I know 99% of the fandom hates it, but I hope there is a Sunstorm redeco. THAT I would buy in a heartbeat.

Hmm...

JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Because the G1 cartoon used the Seeker model as generic Army-Builders and crowd fillers (along with hordes of Reflector clones), in a variety of colors. So we've grown numb to Seeker repaints, to the point we're going ga-ga over any new ones, especially if there's a basis for them in the cartoon.

Forgive me for not specifying, but with talks of the classics seekers in this thread, I was referring to G1. And as JelZe said, G1 used the seekers as army builders. And Starscream sure does look a lot shorter than Megatron in this G1 clip.

I honestly don't remember a time, besides Cybertron, where Starscream was as tall or taller than Megatron. Except maybe the movies. I can't remember about in the movies. So let's look at the toys released then. They released a leader class Jetfire. Jetfire in the G1 toon, was taller than all the seekers. Now they are releasing a remold of leader class Jetfire as the seekers. The seekers should look up to Jetfire.

Not starting an argument, I hope, just pointing out where I'm basing my opinion.

Agree to disagree on this one Sabrblade?

Memes aside, the two are roughly, but not exactly, the same height in these pics.

The Leader Megatron toy is only a little taller than the Leader Jetfire mold, so the height difference between the two toys is about the same as the cartoon height difference.

Not really feeling that Starscream. Seems a little washed out. I do love that mold and I think the TC version is dead sexy.

The Leader Class is an odd turducken of a size class. I've learned to not be super hung up on scale, but it's always nice when it works out.

As always, excited to see more pics.

Starscream is a pass for me. If I want one to fit with my MP collection, there's MP Starscream. If I want one to go with my Classics collection, there's quite a few deluxe figures that fit that need. If I want a giant Starscream with a crown, there's the Cybertron version.

I might have been tempted if the wings looked better in robot mode... but... without those wing details, it just doesn't look Starscream enough to me to warrant another large figure.

I think he needs a hammer.

Yes, I now you can combine the rocket pods into a hammer, and bludgeoning people with rocket pods is probably just as awesome as it sounds, but I want an actual intended to be a hammer type hammer, possibly so he still has his rocket pods.

I'm kinda torn, as to whether I want to repaint Minimus Ambus now or leave him alone. Initially, I wanted to do him up as Powered Buggy, but as I think of it, PB was with his diaclone paint, not Ultra Magnus. I dunno. Might leave him alone and leave him in the same roll

So, Screamer gets his helmet but Thundercracker doesn't get his dog??? That's unfair favoritism!
Seriously though, he looks good, but as a Leader class, he is kinda pricey, so I'll only get one release of this mould, hopefully in Skywarp's colors, and I'd LOVE an Acid Storm, unlikely, yes, but so where the Legends and the friggin' MASTERPIECE, Acid Storm is the new Sunstorm and I love it! :KREMZEEK:

That Minimus Ambus is AMAZING! I need that Magnus in my life! Also, he makes every "he's not articulated due to the size" argument invalid! *looks at Brazilian Prime and Bumbrazil*

I am sorry but TC owns this mold. Starscream looks washed out and plain. Maybe its time fro these characters to just have their own molds.

I don't think his wallet can deal with that right now. Too many tantalizing leader class figures in one calendar year.

Combiner Wars Leader Thundercracker sighted at Canadian retail

PostPosted: Tue May 12, 2015 8:20 pm
by william-james88
Leader Thundercracker was spotted today, by yours truly, at a specialty action figure and hobby store in Montreal, Canada, for 65$ cdn (a slight markup from Toysrus' 60$ cdn). This retail store is called Toysonfire, and is found at 1539 Van Horne. Consider this the retail equivalent to those early amazon listings from third party sellers that are more expensive than Amazon iself but available earlier. This means it's only a matter of time before they hit mass retail. For those not in the know, Leader Thundercracker is a retool and redeco of Leader Jetfire and will be further redeco'd into Leader Starscream.
