This is awesome! This is really what we should have gotten in the very beginning. It probably won't fix many of the mold's real functional issues, but at least it's nice eye candy.
now THATS what im talkin about! this thing is so nice it looks like its a custom job! and yes, total eye candy, but it deverts my eyes from the backpack which is a plus.

someone please tell me that this isnt an exclusive or something? i want it, but since is my second bout with the mold i dont feel like paying crazy money for it. though i probably would.

Ha! Sabrblade, I love that stupid Penguin!

I have had no Interest in AOE (toys, movie, etc.) until NOW. That Prime is too sexy. He is SOOO knightly. Hail and well met, Sir Prime.
Now I can overlook the Gundamus Prime look.
Will he be worth the price tag?

Don't worry, it should be a mass retail figure.

TFsource already has a preorder up for it (I put one in my Stack a few hours ago):

$80.00
Not bad at all for a import.

Wasn't there a Translucent 2-pack with OP and Grimlock coming from somewhere too?

You're thinking of either:

- Plantinum Series Optimus Prime & Grimlock Voyager 2-pack (with extra chrome)
- Plantinum Series Optimus Prime & Grimlock Leader 2-pack (with more movie-accurate deco)

When they said it would come with new weapons I thought they were talking about his normal gun, not just new versions of the weapons he came with. Still looks great just wish that gun was there.

Ya. I think I'd rather "shell" out the cash on this Prime anyway.

So, I picked up the TRU Evo Prime 2-pack because, I'm embarrassed to say, I never had Classics Prime. I thought Target Ultra Magnus was good enough, but that never works. Figured I'd pay $45 for both and use the Evasion Mode for an ash tray. Better than Classics used for $70 or more.

Really disappointed that Evasion didn't come with face plate as shown, but after fiddling with him he's not sooo bad.
But, I ask this, what is up with his arms? His elbows are so weird. Also, Whats up with his gun? It's a really cool blaster, but he holds it like an old lady sipping a cup of tea.

You can't polish a turd.
So is this guy just a really shiny lump of poo squeezed from a Bay hole?
Have you handled him, or just don't like it from what you've seen?

Because I'm not a fan of most things movie related, but I would consider this one.

Ha! Fair enough.

I like knights. I like transforming robot toys. I have a few Bayformers that I like. 07 Leader Prime is one of my favorite Prime toys. He's right here looking at me.
I'm just trying to figure out if this Prime is a cool toy. I've seen him in stores and considered him, but his paint job is lack luster. This Takara version looks awesome.

Is this a good toy? does it transform cool? Is he nice and possible in robot mode?
Is this not where we discuss cool toys?

Maybe don't paraphrase my quotes either.

Because what you said about Evasion Optimus was pure blasphemy! It even transform into it's G1 truck, for crying out loud!

Anyway, AoE Leader Optimus is a good toy, but it have it's flaws. It's shell-formery and it have that backpack that could have been easely shrinkable with just a few more hinges. Still, the truck mode is parfect, it have RUBBER tires, and the bot mode is one cool looking knight. Does it's worth 60$+? No. Wait for a sale. If you want the ultimate premium Takara version, wait for some video review. 100$+ is a lot of money to risk on uncertainty.

By the way, 2007 Leader Optimus is a nice toy in it's own right and I love it very much. However, I don't love it enough to display him so right now, he's in storage. Do you want the ULTIMATE in toy engeneering? No shell former? Screen accurate bot mode AND robot mode? Are you not affraid of a challenge? Then get a Optimus Prime Leader of the ROTF/Buster mold. This toy will blow your mind and will change your opinion forever about movie toys.

I DID admit that Evasion turned out to be cooler than I thought.
I can't stand the character designs from the movies, but you're right, I will be more careful where I Bay bash.

I have always admired that ROTF Prime. He does look like he transforms in an amazing way. I even remember thinking, should I have skipped on 07 Prime. I just didnt get him because I already had one movie Prime. Probably should have waited.

Thanks for answering my question about AOE. I may be a few steps closer to acquiring him.

I'm real new to the forums, and this is the kind of back and forth I was hoping to find.
Guess you gotta shake the tree if you want an apple.
We may disagree on the movies, but judging by that bad ass dwarf warrior avatar you're rockin' I bet you and I aren't so different.

Thanks and peace be with you Brother Bot Fan

Welcome aboard.
Also, be sure to at least try out a ROTF Leader OP mold. It have 2 versions in north America (ROTF and HFTD) and at least a gazillion different premium versions for the Japanese market. If money is no object, you can get one in a matter of seconds. However, with just the right ammount of digging, you may find one that is loose and cheap. Try it out. FEEL it. Your mind will be blown.

Know what?
That is exactly what happenned to me about the Movie design for Starscream. I'm a big Screamers fan but I hated, HATED Bayverse Starscream Doritos with chicken legs design. A little more, and I would have raised a mob with torshes and pitchforks. I was in my early collector days back in Xmass 2010. I went to my local TrU for some TF sales and I saw the HORRIBLE Movie Starscream toy. It was the Leader from the HFTD line. With a deep sigh, I took the box and gotr a closer look. I saw that he had an incredible ammount of details going on. He was big and hefty. Only 40$ instead of 60$. Why the hell not? So I bought him and brought him home. Then, I tried him out... I was blown away! I found just how genius that design was, the transformation was fun and involved, and no one could have guessed that a frigging JET would come out of this! After that, I fell in love and bought every version of Starscream ever, INCLUDING all the Movie toys. I even have a particular fondness for the 2007 voyager mold.

Anyway, Tl;Dr, give a toy a chance. You might be surprised.
