I'm not a movie fan though I have picked up a couple here and there especially from the 1st two movies. I felt the toys were becoming less and less inspired... and maybe the move towards simplification hurt them...

However, I must admit I really like this line and if there was one movie line I'd consider getting right now it would be this.. alas.. poverty.

Did that toy turn out to meet your expectations?

Not exactly, but it was still a good figure. The voyager killed it, so my opinions on the toys were slightly backwards, but still well worth the money.

And if I got excited for a toy and then thought about how I was previously excited for came out and used that as a reference for looking at and actually saying how awesome they look, things would be boring. Sometimes they live up to expectations, sometimes they don't. This one is incredible, so I am looking forward to it as much as I have said I am

It makes the figure look a little off if you look at it from any angle other than directly in front, and just seems like such a weird solution. Couldn't they have made the spare head look like the lower jaw? It would be a little less film accurate but overall look so much neater/better.

Are you referring to the robot mode? Its made so that it matches the cg model where Grimlock had 2 full tyranosaurus heads on his shoulders. Looking back, yeah he totally did.

GO to the 2:30 mark

Most dinobots have 2 of the same to keep symetry (like Slug and two heads) and they are now bringing this to the toys.

Well butter my biscuit; I never noticed that before! Thanks for pointing that out. :)

I think I've seen so much more of the toys/concept art than the CGI models (I've only seen the film in its entirety once) I just assumed that the head being split into shoulder parts was the norm for Grim and Slug.

In that case, I'm even more impressed by the figure's commitment to accuracy but am significantly less impressed with the general movie design for Grim as a whole. What a bizarre design choice.

I was very hyped about the VOYAGER TLK Megatron. But the leader, I had reservations. On pictures, I was disapointed how the wings were just on the back and how much "barrel chested" the leader was. I bought the voyager with anticipation.

Had the voyager and I'm still blown away. Voyager TLK Megs is in my main Megs display.

Got the leader, wasn't impressed and it had a factory defect. I returned it.

So the recent release of studio series bee spurred me to purchase the old 2007 mold of the toy (what can I say I was feeling nostalgic) anyway I was wondering if somebody could shed some light on this...

Image

I cant remember the original release of the toy having the sticker on his windshield, did anybody else have this sticker on their copy? Furthermore is it safe to remove?

As far as this line is concerned, I'm only going to be picking up Bee, Stinger, Jazz, Blackout, Grimlock, and maybe Lockdown. I just don't think Ratchet and Crowbar should be Deluxes, though Ratchet is tempting just so I could mod him. And as far as voyagers go, only the cons look good, Prime just looks like a mess and I've already got 2 good voyager molds for him so I don't need a third. If they do continue this line, and I hope they do, maybe they'll give us some more characters who've had little to no toy releases, like Arcee and Jolt. Wheelie and Brains would be nice to have miniatures of similar to Skorponok and Quintessa.

Got a few of these and yes, when it was brand new it came with the sticker.
It is made to be safely removed without worry.

Did you buy those loose? The Target exclusive form the two pack did have the sticker:

But the regular retail version did not.

On topic - I want that Grimlock, but I find that dino mode very iffy. The head looks to have a very large gap inside the mouth and I'm not sure about the way the dino arms are positioned. It's a good thing his bot mode is so amazing, I just hope it poses as nicely as it looks.

The one with the sticker came from the 2 pack. Bought it brand new from Ebay years ago and I unpacked it.

Transformers Studio Series ToysRUs Exclusive Thundercracker Revealed!

Thanks to fellow Seibertronian Mindmaster, and Facebook Group Transformers Botposting, we have the very first look at Transformers Studio Series Voyager Class Thundercracker! As we already knew from ToyFair, Thundercracker is a retool and recolor of Transformers: The Last Knight Nitro. As can be seen from the picture below, he's labeled as part of the Dark of the Moon toys. This is somewhat curious: the only Thundercracker toy in that line was a recolor of the same line's Deluxe Class Starscream, and had the usual blue, white, and red deco that Thundercracker toys usually have. Even the first movie's Voyager Class Thundercracker had a similar color scheme. This deco doesn't seem to be drawing from any previous iteration of movieverse Thundercracker, save for the dark blue on the arms and legs (this news crew member thinks it's reminiscent of Reveal the Shield Deep Dive). The box art appears to be a re-use of Nitro's art with Thundercracker's new, very movie-verse head.

The same Facebook page has an image of the back of the box and the pictures appear to be taken at an actual Toysrus meaning the toy has already been found at US retail.

WANT!

Also, that head design is very reminiscent of BW Inferno. Now I need to see if this would make a good repaint into a movie version of him.

That made me want Nitro even more. This guy may look nice, but the fact that NZ never showed up in my stores after that one time he did is infuriating.

....oh. Well that changes things. I liked the gunmetal color on the chest, didnt know about the predominant blue. Thats a little less enticing now. I still like the gunmetal more than NZ's white, but

Until Mindmaster sent the picture of the box, I couldn't see how that was passing as Thundercracker except in name only. But that jet mode is pure traditional Thundercracker deco.
