I learned from Thumper's mom that if you have nothing nice to say, don't say it........but the mold sure looks good on Starscream

Just not used to seeing the Seekers as tall as Skyfire........

Wow. Starscream is one big-headed Seeker. Though, not as better than the Cybertron Supreme Class Starscream, for this new one lacks color. [-(

Ultra Magnus and G1 Megs are musthaves for me. Pity Megs is not (yet) at retail here and it's also a pity no Dutch webshop has got him in stock anymore...

And now Starscream... My money's disappearing faster than it should this year.

So the in box pics of UM show Ambus on the outside, which means that you can have both in Robot mode separate from each other. That makes more sense for the Takara version, a little bit mind you, in that you can have Alpha Trion as a separate character, since Trion shouldn't be inside Magnus, as far as any fiction I personally know of. The only big downside for the Takara version is that Trion is so tiny. I'm still getting the Hasbro version, I don't think the changes between the 2 are worth the import prices.

As far as the leader class Starscream, I'm not digging it. Seekers are supposed to be small, nimble and fast. Not towering over everyone else. More for those who like it...

TRU.nl has leader Megs in stock. I checked this morning.

Starscream is... meh. I've got my classics seekers. I'm not putting myself through that again.

Magnus is awesome, but Ambus...Can't get used to him wearing Magnus like some sort of badass party frock.

Check out the images below, showing off the character's traditional deco, complete with null rays, arm cannons and a coronation crown that seems straight from the animation *and* IDW comics.

Damn, that Ambus is an ugly little thing. Needs a hankerchief to wipe that dribbly sneezy snot off his face and chest and niether mode looks good. Just throw it away and pretend that IDW story never happened.

Starscream looks ok at that size but the wing backpack looks terrible as it's all the bad almost 'wireframe' looking under-side showing from the front view and makes him look cheap. Acceptable I suppose on a small figure but just looks ugly on a large one. Could use more paint apps but that's easily fixed.

Damn, just ebayed him last week for a little 80 eurios :HEADHURTS:
Oh well, lowest he'll be in The Netherlands is 60 eurios I guess. Patience isn't my strongest suit.

Ontopic:
Ultra Magnus is just, ... so great. And the Masterpiece is also great.

I'm not going to collect the leader Seekers, but they do look good. If their heads were more G1 I might be tempted.

Takara beat ya to your sensing.

I PROMISE I WILL USE THESE POWERS OF FORESIGHT ONLY FOR GOOD AND FOR RIGGING HORSE RACES...
Foresee Takara changing tiny Trion to Governor Raikuru instead and all will be forgiven. ;;)

But they were never together onscreen.
Don't care. Would make more sense than Trion since Raikuru is a Micromaster and supposed to be tiny. And would give us the first toy of another obscure cartoon-only Japanese-original character. Takara could come up with some story in their pack-in Legends manga to explain why the two come together.

Still. Raikuru would best come with Star saber than UM. It's just to far a stretch to link them.

Friggin'. Called. It.

I had a feeling that "gem" in his forehead wasn't just for show.

I might grab one for the 'Screamer display to represent the IDW version of the character. Probably not going to do the whole Seeker affair if Skywarp is made. Already did it with Fall of Cybertron, I'm trying to do it with Classics now, and I'm waiting on Legends Skywarp to finish the set.

So the madness begins... ya'll do know Hasbro does the seekers because they view you as suckers, right? Repaints don't cost them a whole lot to produce, and as Classics show they can do 30 of them and you want more. I never understood why people complain about repaints and not getting new molds but want a zillion stupid seekers

Because the G1 cartoon used the Seeker model as generic Army-Builders and crowd fillers (along with hordes of Reflector clones), in a variety of colors. So we've grown numb to Seeker repaints, to the point we're going ga-ga over any new ones, especially if there's a basis for them in the cartoon.

That said, are we sure it's Hasbro doing this? I could see this as the Japanese counterpart to our Thundercracker and TakaraTomy would have less qualms about releasing in white and red (again). Then again, Japanese figures are hardly ever leaked this way... :-?

Why not get both? They'll look awesome next to each other. And then hopefully Skywarp will join them.

Having Jetfire already, these so called "seekers" are an easy pass. The mold just isn't worth the leader class price point.
