Well he is getting a deco and becoming deathsauras for a box set of Liokaizer. It's totally weird and might be your taste.

Takes doesn't really stray away from G1 color schemes when it's mean to be a G1 character and that's what Skylynx is. Personally I think they go a little too far with trying to be accurate. Menasor is an example of that for me personally. Same as Bruticus, I think takaras is hideous. I know there's an audience for it but sometimes changing it up and adding some new colors are better IMO

Yeah... my problem can be that they try to apply the cartoon-accurate colours to toys that are really not designed to go well with them, leading to some pretty bad results like Drag Strip or Onslaught IMO.
That said... sometimes they can do very good. I especially like what they did with Motormaster; going with making him the colours of the cab rather than Hasbro's take of making him the colours of the cab and the trailer. It's an interesting difference made especially better by the fact neither is necessarily a better choice; it's completely taste-dependant. It's mostly new tooling that can really win me over.

I'm looking forward to seeing what Takara's Sky Reign looks like, hopefully the full reveal will come shortly before the pre-orders start. If the set does include Ratchet I'll definitely buy it, though I already have the Hasbro version of Wheeljack (not a good retool on its own, but the Reprolabels stickers save it).

It is written just a few posts above that it will be revealed before the preorder, the exact dates are given.

So TT's Sky Reign is UW-EX, eh? Well, kinda figured they'd go that route with him, making him no part of the main UW line ;)

I wouldn't worry too too much about limited numbers due to him being an "exclusive". Remember Guardian and Convoy Grand Prime who were exclusive to TakaraTomy Mall as well? Rather, he's more like e-Hobby's UW-EX Grand Scourge, a side release with no real impact on the main fiction and more suited for side stories, like the one with Deadlock.

I'm excited to see this guy in full. I really wish it would be shattered glass. Expensive, but really cool and way out there :MAXIMAL:

So are we to assume that he's going to be around the price of the other exclusives like grand Galvatron, or more expensive?

I dont know, its a bit screwey. Defensor had very limited numbers, but Hasbro Asia then made a ton of him and thats the version everyone in the west has and it didnt cost that much more than others at importers. But this guy is an exclusive tied to an event it seems. He's not part of the line but something exclusive on the side. So I dont know how that will work and if Hasbro Asia can make their own version for the west. They didnt for Rhinox and the gang who are convention exclusives also labelled with EX in their name. So I dont know.

I really cant guess how hard to get or expensive it will be. I doubt it will be at the same level as the Hero Ex exclusives (Dogfight and Runamuck).

I don't think he's tied to an event since he has preorders going up on TTMall. He's going to be revealed at an event but that's it. Don't forget that grand scourge was designated UW EX but wasn't a convention exclusive.

Smart man! Yes, this would be more like Scourge. But that guy was tied to a licensee, so I dont know what this guy is tied to. I guess we'll see. But if Grand Scourge is any indication, this guy will be pricier than the likes of Defensor or Grand Galvatron.

Well since it seems like they're keeping it in house as opposed to letting a partner do it I'm hoping it's not too crazy. I want ratchet but my money is not unlimited

I don't understand TT reasoning for making this an EX, but oh well. Also just to make sure...the only other UW EX so far has been Grand Scourge correct? or did I miss something?

I was hoping TT's Sky reign would be pretty much the same as CW. If they made an exclusive ratchet, that would be ok, because then I could get CW Smokescreen now while he is easy to find.

I've done pretty much the opposite of what all the "May Mayhem"-ers are doing ;) . Instead of waiting for Hasbro to release the proper Deluxes. I just get the UW set, then get the CW "oddballs" (Alpha Bravo, Off Road, and Rook so far) as individuals to complete my sets. ;)^

To explain to the OP, TakaraTomy's Sky Reign has both the Offroad and First Aid molds: one should be Trailbreaker (or Hoist, should they be cheeky), the other is assumed to be Ratchet due to fact both heads have not been used yet by TakaraTomy. Smokescreen is not part of the set, because he's a straight redeco and they tend to avoid those for release.

Sunday is fun day for TakaraTomy mogul TFYuki! This morning he takes to Twitter (as he does) with an in-package shot of Transformers Unite Warriors UW-07 Bruticus. Not only that, but Bruticus can't seem to wait to get.... Bruticus out of said box! The Decepticon Combaticons are slated for release this month, do you have one coming your way? See the pic below and stay tuned to Seibertron.com: home for the best Galleries and Conversation around!

I don't like the lighter brown on Blast-off, hopefully it will grow on me. I liked the darker brown a lot more, don't understand why they changed that. The other gripe is that they didn't bother to add a gun for Onslaught/Bruticus, i don't think it would've been too much to ask for. I will still get it though.

What little we see of Vortex looks much better. Don't like the color of Bruticus's chest plate though.

Hasbro repented of their slothfulness and put deluxe Groove on the market. Hopefully they will do the same with Takara's Blast-Off....

It'll most likely be the same as jet blast off deco wise, which would look a lot better. Luckily for me I don't see the problem with jet blast off, so I don't care if they do or don't bring over the UW mold

I doubt that. So far, the plastic colour for all releases of bonus members was the same no? If ever we get shuttle Blastoff, there wont be much difference from the Takara one, I think. However, unlike with Groove, I am not holding out hope Hasbro brings over Blastoff. Plus, with the prices people have been charging and paying for deluxe Groove, if you want a Bruticus with a shuttle Blastoff, I dont understand why people dont just get the UW version. Unlike Defensor, this isnt an exclusive and it only costs 25$ more than getting the Hasbro version of Bruticus.

Quickslinger and Wildrider were in different colours, but since Groove was in the same colours aside from like.... The screwheads, I think he'd be the same colours. Just holding onto vain hope.
To answer your second question, mostly because unlike Defensor the colours on Bruticus are vastly different to Hasbro's - more than any other release. And to many people's eye - including mine - it's kind of horrific. So a lot of people would appreciate being able to get a shuttle blast off alone for their Hasbro Bruticus they may prefer the colours on.

He looks good, but for the money im def sticking with my hasbro, this is one of those rare cases where takara version isnt miles ahead in terms of paint job over hasbros. For me anyway. Hes like 120 more to get Takara version in canada.
