackarachnia but it's in a while when I feel like treating myself.

Yes, but it's not as stable. The wings of the chest piece pegs into the arms when they are up like that. This makes his shoulders super stable.

Plenty of options though. You could leave them pegged in and just fold the forearms back and down a bit. They will stick out just a little. Or you could just mistransform him and have them rotated like Defensor. You get a little more shoulder movement action this way.

Check how the Perfect Effect team has him posed.

Good to know. I'll probably transform him like Hotspot/Defensor then. Thanks!

I am totally looking forward to getting Skylynx. Scattershot is a pass for me. If only more work went into that figure to differentiate it from Superion!

Bruticus' chest plate would be green as seen here:

Thought it was generally common knowledge by now, but I guess I'll just update the news post... Thanks for letting me know that this should have been clarified.
for it to be bruticus chest it would be dark grey with brown and purple in the center to be show accurate not olive green

Look man, I dunno, that's just what hasbro said at botcon - and based on the consistently poor animation, they may have just been looking at a different screenshot than you did :-P

thats not likely, go google G1 Bruticus and i guarantee most if not all screen shots are the same like this one
anyway someone somewhere is either ignorant or just cant report the right info

The impression I got from what Hasbro said at BotCon was that the green version was supposed to be the first run version and have green plastic to better enhance Onslaught's look, while the gray version was supposed to be the running change that would give Bruticus his proper gray chestplate. It's just that the two ended up being swapped with the gray version coming first instead.

So the green chestplate of the non-gray version might not have been meant to serve any real purpose for Bruticus and instead was for Onslaught's sake.

Exactly, the olive green chest plate for Bruticus translates into a much more toy accurate AND cartoon accurate gun turret for Onslaught's alt mode. If you're like me and get two of each set of combiners to simultaneously display the individual team members and their gestalt form, this is great news, as you can have a more accurate looking Onslaught AND a more (toy) accurate Bruticus if you buy one of each Onslaught variant. I'm sure Takara will invariably give us a cartoon accurate chest plate for Bruticus, probably at the cost of Onslaught's screen accuracy, though.

most people don't buy two of every figure besides when does hasbro do cartoon accuracy thats takara's thing it also doesnt take away the look of onslaughts vehicle or robot having that grey instead of green but it does take away from Bruticus's look having a green chest, either way if im stuck with the green chest some paint will fix it up real nice!

CW Magnus was cartoon accurate over Takara's MTMTE accuracy.

Yes, cartoon accuracy is Takara's thing. That's why I speculated they would do a cartoon accurate chest for Bruticus, which Hasbro hasn't done. They've done a toy accurate gray chest for Bruticus, which makes for non screen accurate combined mode and a non toy accurate Onslaught alt mode. Hasbro's also done a non toy or cartoon accurate olive green/brown chest for Bruticus, which provides for a toy accurate alt mode for Onslaught that also happens to be cartoon accurate in this case. You may not think the gray paneling and turret in the middle of Onslaught's alt mode takes away from the figure, and I agree it looks mostly fine to me, but other's, including presumably some on Hasbro's design team, would rather have an option for a more toy accurate olive green for those pieces in question. The two variants released is their compromise, I suppose, so that consumers can choose what is more important to them, a toy accurate Bruticus or a toy accurate Onslaught.

william-james88 wrote:CW Magnus was cartoon accurate over Takara's MTMTE accuracy.

Almost. I'd say that Hasbro's CW Ultra Magnus has a very G1 cartoon accurate paint mask, but uses color hues more accurate to the G1 toy than to his cartoon appearance. The light versus the much darker blue is a dead giveaway. Still, CW Ultra Magnus is one of my favorite releases of 2015. I don't get why some people revile it so much. I've not had any of the issues people have mentioned with the quality of the plastic. He could hold his guns a little more securely in his hands, but that's about the only real issue I've had.

Unless they paint both sides of the chest plate, but that would probably sponge budget from alotta sources though :HEADHURTS:

And as for Bruticus and Onslaught: I want the green version. it looks a little less drab to me. I will gladly take whichever one I end up with, but I would prefer the green :BOT:

People thought I was nuts when I said that judging by Robot Kingdom's price, YOTM Platinum Optimus Primal would be between 120 and 150$ US. And guess WHAT?!

BBTS preorder for 145$ read em and weap

http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/prod ... ode=retail

There is also TF Source who is charging a bit less but still within my predicted price range with a price of 130$

http://tfsource.com/products/view/product_id/11227/

But that wont get you free shipping since its below 150$ (thank the Lord!)

I was making my rounds and noticed that Amiami has two price points on UW Devastator.
18,730 JPY (=$155.27) and 16,960 JPY (=$140.60)
It looks like those with the lower price have damaged boxes. So, based on what I paid for shipping, which was SAL, this would land him at about $185 shipped to the North America.
