I had Tripticon as a kid but like most toys from that era it might not be in the best condition. It'll be great to have this again with all the parts in one place. I have the Encore Combaticons and a KO Stunticon set so I can try out the super combined mode.

Fun fact - there are a lot more redirects than just Gobotron.com. Not gonna point em out, just sayin. Might be a fun scavenger hunt if you're super bored.

Not all of them are transforming robot-related, either. Hunt away!

Awesome news for all of us, fellow Seibertronian Generator_G1 has gotten his hands on the Platinum reissue of G1 Trypticon and provided some pictures.
To anyone wondering how he procured the item it was through:
Generator_G1 wrote:Group buy at our local Transformers FB group thru the local Hasbro distributor.

He also stated that it has every accessory that came with the original G1 toy.

Enjoy these images in all their Duracel product placement glory and let us know if you spot any differences from the original release.

It's really hard to tell, but are the guns and radar dishes darker and duller gray than the vintage?

I've pre-ordered this. I've never seen one and it was impulse. I hope I don't regret it.

I know nothing of the significance of these numbers. What's it all about Amelie?
Me neither. Fill us in Amelie!

G1 Seekers have several production runs and versions of the mold as running production changes. For example -

Wings sometimes have shorter or longer pegs or a small difference in width, meaning they don't always 100% fit a toy. Ever bought a G1 vintage Seeker and found the wings just refuse to stay pegged in? Now you know.

Some fists have a 'flap'' on the wrist and some don't. Different production runs are numbered and again - some are looser than others. Its not just wear and tear, it really is just that little bit different.

There used to be a whole website out there dedicated to different production runs of G1 Seekers. Very handy.

Much like the different runs on Optimus Prime's fists.

I once had a Thundercracker made of a mix of Mexican IGA parts and MB UK parts. It just wouldn't stay together and the fists, bless them - never stayed on. They fitted my Ramjet and Thrust, though.

I explained a thing or two on the previous pages, but whether or not anyone caught it...

At any rate, it seems the PE Coneheads use the #11 fists, which are found exclusively in the latest reissues. In short, they don't seem to be made from vintage molds as those only go up to #10.

Its worth noting the numbers so that the hardcore vintage buff can avoid getting a reissue by accident, too.

Very interesting, as this leads me to assume some degree of re-engineering gets done on these old toolings every 5 or so years they're pulled out for use. I guess that's not really a mind-blowing fact, with toy safety standards constantly changing, but fist re-engineering implies to me something a bit heavier and more in depth than I would've imagined. Good stuff in here!

Somehow I can't see Platinum Trypticon coming to TRU in the UK! Especially in Glasgow! even though they had Platinum Supreme Starscream! but even the original Trypticon barely made it to stores in the UK(I found mine decades ago in a store called What Everyone Wants, obviously it must've been an import at the time).

Um....Also Leader Class StarScream next to Thundercracker.

Who is this guy posting these pics? Starscream wasn't even announced yet.

We've known of him for quite some time: http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/inhand-images-transformers-generations-combiner-wars-leader-starscream/32867/
You've got to keep your eyes peeled to seibertron :D

Unless you mean official Hasbro listings and images. But if that's the case, then we never got any for both Trypticon or the Blaster and Perceptor set.

I'm here every day. I'm talking official listings.

Something just seems weird here. But I guess I'm just partially jealous that I can't gank free toys off the assembly line and post pictures of them.

I don't know if he "gank" it or not - most likely the stuff he gets are rejects that can't be sold because it doesn't meet standards or there is something wrong with the toy during manufacturing.

I see the guy also got his hands on a yet to be released Marvel Legends Blizzard as well...
